    The most common faults on 900's and 9000's with the ABS are..... Dirt/stones in the pickup rotors on the hubs. Or, Broken wires on the ABS sensors where the suspension goes up and down all the time. Eventually fracturing the wires. This can be tested with a multimeter across the sensor plug and moving the wire to see of the resistance changes. Additionally, even if you fixed the issue, you will still need to use an ISAT unit to clear the codes in the ABS box. Or, Swap the ABS ecu for another one that doesnt have any codes stored.

      Thanks so much for the info mate ! This kind of stuff is really helpful - luckily I have someone with an ESAT!

      @@TheSaabClinicUK so are you saying that the anti-lock and brake fluid lights will remain on until I clear the codes ??

      @@theclassicsaabguy236 Yes absolutely. They wont just go off. Same with the SRS airbag computer, that also needs codes to be erased by ISAT to clear the light.

      @@TheSaabClinicUK ok that's new information ! So maybe you can help with this - before I changed out the pump the brake pedal was rock hard now it hires to the floor and I have no brakes at all ?? I have no clue what to attempt next

    My unit works but the threads on the pump that accumulator goes into are stripped. Could I just replace the pump while keeping the rest of the assembly attached to the vehicle?

    Read ABS codes, with ignition OFF, jumper the wires on the diagnostic socket, turn ignition ON, remove the jumper, read the flashes on the ANTI LOCK light, each code is 4 digits

      Hi yeah it was the first thing I did - got an error code of 1222 which apparently is the most common code that comes off the diagnostic socket and points to lack of pressure but not the cause - after replacing the pressure switch, pump, accumulator , bleeding the brakes , testing the ECU I still have no brakes.

    Where did you locate the ABS pump as its own part? I've only seen the entire MC assembly for sale.
    Currently working through my own brake issues, and it's definitely the pump itself.

    Did you ever fix the brakes ? What was the problem ? Was it the accumulator ?

    • @theclassicsaabguy236
      @theclassicsaabguy236  3 роки тому +1

      It was a combination of the pump and pressure switch ! Fixed now

      @@theclassicsaabguy236 but in the video you said that you replaced both the pump and the switch and still have the problem. How eventually did you solve the problem? also, what were the symptoms of no brakes? was the pedal very hard or very soft?

    The easy fix is to remove that pesky light bulb for the ABS dash light! 8^)
