The truth is that they have to consider who will both impact the team (Demidov has massive upside) and fit a plan to maximize the utility of the players around them and stability of the core the team can protect long term. You can protect 7 forwards. You may only protect 3 Defenders. I happen to have a lot of clients in my business from the team and the read I am getting is the team is very aware of this and very high on Luneau, Mintyukov and Zellweger. I know for a fact that they have been looking deeply into forwards including Demidov for some time.
I feel like I can practically guarantee you that Demidov is the pick, it just feels so obvious to me Chicago picking Levshunov would be like MTL picking Reinbacher on steroids. It’s a fine player but you’re just ignoring some of the sheer potential available to you. And a Demidov-Bedard duo would be absolutely unbelievable if Demidov works out, probably will end up better statistically than Kane-Toews did as a duo honestly

It makes absolutely no sense for the Flyers to take Sennecke. They already have Konecny, Michkov, Tippett, Foerster, Brink and Hathaway at RW. It's literally the LAST position they would draft. They need a number 1 defenseman and a number 1 center, so there's no chance they take Sennecke over Yakemchuk. No chance.
Buffalo already has Krebs, Savoie, and Benson. I do not see the logic in selecting Catton, who is another undersized player. They need more presence on the blue line.
The answer to your qualm is that he is a true center. The next best center in the organization after Cozens is Ostlund!! All these other impressive but undersized forwards we’ve drafted have turned out to be wingers, but there is a LOT of Brayden Point in Catton. In most other drafts the kid would be top 5. He’s not 5’8 like a Benson
this early in the draft you pick the best player available, Demidov could be as big as Draisaitl in frame, buddy is bulking up. the 18th should be by position or traded either up or down or used to acquire someone like Chychrun (Luke Richardson’s Nephew)
I definitely think Helenius makes the top 10. He was so good in a league of men already, plus he’s got size and a great two way game. I think he’s gonna be taken earlier than most expect.

There is 2 ways to look at it. Follow the oilers route and have 2 superstar forwards and build around it. Or follow the Avs and have a superstar forward and a superstar D and build around it. I personally think have one up front and one on the back end is a better way to balance your team. But that’s just me.

Kyle Davidson is believed to like Demidov a lot despite some FO people believe Lev should be the pick. Kyle always goes BPA. I doubt he steers clear of that philosophy especially when he’s drafting top 3
Do not sleep on Catton. The guy is thought of as a top-5 worthy player by many. There’s a lot of Brayden Point to him, and he’s a good 3 inches taller than guys like Benson. He’s gonna end up at like 5’11 185 and be fine. The important thing here is us getting a third line center finally. Catton is underrated 200 ft and has game changer potential offensively

Catton has shown no reason to think he’ll move to the Wing, whereas a lot of our smaller guys played a good amount of Wing prior to getting drafted

Flyers have been top-heavy with wingers for quite a few years now, they come out of this draft with a Center. They'll trade for a Center or draft for one on draft day. Wings and D are not their target atm, especially with Michkov coming over and no clear #1 or #2 Centers on the team. Coots is a 3rd line center now, folks need to understand this. This team is now Michkov's and they need to put pieces around him now, not Coots, not TK, they are no longer the future of the Flyers organization.

We definitely need a high end wing but if Chicago does take Demidov, Levshunov will fill that role of a potentially elite RD the Ducks still need. At this point I do think it would be a mistake for Verbeek to pass on Dmidov if he falls to third.

@@ducksgo The thing about young players is it takes a while. Zegras had a down year, but if he stays pencil him in for 65 plus points. Terry is roughly a 60 plus point per season player. McTavish has improved each year so expect more of that. Carlsson had a good rookie year and it is too bad he had injuries. He will be something special but it will take another year or two. Not sure where Gauthier as a third line player is coming from but every report I have seen on him the past two years has him pegged as a top six guy with potential to be a top line plyer. It will be his rookie season so doubtful he is a 60 point guy, but give him time. The ceiling for the Ducks young forwards hasn't even come close to being reached. They are going to be good! Even without a Demidov. The thing is like all prospects, young players usually take a few years at the professional level to start showing what they can really do. Most likely even after this draft the Ducks have at least one more season drafting in the top ten (next year) but it won't be much monger until they are lighting it up. The group being put together is looking really good even if they still need more time.

We definitely need a high end wing but if Chicago does take Demidov, Levshunov will fill that role of a potentially elite RD the Ducks still need. At this point I do think it would be a mistake for Verbeek to pass on Dmidov if he falls to third.
@@AnaheimRobI don’t know where you’re going to get your scoring from. Nathan Gaucher is a third liner at best. And after that Anaheim has no forwards they already made the team from its prospects. Unless Stamkos is signed I don’t know where the scoring is coming from
@@ducksgo The thing about young players is it takes a while. Zegras had a down year, but if he stays pencil him in for 65 plus points. Terry is roughly a 60 plus point per season player. McTavish has improved each year so expect more of that. Carlsson had a good rookie year and it is too bad he had injuries. He will be something special but it will take another year or two. Not sure where Gauthier as a third line player is coming from but every report I have seen on him the past two years has him pegged as a top six guy with potential to be a top line plyer. It will be his rookie season so doubtful he is a 60 point guy, but give him time. The ceiling for the Ducks young forwards hasn't even come close to being reached. They are going to be good! Even without a Demidov. The thing is like all prospects, young players usually take a few years at the professional level to start showing what they can really do. Most likely even after this draft the Ducks have at least one more season drafting in the top ten (next year) but it won't be much monger until they are lighting it up. The group being put together is looking really good even if they still need more time.
They have a ton of LHD....we are in need of a solid two way RHD.

Things change, especially after the combine...then there was that "mini" combine in Miamai. Also trades get made before the draft they may impact how it goes with certain teams and of course that can create a domino effect.

If he did one early mock and one just prior to draft, the picks and opinions would be more valuable. Supply and demand. If you do 20 drafts instead of 2, the value of each one is ten times less than the minimal approach. Comments are for sharing opinions. So i commented, do you need more explanation or you good now?
