    • @MyAZFamily
      @MyAZFamily 5 років тому +23

      Jessica Flesher This is far from the Doctors fault. She either made gypsie that ill or they took Dee Dee’s word. She kept gypsie very thin to where she appeared medically fragile. If Dee Dee forced malnutrition and claimed GI issues the doctor is going to step in with proper help. As they should. Another example is that her salivary glands were removed. That wasn’t the doctors fault either. Dee Dee had her taking a med that made her drool so that they would agree to the surgery.

She hasn't gotten to feel love ever except for what her and Nick had. She probably understand how precious time is and wants to just have love for once.

    I know I've made 4000 comments on this case but I honestly feel like he saved Gypsy's life. I think as Gypsy got older and really knowing she wasn't sick and wanting to be normal, I think her mother would have eventually killed Gypsy. I so see that happening.

      I think some of the Doctor's evaluation questions are "out-dated" ... I have noticed that, quite a few people in this same age group also don't know what "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" mean either. Also, ever been somewhere in public where a fire breaks out? People DO tend to yell, "FIRE!" and run out. Only folks with an experienced background would know NOT to panic the crowd in such a manner.

    • @bayshorelaw6970
      @bayshorelaw6970 5 років тому +6

      His reply "That's exactly what you don't want to do" is rather bizarre. Fires are dangerous and unpredictable- I'd assume especially so in theaters which are small places that have a lot of electrical/insulation/soundproofing within walls & lots of people. I know the answer he wants is probably "Calmly and quickly get up and tell an employee so the theater can be safely evacuated". If I saw a fire, there would be NO WAY I'd trust a 16 year old AMC employee who would likely call the manager for help. I'd immediately get up, and as I was walking towards an exit yell it out & help evacuate. Who knows if by the time you got to an employee & they put a plan in motion if the fire would have grown to a level that was uncontrollable. People lives are in danger- they need to know & act quickly.

    • @rage.against.the.regime1913
      @rage.against.the.regime1913 5 років тому +3

      Exactly, what else would you do. There are fire exits in each theater. Say, uh everyone, there's a fire and walk to the damn exit. I mean are you supposed to go get a bucket of water, and just put it out, lol.

    • @elletyree983
      @elletyree983 5 років тому +5

      It’s about not producing hysteria. If you yell fire everyone will jump up at once and stampede the door and many will become injured. That is why they don’t want you to yell fire. It’s common sense. But in a fire it’s also logical that you don’t want anyone to die so you would automatically yell fire to save as many as you could, because it feels like the most practical thing to do. Considering how fast a fire spreads. So the hypothetical shows empathy for others mostly.

My niece was diagnosed Aspergers and when she found out it wasn’t used anymore she said “I don’t have it anymore.” She’s ASD level 1, but is more handicapped by anxiety and stress now as an adult than as a child. She graduated college and is a project manager with an apartment with roommates. Godejohn is a ASD Level 2. He has moderate Autism, verbal, and low functioning but at a level 2 he presents a danger to himself and others. He wouldn’t have killed anyone if gypsy hasn’t asked him too. He should have got 20 years then release. Nick obviously has a severe mental disability. This should always be taken into consideration during trials like this. And the sentence should be changed accordingly.

    I think this dr explained the spectrum and the new ability of understanding with this and how board it is . As a mother of a child on this spectrum I know some people are ignorant to understanding how complicated it can be with a high functioning adult on the spectrum that is lacking general understandings of basic human reactions interactions and concepts no matter how hard you try to teach and guide... it's a brain wiring issue and can be invisible disability to people that don't understand and they classify them as a mental health and danger to society problem. This guy actually isn't representing people with autism well at all. The defendent is a sociopath with classic cluster b symptoms, not someone on with Autism Spectrum Disorder. He is picking and choosing symptoms to make this sociopath seem ASD instead. He didn't test him on any scale for personality disorders like sociopathy or NPD (narcissistic personality disorder) making his assessment null and biased. People with Autism have empathy, emotions, and a sense of right and wrong, they just dont show it in affect, but they rate super high on testing for empathy, honesty, and caring very deeply mostly.
    Do you know how many sexual predators and violent abusers try to claim Autism to avoid taking responsibility or to get away with it? A lot. And do you know how much it pisses me off as a behavior analyst myself? A lot.

      Psychology is a joke. These test can easily be cheated. You can't read another person's mind. You can get a vague idea of one's general behavior, but there are to many factors and situations that simply can't be demonstrated in a 4 hour "evaluation". Most psychologists end up quitting because for one, they wanna blow their brains outs from trying to fix something that is different from one person to the next, nothing is typical. The dsm could be rewritten every year.

      Well, after listening to both this man and the other, they do agree he is on the spectrum, but it probably wasn't a factor in his comprehension of the situation. His IQ while lower was still considered average. The main thing it affected was his response time. I think the other doctor explained it better and possibly did a more thorough job on evaluating him. After hearing from both the doctor's, Gypsy, the lady who interviewed him and the texts, I get the sense that Nick was no way impaired in his decision making in this case. Had Gypsy sprung this on him as a sudden thing and he had little time to react,maybe. But he had plenty of time to process it, and even though Gypsy suggested it, he was highly involved in the planning.

Her interview did not indicate that she was a neglectful mother, but quite the opposite. You have to remember that information came from her ex-husband. We have no way of knowing what their relationship was like. He could have been bitter or resentful because of the marriage, divorce, and/or custody issues. Look up his mom’s interview with detective. You may walk away with a different impression of his mom.

    I mean, in Nicks defense for the proverbs, I had absolutely no idea what “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush” meant until I just now looked it up. I’ve never heard of that phrase in my life.

    This poor girl shouldn't have done one day in prison. She was imprisoned by her mother since she was a toddler. I also hope she gets paid for the show based on her story. It's so sickening that a mother would do such horrific things just for money and attention.

    Hold up. I recently saw a TED talk regarding the Rorscach Inkblot test, and it said that it's not used by psychologists very much anymore, because it's said to have inconsistencies. ua-cam.com/video/LYi19-Vx6go/v-deo.html. Also, if his interpretation was basic, how was he able to create all those crazy fantasies he had with Gypsy? You have to be somewhat intelligent to make up those kinds of stories, UNLESS he was mimicking (echolalia) what he saw in movies, internet, etc. Also, I also don't know what the bird and the bush one means, AND probably bc I would freak out, I would yell "Fire!" and run out of the building too. Just being honest okay. Fires are QUICK - that would probably be the smart thing to do if you're trying to save yourself...but you also need to think about other people - the PC answer would be the opposite. He was probably just being honest.

    Poor kid. These assessment tests don't indicate anything, this is bullshit. DAT test especially. I think abstractly and I can't describe those last two "A bird in the hand something about a bush ". I don't know what it interprets to even though I've heard it so many times. And yelling "fire" is obviously not the greatest thing to do but his frame of thought is to notify everyone so they can get the f out of that situation quickly. This is so subjective it's kinda sick.

    It's a good thing he didn't work inside the pizza parlor. Kitchen no less and making pizza. After I learned he was doing something weird in a McDonalds for 9 hours, just sitting in there. At what time is enough enough. Nine hours, whewwwweee! There is no excuse for what he ultimately did.
