Wow they added back the “As Long As Your Mine” melody during Elphaba and Fiyero’s reunion. That was in the workshop in 2001 but they didn’t do it in Broadway.
the way glinda can fully see the melting happen here and not just the shadow of it 🥺 makes it so much more heart wrenching that she’s literally just watched her friend die
They have the set for it on Broadway. Just have elphaba stand on the rising platform she uses for No Good deed xD I wonder what they nyc version will take from this new stage design. Broadway Wicked does need some updates
@@NolanB91 i don’t think they will change anything. usually when a show finishes previews it can’t be updated anymore. the only time wicked was updated was in 2006 when it opened in the west end, and they changed some of the lightings, choreographies and costumes, but they were really minor changes.
A little small detail i noticed (if it was intentional) glinda when she's on the balcony is shifted to the right instead of in the middle as if she left space for elphaba and fiyero
OMG this is epic how they put Elphaba setting Fiyero on fire!!! What a plan to get away. I think the idea of Fiyero and Fire is interesting to think about..... one of his SCANDOLOUS skills he used to do that got him kicked out of multiple schools before ending up at Shiz.
Hi!

Out with it! *crosses down the staircase* Who want's to die first? How about you, Scarecrow? You look easily flamable! {And she threatens him with her smoking broom. Dorothy then grabs a rusty bucket from the floor and throws the water at the broom (they used glitter to represent the water here}, some of it hits Elphaba. Tin Man: *to Lion and Scarecrow* We must report this to the Wizard! *to Dorothy* Take her broom with you! {Dorothy grabs the broom and they exit. Glinda steps forward and crosses to the hat. Chistery enters.} Glinda: *sadly* Oh, Elphie! {Chistery slowly lifts the hat and sees that there's a small green bottle underneath. He holds it out to Glinda.} Chistery: Miss? Miss Glinda? Glinda: Chistery? You're>speaking?

They do have it on Broadway! It’s something i always look out for when i listen to the score!
They *do*. And the next time you go to WICKED on Broadway, listen very carefully underneath the end dialogue.
the way glinda can fully see the melting happen here and not just the shadow of it 🥺 makes it so much more heart wrenching that she’s literally just watched her friend die
And she wants to run over and say a last goodbye to elphie as she melts but she knows she can’t also Makes it so much sadder
@@transportandtheatrekid2298 And dramatic too.
I love how they play the no good deed notes at the start of the video
Love the melting scene. So much better than the awful curtain normally used.

@@musicalsunlimited3740 at least a cameo of Dorothy and friends.
@@vicentehizon6202 And a scene showing The Melting on screen with Dorothy "melting" Elphaba and her grand escape through the trapdoor.
This reminds of the combination of the 1939 MGM Film and the 1982 Anime film in the beginning of the video from 0:00 to 0:53
Can anyone translate this scene to english? I'm so curious as to what's being said between elphaba, the 4 friends and glinda and Chistery
Hey, I made german subtitles. Maybe it helps you to use the automatic translation into english.
