I confess that in seven and a half decades of unbridled car enthusiasm , I have never come across the term 'underswung sills ': I thought I'd misheard ,so repeated your terminology twice: I think you could have more accurately referred to the rear chassis rails which were underslung , rather than over-arching the rear axle as was customary at the time, a Rover feature which was perpetuated until the advent of the post war update , in the form of the 1947 P3 which did away altogether with chassis rails amidships , leaving just rear leaf springs to locate the rear end to the abbreviated chassis rails under the rear doors : This P1 is very redolent of the extremely covetable Rover Hastings : Beautifully proportioned and much sought after :
I love it! So elegant, so comfortable looking with an obviously high quality interior. Just look at that leather, nearly ninety years old. 🏁
My late father was a previous owner of BG2020. This bought back happy memories.
My grandfather drove one of these back in the day. That was when a Rover really was a Rover.
Wonderful. I love prewar cars. I own a 1925 Rolls-Royce and 1936 Bentley, which I drive often.
Fantastic!
My dad owns a 1937 P1 in the US, in very similar colors to this example. Couldn't agree more with your take on it.

Great review and what a car! Had me thumbing through the classifieds for one - though they're sadly lacking here over the pond.
You and me both!
What a wonderful car!
How about seeing a resto mod of a vehicle from this pre war era?
I was under the impression the P designation stands for "Post War" and there's no such thing as a P1. Please educate me if I'm wrong.
Fantastic car.
But why a picture of a military Land Rover to describe WW2 ? A Willy's Jeep would be more accurate.
so we Can drive old cars, it just knowing which ones do what?
I daily drive a 1925 Rolls-Royce!
This channel needs a woman on staff to help the hosts dress. What a disaster!
That's Joe's style, leave him alone
Who's watching a car video and worrying about fashion. I think your watching the wrong show.
Ha ha - seriously though, most of us could care less! He does a great job.
He looks fine to be. If your flesh is covered up, you're dressed. Period.
My mum thinks I'm cool...
Quite lovely!
