- Hi guys!
Today I have for you the first tutorial about painting an Easterling Warrior's helmet with the NMM technique. The helmet turned out to be more complex then I expected so I had to split the tutorial into two parts. On Friday I will upload here the second part about creating smooth color transitions on the helmet, and on Monday I will upload on www.patreon.com/flameonminiatures a step-by-step PDF tutorial about painting an entire Easterling Warrior miniature with the NMM technique (It will be another Easterling Warrior, a one with a spear and shield). You can also find on my patreon over 300 tutorials about painting other miniatures, or simply support my work there.
I hope you will enjoy this tutorial :)

Hi, I admire your work for quite some time. Don’t listen to people that saying they have armies to paint. There are plenty of other channels that offer quick paint jobs. They want you to teach them how to achieve your result in 15 min which is not realistic. You are an AMAZING painter keep the great job mate and ty for the tutorial
That's very nice of you, thank you! :)
If it's not from the Flameon region of youtube it's not true nmm, it's just sparkling gradient.
Great video.
Have i found the most underrated channel for mini painting?
Your NMN is mindblowing... you can truely sell the effect. I will follow your tutorial like a bible from now on
O wow! That’s very nice of you! Thank you very much! 🙂
Great video! The tip about taking photos of the nmm on the miniature in the process with a monotone background (white being the most neutral) is really important and most of the time not really talked about
What brush do you use to keep such a sharp point on your tip? Or is it some kind of technique? My brush points always split, even from new, and I don't know how to keep them sharp.
I had the same question! It has a huge belly, too
He mentions it in the video.
Winsor and Newton series 7 size 2. He constantly reapplies fresh paint to the brush
Regarding the W&N series 7 "Miniatures: series, I find they are best for painting with oils where the sorter bristles give more control to physically blend the paints. The regular series 7 are very good for acrylics with their longer bristles and larger reservoirs.
Great content, really enjoying this.
Great, again LOTR in your video ;) Im fan of your tutorial NMM.
What brushes do you use?
Really cool tutorial.
When will the Easterling NMM blade and armor painting guide be available?
Very nice! Calming to watch you paint and you might even learn something👍🏻 A big win win
Btw are you working on an entire army or just a few figures?👀
I'm painting one miniature at the time, and I will see where the road will take me. I don't play, but I really like LOTR miniatures and one of the reasons why is because I can paint them very quickly, while I usually work on Warhammer miniatures for months :D
Do you use magnifying glasses or something like that while painting?
Awesome work and a very helpful video! What brushes do you use that stay so sharp? Mine always fray and lose their tips, lol.
Psht. If people have armies to paint, then they shouldn't use a time consuming technique like NMM on their armies. That's what TMM is for. I'm attempting to get my head around NMM at this time, and videos like this come in handy for me to help demystify this technique. Good work, sir!
