Nice ZJ man. I like how u have a solid rig with no waste of money light bars or winches or roof racks. Just straight necessities to make it through the trails
Jd Texan Thanks but this video is outdated and the rig now has light bar and winch haha they both come in handy on the trails though. Check out projectzj.com to see how the Jeep looks now
Jd Texan What? Winch is THE most important tool in wheeling, besides recovery points. If you don't have a winch, one day you'll find yourself in deep shit with no way out. Never ever wheel alone without a winch, and if you can avoid it just don't wheel without a winch at all.
Chris Wilson Recovery is important but THE Winch isn't the only solution. Personally, I will be using my money elsewhere. I've been wheeling plenty of times without a winch and Im alive and my WK is too.. I have a tow strap.. :D
I have a winch and straps because on the Rubicon it's best to be completely self sufficient however possible. My winch rarely gets used, but it's cheap insurance. Maybe $700 including winch plate and wireless winch.
wow, your 5.2 sounds more like a 5.9! so i'm reading the thing about the engine, and im confused about your exhaust setup. what gives it that nice tone?
***** The 5.2/5.9 IMO are the only 2 Mopar engines that sound good with any Flowmaster muffler. Everything else, Magnaflow does the trick for. And again, IMO the 5.2/5.9 sound better with a Magna under them. Good looking, sounding, and crawling ZJ by the way! If you aren't already, you should join "The ZJ Grand Cherokee Owners Group" on Facebook.
I can't recall what PSI this was but it was 3 years ago so it was just before I installed my onboard air system. I typically run 9 PSI now, still using the same set of kevlars seen in this video. A lot of other stuff has changed since then so check out projectzj.com to see newer videos of this rig
I air down before crawling, but I only chalk tested to find out what pressure I should run on the street to get a flat contact patch. Off road it really doesn't matter, you just want low pressure so it gets traction.
enjoy and learning from your vids, keep them comeing, only problem i have with them is that you really need to get a stabler (hell i forgot what their called lol) for your camera, but still, kick ass jeep
Swapped to IRO "Almost Alloy" kit which uses XJ u-joint shafts with Spicer 760x u-joints that have all the ears welded. The stock CV shafts will snap eventually, snapped the passenger side my first time on the Rubicon.
Perfect fit, thanks for not putting music over it. Learning to spot from you camera man.
Beauty ZJ congratulations...
kickcasss Thanks, both rigs have come a long way

Loving the zj. Real clean simple look to it with much capability.
+mimimurder14 Thanks, it's come a long way since this video. Check it out at projectzj.com or on Instagram if you have it.
+RYANVISION ok sweet
wow, your 5.2 sounds more like a 5.9!
so i'm reading the thing about the engine, and im confused about your exhaust setup. what gives it that nice tone?
islh It used to have a flowmaster 40 series, now it is turn down right after the cat

How did you guys touch it?
Hello Ryan, do you feel a big defference with the long arms. Congratulations for your truck from Argentina
Yes, the Jeep handles and flexes much better with long arms. The difference is huge. Thanks for watching!
Very nice rock trail
Hugs from Brazil
are u running in full time 4 or did u drop it in low?
+1984CRG This was back when I did have an all wheel drive transfer case (249) but anytime I was off road it was always in 4lo
Why are the drivers side tires mounted the correct direction but the passenger are backward?
fordrac1ng81 MTR Kevlars have the sidewalls labeled for inside/outside and the close tread section always is on the inside.
so lowering the pressure in the tires is not your thing? =)

ok, looks like very high psi to me..at least on the white ZJ, but hey..Im a ZJ owner myself..so Im not salty or anything.. =)
Yes I do, check out www.projectzj.com to see what it looks like today!
not a bad build from what I can see
+Cade Swasey Check out www.projectzj.com to see how far the rig has come since this video.
do you do the chalk test and air down before crawlin?

Badass my dudes
The 5.9 sounds mean cut at the cat. I have my 5.2 with the same exhaust setup, less metal to mash.
I have a 5.2 cut after the cat as well, love how it sounds. I have another video of that.
@@ryan.vision Will you still pass smog with it cut just past the cat?
@@davishunt3018 yeah never had problems with CA smog. Had stock intake, CA compliant cat, no issues without muffler.
@@ryan.vision Sweet! Thanks man. I live right by Prairie city OHV Im surprised I haven't seen your rig out there!
@@davishunt3018 Sold the ZJ last year it's down in so cal now so you won't see it around but I'll have my new LJ project out there really soon

+Kevin Nicoll Gimbal! I want one haha expensive little things.
Do u have the original cvs or did u swap to u joints
Swapped to IRO "Almost Alloy" kit which uses XJ u-joint shafts with Spicer 760x u-joints that have all the ears welded. The stock CV shafts will snap eventually, snapped the passenger side my first time on the Rubicon.
Thanks going to look into it ;)
Back when 4.5 on 33 was cool
I think Nate was on 32s back then and I wanna say I was 5.5 on 35s but not sure
What brand of tires are you running
Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar sidewall 35x12.5
where can i get those headlights and clear turn signals?!
islh They are called euro clear headlights on ebay for about 100 per set. Go to ProjectZJ.com and search for headlights to see a few videos of them.
*****
