When my kid watches Evangelion I’m making damn sure they sit through all 53 awkward seconds of that elevator ride
Make them watch the hospital scene ☠️
But for real though, pace is just as important in anime as visuals or dialogues are. Putting everything in 2x will dull the impact of any scene that’s purposely slow and dragged out
it shall not be a second shorter
So now it’s Fauna watching Fauna watching Fauna watch her debut?
It's a tradition.
The modern internet has ruined the way people watch things lol. I spent years trying to get my sister to watch Attack on Titan, only to find out a couple months ago that she watched it, not in order, but random episodes from the third to last seasons. She told me she likes to "watch the ending stuff and then research about what happened before it." I don't think I've ever recovered from that realization.
I couldn't get into AoT but reading how she watches stuff stunlocked me for a good minute. That's just insane.
Sounds to me like she just wants to be able to have a conversation/discussion about AoT but not actually enjoy it 💀💀💀💀
She treated AoT like discovering an ancient civilization?
@@saltylemon4436 Honestly, probably a better experience than actually watching the whole damn thing
I think I'm gonna vomit
Fauna debut (slowed+reverb)
Faunightcore when?
Can't wait for fauna to make the same joke as her debut self
Watching an actually good show at any speed greater than the original should be a crime
Thing is, good cinematography is very rare in anime, and that’s what watching 1x speed is for. So usually you can fast forward an anime and miss nothing that makes it good
@@spook407pacing, music voice acting?
@@forstuffjust7735 can count on my fingers the number of anime with an actual good soundtrack. Bad pacing is literally why people speed up anime, most of them are bad at that as well
@@spook407I was about to get hella defensive on soundtracks and then I started counting and got to a tentative 6 good soundtracks lol. Sometimes I forget that I don’t watch like 90% of anime
@@spook407if you’re ever at a point where you have to speed up an anime to watch it you should probably just drop it because it sounds more like you’re forcing yourself to sit through it rather than actually watching it
Subathon watchalong of lord of the rings extended editions at 0.25x speed sounds like something I would weirdly enjoy
My brother hired a kid with these sorts of media habits. They said they have ADHD, so they need to have lots of stuff going on at once. They listened to some sort of podcast while watching a video and having a 30 second loop of music playing.
It did not help their ADHD. It did not help them focus. They no longer work for him.
There's probably some kind of acquired ADHD because of all the over exposure to sensory stimulation for today's children. They can't do anything unless their senses are bombarded and when they have all those senses occupied they became... occupied, and unable to perform anything else...
Having 2 things going at once is fine, like listening to a podcast or music while working. Any more than that and you're not really focused on anything.
On top of the fact ADHD is just made up BS to sell drugs.
I have ADHD. I was diagnosed in the 80's, by an actual doctor and a battery of rigorous testing. That's a bunch of bullshit. 😆
Two things at the same time _at most_ are probably fine, particularly with one of those two as ambience in the background _to help you focus._
More than that and you're literally asking for an entire multiplayer game to go on inside your head at once. I'm not surprised that kid got canned. lmao
The guy succeeded in making his ADHD worse. I am actually ADHD myself so I know what I'm talking about.
Watching One Pace at 2x speed because I don't want to spend years catching up
Watching highlights on youtube because I don't want to spend weeks catching up.
Is there any One Piece Abridged?
Edit: nevermind, that is One Pace
I started watching one piece in ×1.50 these days cuz it feels so slow
Have you heard of the manga?
I've recently caught up with the manga (thanks to a friend's advice) and really recommend it instead of anime. Oda is the God
I wish Fauna received a Neck patch that reduced her Neck length by half. Ever since someone mentioned it in comments a year ago I can't unsee it...
Granted, she now has Big Ed's neck.
Don't take away her neck bro she needs that to reach the leaves at the top of the canopy dawg
yes! 2024 fauna watching 2023 fauna watching 2022 fauna reacting to her debut.
just react to it normally. we need her to make the fursona joke yet again and then forget, yet again
Imagine watching Saiki Kusuo at 2.0x speed, gotta be a nightmare to understand.
The jokes fly by so quick they're just a blur
x0.25 is for when you have time to spend or want ambiance in the background
faunbiance
Faunebriated
I also watch nearly everything at 1.5X or 2X speed, unless there are subtitles on screen (e.g. anime episodes). And I tend to watch stream VODs at 4x or higher.
Dang there’s no defending watching sped up anime. That’s some genuine psycho nft crypto bro brainrot
Seriously. I wouldn’t even consider that quirky. That’s just sad.
Yeah this is hearing that a buddy of yours is so hardcore they drink a gallon of vodka a night and go to bed at 5am, that's why they have to work night shift jobs.
No. This is... this is not an okay thing to do. This is a bad thing to do.
I can understand why Bae and IRyS watching anime at accelerated speed since knowing about the interests of their viewers are important for their job, Also they are bound to multitask and speed-tasking during streams so being able to quickly process many interactions at the same time will make them better V-tubers. I'm already tired of thinking and handling multiple things that must be on time at work, so I want to just relax and enjoy my One Piece anime at 1x speed and play games while taking my time doing whatever fooling around I want in the game.
There are even certain shows I've had to run slowed down at times just to keep up, like _Saiki K_
The gall of you people to act like some anime don’t have atrociously slow pacing (D R A G O N. B A L L. Z. O N E. P I E C E (not pace)).
Sorry, but comparing me to a cryptobro snapped something inside me. You’re being rude. Not all zoomers who watch things sped up are overstimulated children. Not everyone is obliged to care about pacing with every show they watch.
I have also watched monster and legend of the galactic heroes, and those are very long, methodical shows. I don’t watch them sped up. I also worry for kids being overstimulated, but don’t be that asshole that slaps buzzwords you don’t like onto other things you don’t like when they have nothing in common.
Fauna debut stream, stoner metal edition
I'm so excited for the Debut rewatch again. It's always so hilarious. Love this Kirin. 😆
The 2x speed for IRyS slander l, at most she watches at 1.5x
I think it's warranted sometimes; I watched one piece at varying speeds between 1.5x-4x to catch up. Made it through 800 episodes in 15 days lolz
I actually sat down and watched a UA-cam video that was the egg fertilization scene from Son of the Mask slowed down to feature length, and same for Steamed Hams, and Never Gonna Give You Up slowed down to a half hour length, do I have an amazing attention span?
People who watch anything sped up need serious mental help. Imagine taking lesiure time to enjoy something and thinking: I NEED TO FINISH THIS AS FAST AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE
I've watched 10 min vid at 1.25/1.5 sometimes we want the info in the video but we cant skip a step so we just get the info *FASTER* on the other hand the sad truth is sometimes you dont have the time, I wouldnt watch sped up anime but I would speed up youtube if I have to choose between videos or show, just speed up video and you get to watch the show too
people who care so much about how people enjoy their leisure time need serious mental help
The folks at LTT talk slow though. Talking fast is a regional thing where I'm from. I don't speed up much else.
I'll admit I had all of one pieces big mama island at downloaded, and I had read it all too... so to catch up to the anime, I watched at 2 to 2.5x speed.
but only that time, I couldn't watch a new anime at 1.5x speed.
BaeRyS is never gonna make it through Endless Eight if they choose to watch it...or maybe get through all of it in an hour or so lol
That's like some Subathon type shit. 😆
So Adorable
Boomi Fau has Actual Intellect and Taste
I Know; Frightening for Some
Omagine skipping cut scenes
why does it matter what speed people watch it, thats how they enjoy it
Me, watching this clip at 2.5x speed, feeling called out.
you should, I have 6 out of 10 severity ADHD and I consider you insane and worthy of pointing fingers at if you do that
Watched this at 3x speed, I got things to do
Not that anime has great acting in the first place, but damn, watching at increased speed kills any kind of mood they try to set outside of "GOTTA GO FAST". That is literally crazy. I'm imagining all the movies and shows that go through the process of building tension, and thinking of them at 1.5 or 2x speed and it just kills all that tension. I wonder if that is why TV and movies just suck so much these days and are woefully inferior to what we had 10, 20, and 30 years ago? Because the younger generations that don't understand the importance of taking it slow are out there making this shit now and it's awful as a result. Zoomers literally killing entertainment because their brains are too fried to feel anything that isn't in a coffee filled ADHD haze.
There's still some incredibly talented artists working in cinema, television, and animation. I think it has more to do with the homogenization of the largest genres (Action and comedy go almost hand in hand now), but even then I think it has much more to do with what studios are willing to green light. A lot of production companies don't want to take risks. They'd rather light up a sure profit movie, with a big lead actor or two, and a predictable plot. They're here for return on investment, not art. That's not the new film makers faults, that's the businessmen's.
Anime has terrible pacing. Long silences and pauses to save on animation budget.
@@shorewall Bad anime has terrible pacing, yes, and like most media categories there is more bad than good. Try not watching bad anime and it might help
@shorewall you have literally no idea what you're talking about lol. It's called pause for dramatic effect
@@CrizzyEyes yes, you can have pauses for dramatization butt a lot of animes push it to the limit because there's literally no enough content in them to justify making it to the 24 minute mark or because they try to stretch it to at least 12/24 episodes. Or they go full ham and make a 78 episodes monstrosity when it should've been 32.
Tl;dr Pacing is an art and the amount of shows that have really good pacing regardless of everything else in them are not that many.
I watch 95 percent of my UA-cam vids on 2x speed, recently tried it on some trash isekai but it's too hard to read the subs, maybe the trick is to do it dubbed?
Me watching at 3.5x speed
X 1.2 speed all the time
I don't usually watch animes at twice the speed, but I binge watched Kaiju 8 gou before the last episode was out and there was a point that the episodes dragged so much that I simply 2x it, I would 1x in the action scenes though, those are worthy, but the cheesey dialogue? Nah...
So many people offended by not watching things at 1.0x speed its ridiculous. Not everything is some master of pacing with something constantly important. Not every anime is BakeMonogatari, and not every tv show is Police Squad. A few years ago, I switched to watching all youtube videos at 2x because it annoyed me how slowly people speak (even 2x is slower than my natural speaking speed for a lot of channels).
I have to install an extension to allow me to watch videos at 2.5 or 3x speed. I legit think that 1.0 speed is for people who are VERY weak in the language of the media they are consuming. no way natives can find 1.0 speed normal
The x speed thing is insane.
I find that a lot of shows have terrible pacing, maybe because they somehow have to make it to the standart 12/24/48 minutes mark without enough content or it's simply extended for dramatization, and have to watch them at 1.25x or more.
You can also have the contrary effect of too much in little time but that is unfixable even if lowering the speed.
Fauna is so right for that manga comment. I can never get into manga because I want the sound and the voices and the color and the motion. Sitting in a silent room scrolling just doesn't do it for me. I respect it as an art form, but anime is just better.
slowing down and allowing for reflection time is better for your mental health though...just saying comming from an actual ADHD person
