it is incredibly common to think of people from the past as being lessor than modern day people. It really isn't true tho. If we gave them the same equipment and allowed them to catch up on the rules, I'd take Yale to cover the spread easily
By end of season the 2019 LSU team could score 45 on any team & defense was getting better each game - may be recency bias but I’m 74 yrs old and those Tigers were best I ever saw, and I saw them all since the late 1950s.
Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, Antrel Rolle, Vince Wilfork, Phillip Buchanan, Mike Rumph, Jonathan Vilma, DJ Williams, , Jerome Mcdougle, William Joseph, Maurice Sikes, Rocky McIntosh, Kelly Jennings etc… I think Miami’s defense would absolutely have no trouble against LSU’s offense! Now would you like to try Miami’s offense against LSU’s defense

2001 Miami was good and had a lot of NFL players on the roster but any of Saban's Alabama NC winners, Urban Meyer's 2008 UF, LSU 2019 and 2022 Georgia could all beat that Miami team. I'd even put Pete Caroll's USC teams in the conversation as well. People forget that 2001 Miami was coached by Larry Coker, one of the worst coaches in Miami history. You think Saban couldn't out-scheme him? I lived in Miami at that time and that Miami team struggled with: Boston College(would have lost if not for a freaky play) and an average Virginia Tech team. They also played a Big East schedule with powerhouses like like Rutgers, Pitt, and Temple. They then beat up on a Nebraska team that got destroyed by Colorado the game before(allowing 62 points). The notion that they were unbeatable is a flawed one. One of the best teams ever, sure. Unbeatable, nope.
Genuinely the funniest segment I’ve ever seen from yall lol
If you gave Yale enough time to get coached up on modern football, I think they actually do pretty well. 1880 cats were real men.
@VVeremoose people in the1880s were tougher but not more athletic
No chance
Gator fans speaking on the Canes is nothing more than trolling

'95 Nebraska team, no question. And I dont think we would have to throw a single pass the entire game

The best college football team of all time was 2019 LSU. Nobody is stopping that offense.

Dumb question. Like asking about the 1776 Continental Army going against the modern U.S Army.

The real question is ‘19 LSU vs ‘01 Miami?
