But the wedding videographers I have talked to said to stick with Tascam DR-10L recorders because you just can't beat them in terms or reliability. I know the Rode wireless go has built in recording so even if you lose signal, you should still be covered. But apparently they have some issues if two of them transmitters are somewhat close together. Hard to decide.
Thanks for your review. I am thinking in getting the DW 30. It has a built in recorder which doesn't require sd cards. You transfer audio files via cable. I would not get the DW 20. The main idea about small wireless mics is to make them discreet so why did they put that bright yellow power button on the front of the mic? The main difference I noticed between the 7RYMS DW 20 and the Saramonic Blink 500 Pro? The yellow button calling the attention to the mic instead of the face of the person talking. And I don't see the lavaliere mic as a solution because my idea is to be wire free and never again ask "Could you please pass the cable under your clothes?" As I did hundreds of times using Sony ECM 77. Maybe I can find some black adhesive label to cover the power button without creating a tacky look ? But what to do about the audio meter moving when the person talks , creating some robot like appearance? What were they thinking? Incidentally, the power button on the DW30 is black but they did put their name in yellow. It’s not so indiscreet as the bright power button on the DW 20 I am very interested in having a mic with built in recorder so I might get the DW 30 if I can find an adhesive label to cover the name without making the it look tacky and obvious. I will still have the distracting audio meter to deal with. A ten minutes interview with a constantly moving audio meter as the interviewee talks can be rather distracting. And I don''t know how it would work if I would hook the mic the other way in order to hide its front . This thing of writing helps you to think. So, after writing this comment I will probably not get the DW30.
Hi Shane, thanks for the review. I have the Hollyland Lark 150 and the 7ryms looks *surprisingly* similar. Same auto synch tx to rx at power on, charges in the case and mono, stereo and safety track -6dB options. Plus good magnetism. I seldom am 10 meters or more away from the camera so anything over that is serious overkill, therefore I have not tested as you did. The 7ryms case looks so similar to the hollyland...same lack of space in the case to store the trs cable and lavilier microphones which appears to be a bit of an oversight or they didn't want to make the case bigger. You did not bring up attaching the rx unit to the hot shoe. With the Lark 150 the clip on the rx is supposed to slide into the hot shoe but it is a *really* tight fit. At least it won't fall off easily.

Maybe Shane you could consider an episode about affordable lav mics that can be plugged into these transmitters. Eventually the lav mic will get damaged and a replacement will need to be sought. And so the gist of it should be what are some affordable lav mics that can be bought either as a replacement or an upgrade for a crappy one 🤪

Hello, in your opinion Synco G2 and 7RYMS DW20 which one is a better buy?
They are both pretty similar packs. I think the Synco had slightly better distance reliability from memory.
