Awesome. Luckily my bath room is small with mold spots above the shower. I have a ladder stool but buying one of these wpuld5 be great because I could wash down all the walls in my house easily. Will look into it thanks.

I have tall ceilings and a tiny bathroom. Our fan is really old and is loud and doesn't work that well which is the reason for the mold growth. We got a new fan to install.
I was not looking forward to wedging a ladder in my bathroom to clean with a scrub brush. I didn't even think about using anything else but a bristle brush.
I am tight on money so I don't want to make a trip to the city to get a tool(I'll have to check under my sink for the spray, otherwise I can go down the road to Dollar General.), so I will put a microfiber towel on my swiffer!

Worked like a charm. The scrub tool was 6 bucks for just the head. That's all I needed with a step stool. I had to buy kaboom with bleach for mold and mildew because tilex was not the kind shown.
Also, i removed everything, but forgot floor mats. I did get a few drops on them unfortunately
I wonder how efficient the bathroom fan is? Might need to be cleaned or replaced. Also, I wonder if the paint on the walls are the correct kind for bathrooms?
I’ve done this and then used Kilz mold and mildew primer to paint over it

@@chasingamurderer totally just realized this was from when I was pregnant with my last one 😂 literally pregnant again. Oh how time flies. Turns out the mold on that bathroom went away after these steps because I bought a dehumidifier. But I didn't notice the vent in our other bathroom wasn't working well so the other bathroom had some slight mold. Cleaned again, fixed the vent, all is good now. No one has chronic illnesses or asthma or any other issues due to mold thankfully
@WhyWouldYou821 slight is different from in drywall. If wver it gets in the drywall, forget it. Congratz on the baby!

The mold/mildew in this old motel is ingrained & seems to be impervious to bleach & a commercial concentrate called Jomax. Any tips or is retiling the only solution?

I have tilex mold and mildew spray and it claims to have bleach in it. Followed the directions and the mold spots haven't gone away.

Tilex has bleach in it. You don't have to add more bleach.
This might be a dumb question, but does thiis mean that this is just mold on the surface (outside of the wall) or it is coming from within the walls?

I have used this method for several years before this video was made. I always would do a hot water wash first. Then do a treatment of the mold and mildew remover and let it set for like an hour and then either reapply and let it set fir an hour again, if I really felt it was needed. Finally, I would finish the process off by using a mix of 1 part white viegar to 3 parts HOT water. I usually need to do this about 2 to 3 times a year. Usually twice and even then it's noticeable, but not by much. Hope this helps you out.

in that situation you probably have water/moisture coming into the house. You want to find the source and repair the roof or wherever the leak is. Then you can treat the existing mold.
@@AndrewDIY it has been fixed. Its a matter of cleaning the stucco. I'm not sure what to use on it.

That looks like the same one I just bought. They are separate at Walmart. The end piece and rod were like 16 together.

I would wear gloves, goggles, face mask and shower cap just to be safe. Best if you use rod, you may have a fall.

You can not clean mold on a drywall. You must remove it by cutting the infected areas.

@@ESPonMe I know a person who got very sick from inhaling mold. The mold created a hole in one of his lungs. You can not play games with mold you should treat it as Hazard.

I have an inspection coming up in November. Maybe I should leave it and ask them to fix it? My kid has asthma and the mold could start affecting her. And my husband has an allergy to it as well. I got a scrubtastic spin brush to reach it because I’m too short to reach.
This is only a surface level clean. The mold could be much further into the wood. Pls pls cut out the area and replace it. Mold might have spread to nearest areas as well
I hate to burst your bubble about anything with bleach in it to kill mold, but I saw a documentary on Katrina and the aftermath where the mold had grown about 5 ft up inside the house. And the man that was documenting this program on Katrina ask how do you get rid of that mold do you use bleach. And the man answered and said this program on Katrina asked how do you get rid of that mold do you use bleach. And the man answered and set, no bleach actually feeds the mold and it will continually come back. I don't know exactly what they used but it was not bleach because bleach feeds the mold and keeps it alive. But I have had a problem with mold in my bathroom and I take my Swiffer Sweeper and I took a regular washcloth on the Swiffer Sweeper and then I apply alcohol and the alcohol takes all the mold out completely. Alcohol kills the mold. It's the best thing I had because I had a real problem with mold in the bathroom but that's what does it. Also leave your bathroom door open after taking a shower and allow the room to lose the moisture and dry the bathroom out. It's the moisture in the air that feeds the mold

Yes and no. It all depends how old the place is and how well it's been treated with proper care.
