I was searching for this comment. The first time I saw this film I was rather young, and this scene in particular along with the one where she saves Tombo at the end are the only two that stood out in my memory due to the strong emotional associations I had at the time of seeing them.
I love that he starts out almost trying to be babish-style and then as the episode goes on he gets more comfortable being more him and I love to see it! Alvin I love your style and it makes for some really compelling content! Can’t wait to see what else you get up to!

I have to say, I was skeptical when there was suddenly another voice telling me how to make anime food in my BCU, but Alvin has grown on me quite a bit. I like his style, where I am never quite sure if he is joking or not.
I remember going to the bakery that was the inspiration to the one in Kiki's Delivery Service! Ross Village Bakery in Tasmania is the spot - great pies and the vanilla slice is addictive! 😋😋😋😋😋

If you ever decide to do this again i highly suggest using fresh herring of accessible!! As a swede the fresh stuff is awesome and has a very nice and almost sweet flavour and just in general is nice!! Love this video and thank you Alvin for this awesome pie vid

Canned herring? This is new! I usually use fresh herring. The city Kiki moves to is by the sea, so it's not unlikely the old lady would be able to buy some fresh. I layer it herring, bechemel sauce, baked and mashed kabocha and then puff pastry!

My man! I rarely hear anyone talk about that show! Back when I was in college I tried to make my own version of the Yakisoba pan, altering some instant ramen and using rolls I got for cheap to save money! lol

This movie was a massive part of my childhood. Every night as kids, my brother and i had movies on when we went to bed, and one of the ones we had on repeat was Kiki. I'm surprised we haven't worn out the tape, although the VHS's casing did get cracked. Nowadays i have it on my phone because my VCR has a habbit of eating tapes lately. I still need to get a purple gown/dress like hers
