For everyone that thinks this was "click bait". This teaches you that talent and skill isn't enough to go pro. Scump talked about the drive to win, creating an atmosphere of only caring about being the best. We can all agree Scump was the most talented player back in the day, but it was sacrifices and focus that brought him to where he is today. He taught the most important lesson to become pro. The strive to be the best and surrounding yourself with people that do the same.
I love how he gives so much props to RamboRay, guy is a legend even though whenever the whole esport thing really took off he was in a downwards spiral individually so he isn't really known by fans these days
even if you don't want to go pro in video games....this helps in real life sports and other things in life as it shows that u need determination to get somewhere
Practice is key . People think by being the best you have to slay and do this wrong it's about having good vibes and always think positive and practice and never give up win or lose . That's how you will improve . Trust me
Christopher Labedzski yeah the pros start good it would seem. Most pros probably got way better than the average player after a week of playing video games.
Christopher Labedzski if you practice mistakes you won’t improve, I’m 14 and I’m the best player in my school, I used to be so shit but after recognising what I need to work on, I improved, sometimes it’s natural but a lot of pros have been playing since they have been young.
Great video. The quick short story of Scumps journey to where he is now. Most people will never understand it takes blood, sweat and tears to be a pro player. I've learned a lot from Pro Players like Scump.
I'm 12 years old and I have been playing cod for 3 years and now I'm playing bo4 at this time and my kd is 2.60 and I have been watching over my brother play since modern warfare 2 and Seth more known as scump and this just encourages me to be better but I am scared of the consequences. And I hope I see this in the future and say I made it but it was a struggle
That was super thorough on like every aspect of how he went about trying to become the top player in every situation, game, year. Like damn scump thank you!
I've always been naturally good at gaming. Started with Halo also then COD. I just lived in an area that only had dial-up internet. So I couldn't ever play online on my own time I'd always have to be at a friends house to play. I'l always feel like I could've gone pro had I lived in a better area with a good connection. I matched with scump on bo2 league play once. I would have rather played against him but we ended up crushing them. He dropped about 45 kills I dropped 37.
Blakericha93 I think you should say you've always been good at fps gaming or some other category encompassing shooters. I feel you about the internet killing your future.
Scump is so inspirational! His story is similar to mine starting CoD around the age of 12/13 playing competitive games. As I done after boxing, I was great... just needed more people who wanted to do it with me but no one had the belief they could so I had to give up
I feel you man. Not trying to be cocky but I got really fucking good during bo3 but no one I knew had the belief and consistency I did. I should’ve gone to events and met more people. But I didn’t go about it in the right way. Now cod is dying and all my connections don’t give a shit about going pro. So now when I get on I play Smite and H1z1 for fun. Occasionally I’ll hop on bo3 to pub stomp and relive that great game.
6:56... Wow. Yeah, never thought of it that way. I play with friends who are ok and can get kills but aren't very strategic/forward-thinking. That is how we lose games and it is so frustrating.
Very interesting video, he really knows the game, one thing that stuck with me however, he always wanted to move from one team to what he said was a better team, my mentality has always been to beat that best team and become the best team that way, not knocking him or saying he is wrong, he has done quiet well for himself after all as he is one of the best COD players out there...
This helped me out so much. Ive been doing this since high school and gave up trying to compete professionally Now I’m to old trying to get back on it but aye never know.
I have a question I have a clan and the two people in the clan barley play we don’t practice should I kick them but there my freinds but it’s nothing personal what should I do?
I think I remember playing with/against Stainville in MW2, for some reason I remember that name.. I quit playing games for years, I just recently started playing COD again for the first time damn near since MW2
I thought about the same thing. But I have children now that take up most of my time. I’m probably better than I was 10 years ago. All I had a was a great shot but I’m more well balanced at video games.
Scumps beginning story is way to close to mine like way to close..... none of my friends won’t even play with me at this point of gaming and I’ve recently been trying to purchase a game capture to record my clips thank you scump I’ve always watched you since I was young if I’m a pro gamer in 10 years from now you were an inspiration
I honestly just need someone like he had Rambo to help him learn how to play the game like that. I have a good game sense and a great shot just need a few pointers on a few things
I mean I don’t mean to discredit anything he said but after he join Optic it wasn’t “smooth sailing” he endured ALOT of Ls on the way. After CRIMSIX got picked up you can say it was “smooth sailing” that’s when optic got back to winning tournaments
Call of duty is not my game I'm glade to see this video. I use to get so titled and mad so easy and still and would like not let that titled or salt get to me.
In my case… I had a shot, took it… and Missed… To think if I’ll ever reach the Higher Ranks. So, I Stagnated, thinking it’s not for me. I had big plans to try out and be in Competitive Gaming and make it On Stage… Instead, Reality takes me to where I am instead of there… Working Nights in the Hotel Business. Every Night… I now ask this Question. “What is it that they have that I don’t?” - Having to find Answers to that question… I just want to know what it is that they have that I didn’t have, that I should’ve had to keep going. So, I look back, trying to figure out how I came up short.
that shit applies on real life if you got a friend who just sits on the couch and watches tv and you are training working hard its not gonna work. surround yourself with people with your drive and you will succeed
Darrion Demase Not really. If they're pro already, they're not really worried about their position being taken by some amateur, lol. Especially not if they're one of the top players in the game.

Him and censor prolly the most humble ppl in gaming on god
Humble? He was one of the most arrogant and ignorant players ever with a huge ego but i still love him he changed now but dont forget the past

i come back here to humble myself every so often
