I had mudkip and treeko on my first playthrough but on my second playthrough I had mudkip and phanphy. I'm so glad I was lucky enough to get mudkip twice!
Not gonna lie, I had to restart the game multiple times to play as eevee Riolu was my partner as well, I named him Luca because I actually enjoy uncreative names
I'm afraid, my time has come to end It's now here, since we've changed history Wish I could, say goodbye to our friends But I can't... Please, do it for me (This can't be, can't you stay? Do you really have to now leave?) (We've just won, didn't we? I can't just go without you now..) Don't forget, the memories we've made Don't forget, knowing you made me glad And I know, this parting hurts so much But for you, there's more to be had (Please don't go, it's not fair, I can't go on without you here..) (In my heart, you're the key, and without you what would I be?) Don't forget, this adventure we had Please stay strong, as you've grown since we met As I fade, I'm glad to have known you Please my friend, don't ever forget. ---------- I came up with these lyrics a few months ago, and figured I'd post them here.
Beautiful Lyrics, dude. I was literally just thinking about how I was proud I listened to this song without crying, then your comment comes crashing into my vision. So of course, I had to listen to it again, singing with your lyrics, and now I'm bawling. Good work, take your like, man. :,)
MD:Explorers was truly a once in a lifetime experience captured on a DS cartridge, Rescue Team will always have that special place in my kid heart but it could never compare to memories made in Explorers
The game feels different if your MC becomes a Treecko. You became the somewhat young version of your original partner, use similar moves in attack, and accepted martyrdom by rewriting the future.
Shit. Fuck. Holy goodness. I just finished reviving the Explorers finale some days ago, and then you post this. I have no clue how you got this timing. My heart is in shambles. Thank you Zame
Aaa I love this song!!! Having to say goodbye... not so much... I only realised last year that there was such a long time skip between this and when you return. What if the partner spreading the story of what happened... while still being in your memory, was also... more literally so? What if, because the future you came from no longer exists... everyone forgot you? They see their friend, the timid yet brave apprentice who joined the guild and has grown so much since then, return from their solo mission, but why do they look so sad? Come to think of it, what was their mission again? They tell everyone what happened, the only one able to remember you since they were in the Hidden Land when it happened (or maybe because they also travelled in time) and no-one remembers, but they believe them - it makes sense with how they can't remember certain details, and that Pokemon wouldn't lie about something like this! The story spreads around, the story of a timeline that no longer exists, but has to have done in order to have been prevented... And then, months later, the solo apprentice finishes work early for once. They go down to the beach to watch the sunset and unwind, just like they always used to. They've gotten used to life without you, or so they thought. They spent a long time talking about you, spreading your story, making sure you wouldn't be totally forgotten, even if they're the only one who really remembers. And then it hits them. They're really the only one who remembers. And remember they do. Sitting there, on that beach, for the first time since the day they met you... it all comes flooding back. If they hadn't been with you, no-one would have remembered what had happened. The timeline would seal up, fixed, maybe there would be rumours about there having once been treasures called Time Gears that have now vanished but overall the universe would have forgotten. But because that one Pokemon is there. Because they remember. Because of their love for you, their best friend in all the world... You still exist. Those memories of you will never be forgotten. And so... the paradox of your presence remains. The universe can cope with it. Dialga sees no reason to keep you from your partner any longer. "If you still feel that way, even after all this time..." And then, you return! Bidoof sees it, and remembers everything! "How could we ever forget...? Hey, look! It's...!" And your partner, who had broken down in tears, turns to see you, and all is right with the world!
You're nicer than me. I made it 2 years because that feels long enough for him to do that spreading our stories around. Hell i believed we had been a team for a year
This is the song I've come to associate with goodbyes. Over these past 8 years I have lost bearded dragons, snakes, betas, dogs, cats, birds, and family members. 2 weeks ago was the final dragons, Eragon and Razor. Eragon I somewhat saw coming in a karmic way as she wasn't exactly the nicest and oftentimes prioritized being a straight up jerk (biting our fingers, biting the tip of razor's tail twice, and biting my big beardie on the shoulder which ended up killing him despite more clear and better food options being present every other time). I played this song (the original) when laying her to rest all the same, but didn't cry. Razor passed 4 days after, and I will not lie, I didn't cry. I couldn't even play it, as I was bawling too much. I haven't cried like i am for Razor in years. Not for family, not for friends, not even for Rocco. That one little dragon who's pulled me from the depths of depression at least 5 times is what has made me cry the absolute most, and this song reminds me of each one lost, big and small, people or animal, especially Razor.
I'm writing my final thesis for my master's. Back in 2020, I finally played PMD Explorers of Sky, and Don't ever forget made me cry like a fountain..... And then you uploaded this masterpiece, and I have to take a small break because my eyes are watering. Truly, thank you Zame
A beautiful theme from one of the most beautiful OSTs in video-game history. Your arrangement brings so much emotion! You've outdone yourself. Love it.
Because the future was changed our character seizes to exist... But they'll never forget the friend they experienced so much things with, the friend that found them, the friend they got hungry with, the friend you gave courage to, the friend that helped you, the friend that believed in you, the friend that will tell your story, and the friend that was there when you returned... Thank you Dialga.
The first PMD I beat….. I was very heartbroken and started crying when I saw my pokemon vanishing. I thought I lost it forever but when I saw my pokemon come back…. I was happy and crying at the same time. I loved this game so much…. And i will never forget all the memories it gave me. Thank you Pokémon mystery dungeon for making my journey a reality.

What's wrong with you...? Player: ...Sorry, [Partner]. I kept this to myself for a long time... It looks like... I have to say good-bye... Partner: What?! Good-bye?! What do you mean?! Player: Dusknoir told me. If we change the future the Pokemon from the future would disappear. That's why I'm destined to disappear too. Partner: Huh? What? Wh-why? Player: Thank you for everything. I'm going to disappear from here now. But [Partner], I'll never forget you. Partner: W-wait a second! I only made it this far because you were with me, [Player]. Don't you understand? You made me strong [Player]. If you go, I... I don't know... What I would... Player: No, [Partner]. You have to be strong on your own. You have to live! You have to go home tell everyone about what happened here. So that nothing like this ever happens again. Partner: Urk... [Player]... Player: (...! The light... The light is getting brighter...) Partner: [Player]... Don't! Don't go! Player: Thank you for everything [Partner]. I'm glad we got to train together at the guild. I'm glad we got to go on adventures together. I'm glad... I got to know you. I'm so lucky I got to be your friend. Partner: I feel the same [Player]! To me, you're more important than anything! Player: Yes, I feel the same way. Even after I disappear from here, I will never forget you. [fades away] Partner: ...[Player]... [Player]! ...[Player]!! This game was written so well and I'll cherish it forever! Thanks for the new arragement Zame. Hoping for a new game or remake on Pokemon Day!
PMD2 was the first game to have ever made me cry. I was just a kid and I never really cried at stories, but this game introduced me to the magic of emotional storytelling. And just like that, my world quietly grew.
Currently im replaying explorers of sky on my new phone. I have lost many saves to broken phones, but now i have a new adventure as Blaze the Chimchar, and Riolu, but i will NEVER forget my first completed game. I will never forget you powerline the pikachu. Old friend.
I have played explorers of time/darkness/sky at least 10 times. Every single time, this scene makes me break down in tears. Even just hearing this arrangement is enough to make me feel every emotion all over again. This game has one of the best stories and most bittersweet ending in *any* video game, not just in Pokemon.
And this has convinced me to dig out my copy of Explorers of Sky and start another new adventure I’ve said it before, but is like His Theme before Undertale even existed. Pure bittersweetness in musical form. This ending makes me tear up every time
I am 30, and never played Sky until about 2 weeks ago. I was a huge fan of Blue Rescue Team, and fell off of Pokémon after Gen 4 until a year ago when I got back into gaming. I’ve been on a bit of a Mystery Dungeon kick for a while playing the Shiren the Wanderer games made by Chunsoft (seriously recommend if you haven’t played, it’s basically like an nuzlocke) and gave this one a go. The story is seriously one of the best in the franchise, up there with Legends Arceus, Gen 2-4. The gameplay wasn’t too difficult (Focus Punch is absolutely broken), but was hooked for the story. In the post game now and it just seems like I’ve scratched the surface. I’ll definitely be playing this one for a while, but that ending is so impactful.
MF I litterally had this Duo , me as the Riolu and my liitle Eevee that I called Bella... This song... i can not hear this song without shedding tears... even in the final moment when Dialga gives you another moment with your parther, I was alredy damaged.... it also called "i Don´t want to say Goodbye"
That song never fails to make me cry... I still remember the first time I heard that song for the first time playing under the blanket -.- Amazing memories
The PMD games were the only ones to genuinly make me tear up. I love how much heart is put into the story and the characters, a story written for the sake of writing a story, not for making profit and everything in the games, the atmosphere, the characters and especially the music reflect that
This is the reason on why I tried playing PMD explorers of sky... And it totally broke me down to tears... I never expected to cry from a pokemon dungeon game.. 😭
This scene/theme has always stuck out to me because this is arguably the first-and maybe only-time in the game where you speak directly to your partner. It’s not an inner-thought dialogue in your head or a “select a response” thing. You’re telling your partner that they are brave, that you cherish every moment you’ve spent with them, but that this is ultimately goodbye. And that’s ultimately what gets me every single time I hear this song.
I made a choice whenever I see a close friendship of mine fade away I’ll listen to arrangements of this theme and cry. It’s a way I mourn close friendships fading, and I think the name is very suiting…Don’t ever forget. Also this is definitely one of my top three favorite arrangements of “ Don’t ever forget “ and the art is so good but man it HURTS.
This is the only game to make me cry, not only when I beat it for the first time, but when I come back to the ending each time. Hearing the ending music with the knowledge that you won't be there with someone who is a true and dear friend, leaving them heartbroken and alone. . . It hurts in ways I can't explain with just words alone. Good job on the music.
Thank you to bringing me back these old but very good memories. I think it's the only music I can cry the moment I hear the first notes. Thank you again 😭
Easily one of the most genuine tear jerking moments in any Pokemon game. The first time I beat Explorers of Sku I literally teared up at this finale. This arrangement is both beautiful and tearjerking at the same time. Excellent work Zame
I don't know how many years it had been since I played this, about 15 or so AND I'M STILL CRYING ABOUT THIS I don't think any other game has ever done that to me.
Bro the timing couldn’t be more perfect. I just finished explorers of sky 2 days ago. Original cartridge and all. I was a mess after the ending and now I’m here crying again. Masterpiece
I may have never played the pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, but I have heard this very song through videos... ironically, those videos have been long forgotten, but the beat of the song has been engraved into my brain eversince... Ok, maybe not this remix, which is beautiful bytheway, I will not forget this song.
Isn't it crazy how this game's community has never died after all these years? It says so damn much about how good it was. You can hardly find a review without the word "masterpiece" in it.
My PMD instincts woke me up from sleep as this was uploaded. I remember completing the game for the first time while in class, and it's a good thing I was in the back because I was crying so much😢
The song bolt forever have a special place in my heart I'll never forget the adventures I had with Branch the Treecko and the tears that flowed as the song played😢
Probably not saying much since all I was playing before eot was mainline pokemon, but I think this song and scene was the first time a game made me cry or got me close to crying
I saw the thumbnail, i inmediatly knew what escene was from, and in my mind i was like "there is no way i'm clicking it, i don't wanna be depreso expreso", but then my hand had allready moved ahead and clicked on it... why do you betray me hand? T_T

That thumbnail hurts just as much as the song because Eevee and Riolu were my Player and Partner Duo in Explorers of Sky...😢💔
I had the same duo with the Riolu as the player and Eevee as the Partner.

One of the few games to genuinely make me cry, and it was this moment right here. This game is something that really, really touches your soul.
This umbrella speaks facts!
If only the mainline games could bring out emotion like this... I hate how much this theme (and scene) makes me cry
I'm afraid, my time has come to end
It's now here, since we've changed history

And I know, this parting hurts so much
But for you, there's more to be had

(In my heart, you're the key, and without you what would I be?)
Don't forget, this adventure we had

There are actual "with lyrics" videos on YT for all who like the idea! A lot of popular games have them. I recommend Fiddledo's

genuine question is people coming up with lyrics for BGM an autism thing?

Wasnt really a dark ending.
The story around darkrai was dark, but in the end he was defeated and everyone was happy
Rescue Team was merely introducing us to this world, before Explorers struck so damn hard.
The moment when my phanpy disappeared and vulpix was crying desperately broke my heart.
I was crying into my bed as my Mudkip faded away in front of my partner Pikachu's own eyes. Farewell Powerline.
*sniff* Im not crying, you're crying🥺
Im still hoping for a remake of Explorers one day.
I believe we all are, for both.

Pokemon mystery dungeon: explores of sky is a great game with an amazing soundtrack.

PMD2 really has an amazing soundtrack. Thank you zame. Arata liyoshi is an amazing composer.
Eevee closing Riolu's eyes... Like begging Riolu to not see him or her fade away. But it is inevitable...😢
Eevee can only be female in this game (and Riolu can only be male), so she doesn’t want him to see her fade away.

Thank you to bringing me back these old but very good memories. I think it's the only music I can cry the moment I hear the first notes.
Thank you again 😭
the name of the song, this melody, the thumbnail, the games themselves...
all are just so beautiful 😌❤
0:18 seconds in. And chills all over my body as a core memory reawakens and my heart breaks
This hits me right in the feels. Especially given that my duo was Riolu and Eevee. Bravo
Easily one of the most genuine tear jerking moments in any Pokemon game. The first time I beat Explorers of Sku I literally teared up at this finale. This arrangement is both beautiful and tearjerking at the same time. Excellent work Zame
This has always been one of the momentous scenes in such a beloved and emotional game. Thanks for this wonderful tribute Zame! ❤😊❤
That’s the best arrangement of a song, that brings me to tears, everytime
Thanks for a such beautiful theme again ❤️
I don't know how many years it had been since I played this, about 15 or so AND I'M STILL CRYING ABOUT THIS
I don't think any other game has ever done that to me.
Almost instantly as i heard the theme start i started to cry😢 this is such beautiful version
Music is beautiful. It's what you call "old gold".
Bro the timing couldn’t be more perfect. I just finished explorers of sky 2 days ago. Original cartridge and all. I was a mess after the ending and now I’m here crying again. Masterpiece
Each time I play this game I cry at this music !
Too much emotions
So beautiful ❤
I may have never played the pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, but I have heard this very song through videos... ironically, those videos have been long forgotten, but the beat of the song has been engraved into my brain eversince...
Ok, maybe not this remix, which is beautiful bytheway, I will not forget this song.
Didn't plan to cry tonight but HERE I AM NOW
Isn't it crazy how this game's community has never died after all these years? It says so damn much about how good it was. You can hardly find a review without the word "masterpiece" in it.
My PMD instincts woke me up from sleep as this was uploaded. I remember completing the game for the first time while in class, and it's a good thing I was in the back because I was crying so much😢
And this i why we need a explorers of sky remake for this emotional music❤❤❤
BEAUTIFUL
The song bolt forever have a special place in my heart I'll never forget the adventures I had with Branch the Treecko and the tears that flowed as the song played😢
I...I can feel something, something in my heart
Been waiting for this one. Right in the feels
"Don't cry Don't Don't cry"
"Proceeds to make waterfalls"
Probably not saying much since all I was playing before eot was mainline pokemon, but I think this song and scene was the first time a game made me cry or got me close to crying
Thank you for this amazing remix.
Damn, im tearing up just listening to this
A Don't Ever Forget remaster AND from Zame?

Beautiful textures here!
I love this song I remember playing Pokemon mystery dungeon explores of sky as a riolu and my partner was an Eevee and when I got to this part I cried

Misty's original voice actor died earlier today.
Don't ever forget Rachael Lillis
Rachael also played a role in the PMD Explorers specials.
Just finished watching banana fish.
The end made me depressed.
Now I need pmd music to make me feel better again.
PLEASE do Don’t Give Up from Super Mystery Dungeon next, you would KILL it!
good music
This game made my boyfriend cry 3 times in a row in the ending
I saw the thumbnail, i inmediatly knew what escene was from, and in my mind i was like "there is no way i'm clicking it, i don't wanna be depreso expreso", but then my hand had allready moved ahead and clicked on it... why do you betray me hand? T_T
