At 53 I did my first 5k on Saturday at 28:25. It was only meant to be W6R3 of c25k but I extended it 👀🤣. Since then I’ve pushed a hard for me 8x400m interval at 4min 40s pace as I want to eventually get to a 25min 5k. Wish I’d started running years ago 😳
Yes very happy with a sub 18, my 12 year old boy ran a 18:00 at Eastbourne parkrun a few weeks ago, so proud of him, only going to get faster. Great tips.
@@jamesroberts2147 Wow! 18 minutes for the 5km, at just 12 years old, is absolutely mind blowing. Fair play to your lad mate, he's got a bright future ahead of him in the running space. Great activity to do as a family too

Currently my 5k p.b. is 19.21 looking to break into the 18 min bracket now I'm a v50
Good hacks for instant gains. The two fastest parkruns close to you. Lucky.
Cheers guys. Yeah, quite lucky here down in the south east. I guess it's a bit hillier up there for you two!
I’m a brand new runner my first 5k is next weekend :)
Good luck!
Great video, nice meeting you at Seaford parkrun, just finished one behind you.
Thanks James! It was a pleasure meeting you at Seaford too. Top course and great conditions for it, hope you enjoyed the run
