I once went to the filming of one of their episodes, the one where they went to a island resort and there was a hurricane. Really impressed with their level of professionalism. And as a member of the studio audience, getting to see the three sets lined up next to each other. I noticed that Mark Linn-Baker appeared very protective of Bronson Pinchot while on set. Very sweet.
@@leelee185 was over by the Chinese Theatre and someone from the studio was giving out tickets. If memory serves me they bussed us over to the studio. Was a cool experience! Was instructed to try to laugh again when they had to redo a scene. Which I think happened twice but it wasn’t because of the actors, it was something to do with camera angles/filming.
I loved the '80s sitcoms. I still remember the episode when Balki was a ninja on the mantle. Such good stuff back then. I miss Family Ties, Sanford and Son, Growing Pains, Dukes of Hazzard, Good Times, Different Strokes, and many others. Those days are gone.

The man who played Larry lives in Manhattan. I saw him on the train and was incredibly excited when I saw him. He was surprised that I recognized him and was very gracious Ive seen him a few more times on the subway. Ive even snuck a picture of him

Oh I remember that episode. Not only was it my first time hearing the phrase "couch potato", but after he threw the remote out the window Balki was going to just push the button on the tv, so Larry bent his finger. It was just so odd it was great :D

You didn’t mention Ernie Sabela who played not only Pumba in the Lion King with Nathan Lane but also Larry and Balki’s boss. He also was the beach Club boss on “Saved By The Bell” I personally saw Mark Lynn Baker and Ernie Sabela and Nathan Lane perform in the 1996 Broadway cast of “A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum”. Ernie also came through my register at Cracker Barrel near his home in New York in 2000.
Loved this show as a kid. The expression "you can't go home again" definitely applies in this case though. I got nostalgic and bored during lockdown and streamed a few episodes of some shows I used to watch. Perfect Strangers was one I revisited. I really wish I hadn't. It was shockingly bad. In fact almost everything I watched was awful, especially sitcoms. Cheers held up. Magnum PI and Miami Vice were still fun. All the stuff I absolutely loved at 10 years old: Knight Rider, Incredible Hulk, A- Team, Dukes of Hazzard, Diff'rent Strokes, Webster, Facts of Life, Silver Spoons. Unwatchable. I wish I'd left them in the past and kept my fond memories.

Loved this show. I laughed the hardest at the bit where Balki and Larry were volunteer fire fighters and Larry called 911 to the phone that Balki answered in the same room, thinking it was someone else who called.
These two actors were masters of physical comedy, and yes while many episodes were predictable, and they always ended with Larry learning a lesson, the timing and delivery of the stars on this show make me laugh to this day. Our favorite episode is the one where Larry tries to replace Jennifer's shower head instead of calling the plumber. The scene where they flood the bathroom is right up there with Lucy and Ethyl wrapping chocolates on the assembly line for us!

I’ve binged this series several times. It’s campy and predictable but that doesn’t have to bad. Some days we need a little predictability and this show always makes me laugh all these years later.

The problem was more glaring in the episode Eddie decided he wanted to become a cop. She was against it because he's her son. It didn't work because she wasn't the one who spent years building up the mother son relationship with Darius McCrary the actor who played Eddie. For that reason I didn't buy her concern or conflict with her husband Carl played by Reginald Vel Johnson.
Both actors starred in episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Pinchot as a smarmy dentist. And Linn-Baker as a man with Asperger's. This character (Wally?) makes several follow up appearances when Goran seeks out his help, while he serves his prison sentence. Excellent acting all around.

This was one of my favorites growing up. This and Bosom Buddies, and all of the rest of the standard kids favorites. Bronson Pinchot has always been extremely talented and funny as can be. His skit in Beverly Hills Cop was EPIC, and again in Beverly Hills Cop 3. This show somehow faded away? I honestly don't remember why either. But I did love it. This show may be corny by "today's" standards, but the shows nowadays in my opinion lack the heart and soul that these shows had.
