Nalanda university was world first university apart from Buddhism other secular knowledge was also taught such as medicine, astrology Sanskrit grammar and other . Universities faced many obstacles and last was most destructive as Muslim invaders slaughtered more than ten thousand monks and burned all the books. Since then it was became ruined. At its golden era many scholars from China, Korea and Tibet studied in universities and then returned home and translated all the Indian knowledge into local languages. One of famous principal and professor of nalanda university was Canchen Shiwatso who visited Tibet from invitation of Tibetan king trisong . Who in turn recommended to king to invite Pema sambawa which we called guru Rinpoche. Guru Rinpoche also studied in Nalanda university. Admissions into universities was based on entrance exam which was conducted by gatekeeper. Famous Naropa was one of gatekeeper of university. Tibetan Buddhism is purely transmitted and translated from Nalanda tradition. Most famous abbot of Nalanda university was such as nagajuna, Candhragidhi etc.
Nice vlog. I got to know this (your) channel through sangay di's vlog. ✨ Well can you please tell me the intro music name?? I also do vlogging, i love it that's why I am asking this...
Nalanda was known during the time of Buddha as a birth place of Sariputra and Monglianna two principal devotees of Buddha is depicted two as standing on left and right (Sariputra) of Buddha. Nalanda as centre of advanced centre of Buddhism much later from 5th to 12AD.
We may not know the exact details ( my bad 😆🤣😅 ) but we knew that it was one of the Oldest University. In various monuments it was written that they were old Monasteries with no such as Monastery no 1, 2, etc and “MONASTERY” = “TEMPLE” 😁
