    ⏩ What's with the gloves?
    Not after any UA-cam fame here which is why I'm not in the vids - they're not about me they're about the how-to! I used the gloves for the first couple of projects I filmed which just happened to be messy ones and it kinda just became a thing - easy to spot my videos! If that's not your thing and you'd prefer to watch a face, all good, I won't be offended, there's plenty of better looking ones to watch already on UA-cam ;)
    ⏩ Where did this start?
    I really enjoy tinkering with different projects - they usually require a whole bunch of research and learning along the way. It's satisfying on doing a thing and standing back and going 'Yeah! Totally did that!'. I had a bunch of mates asking 'how did you know how to do that?' and 'I couldn't never do that myself so I thought; I need to start something where I can help others that might be thinking the same thing :)
    ⏩ What will you find here?
    The purpose is simply to make these videos as top quality and helpful as I can. They will always be free, there's ZERO agenda and the only motive is to try and upload what I would want to watch to help with that particular project. I'm also keen to keep building this little community and will try to answer all questions when asked - fire away :)

    Those Renogy inverters blow air out the front powerplug end and suck from the battery connection end and also blow a proportion of air out underneath the unit up the powerplug end as well , I think your fans to cool the box are going against the flow so to speak 🗣 Worth considering maybe if you haven’t picked that up yet . Bloody nice install there rock solid 👍

      Hmm currently on a trip testing so will have a look, might have to swap the fans in that case 👍 Thanks for the tip!

    Man! That's a whole lot of power! Are you planning to go off grid long camping type thing? Or is this for some big power hungry appliances we haven't seen yet?

    Thanks Adam, very informative, I'm pretty interested in what you've done to the alternator? Is there a vid to come about this? Cheers

    Absolutely awesome video as always mate, just wondering where you got the canopy fan/vent from? And do you have an install vid? Cheers.

    I’ve honestly only skimmed the video so I apologise if you’ve already addressed this question, but is it okay to mount these batteries side-ways? I only ask since I’ve seen Tim Bates 4WD Adventures UA-cam video about how he killed two lithium batteries in 11 months because he didn’t mount his batteries the right way up. Really interesting 12v build you’ve done though! Love this channel and it’s inspired me a lot to get the canopy, phone mount, and awning. Do you have a video of your canopy roof rack platform? And the ceiling of your canopy?

    • @VideoShowMeHow
      @VideoShowMeHow  Місяць тому

      Hey yep they can be but only on this specific side as I have them per manufacturer 👍 No vid of the canopy rack, I basically just cut down the one that came with the canopy so it fits inside the slots to get me under 2.0m (and into carparks)

    Good job mate. Where can i buy those thermo fans?

    • @VideoShowMeHow
      @VideoShowMeHow  Місяць тому

      The ones in the box? They're rack fans I already had. The canopy one is a noctua. Just do a search for 'ip67 80mm fan' there's a heap of brands that do them these days 👍

    Epic ... Quick q.... The relay to power the fans.... Is that running through the victron BMV-713 monitor?

    • @VideoShowMeHow
      @VideoShowMeHow  Місяць тому

      Yep, had to cut that bit explaining that vid was getting waay too long lol. Yes so on the bmv712 it has a little relay built in, so you run power to it and back to a regular relay and fans run off that. It's then activated based on your settings, can be temp controlled or even voltage (so if voltage hit 14.4 for example you could start a water heater to use surplus power etc) 👍

    • @geoffthomsett9408
      @geoffthomsett9408 Місяць тому

      Righto, that’s what I was after…. And now… the absolute last one….. the earth to chassis from the Lynx, I’m guessing that’s beefy, and is it just going to the same chassis earth point you have the neg from the DCDC input going to, as I assume you haven’t run the neg from the start battery as per your original install. Cheers again for the great content and follow ups……. Helps no end….

    • @VideoShowMeHow
      @VideoShowMeHow  Місяць тому

      Hey all good, fire away with any Q's. Yep the big chassis earth is 95mm cable, same as the main orange ones in the box. Pass through is 400amp. Prob a little overkill but rather have the head room 👍 Have a 100amp wire coming from the old DCDC which I will use for the new victron buck boost when it arrives and use the lynx neg. Output from the DCDC into the lynx on the last spot

    • @geoffthomsett9408
      @geoffthomsett9408 Місяць тому

      Or…… does the big earth from the lynx replace the need for one from the non isolated DCDC 12|12 30 ? Ie the DCDC takes positive feedback from alternator, and the gnd and pos out go direct to the lynx which completes all the earths…..

    Epic setup mate
    Should really consider adding an AC/DC charger in there (or at least a port you can plug into)
    I recommend the Victron 15amp
    You won’t use it all the time but it’s really handy to have if you’re at a place with power and want to charge up those large batteries!

    • @VideoShowMeHow
      @VideoShowMeHow  Місяць тому +1

      Yeah top tip, might be able to squeeze one in there a chunk of space under the compressor.. Have been eyeing off one of those fancy cerbo gx screen thingies also 🤔

    • @samhadley1922
      @samhadley1922 Місяць тому

      @@VideoShowMeHowI haven’t got one permanently mounted in there (I use it for multiple vehicles)
      But I’ve got a port which is wired through the shunt of course
      In our work car we actually use a Victron multiplus 12/3000/80
      Charging at 80amps over AC is awesome and it’s got a 3000w inverter built in
      Cerbo screen would be nice, but maybe a little unnecessary considering no permanent mains power
      Also recommended to add a “smart battery sense” directly to the batteries to monitor their voltage straight off the battery terminals so you’re not getting voltage drop
      But awesome build, wish I could fit 400ah of lithium in my setup👌

    What size cables are the big ones?

  • @kyle782
    @kyle782 Місяць тому

    My question is did you take into consideration voltage drops across the main leads to the batteries and balance the main battery leads by using +ive from battery 1 and -ive from battery 2 as the main connections. This equalizes the runs and makes sure that the battiers are receiving identical charge and discharge currents and voltages.

    • @VideoShowMeHow
      @VideoShowMeHow  Місяць тому +1

      Yep sure have. 95mm cable and +ve off one and -ve off the other 👍
