Clitheroe Castle Wed 19/6/2024

Another of our Wednesday visits this time to Clitheroe Castle......Nice views.
Plenty of toilets.....Museum lacks "Wow" factor but educational for the school kids looks to be its main purpose.....
From the Brochure:... "Built around 1186 by Robert de Lacy on a limestone mound. The keep was damaged after its capture by Parliamentary forces during the Civil War but was repaired in 1848 with smooth limestone blocks now clearly visible"....
After the walk up the steep incline a cafe is a must.......sadly, there isn't one.!! Cheers.
