    I worked as an actor on a virtual production not long ago. They also need someone present there with a lot of experience in unreal engine. To get the motion tracking to work and last minute changes to lighting and such. I feel like not many people in the game dev scene are aware of this job opportunity!

    Newcastle University in the UK has already created your phobia sim. You can find the papers online somewhere. Its designed around the exposure therapy idea. Seems it was successful in reducing peoples phobias. Though there's nothing stopping others creating something similar.

    The medical faculty of my university, has a laboratory that makes multimedia projects to help people overcome or control health problems. One of the things that they do is exactly phobias simulations, in which the patient uses a VR headset to be immersed on the experience's environment, and controls the level of the phobia (for example, in the arachnophobia simulator, the patient is seated in front of a table, and can control the number of spiders that are on top of it).

    • @NightVisionOfficial
      @NightVisionOfficial Рік тому

      Depends what you want to do. I personally think it's not an easy job, if you never did anything. I've been learning Blender for a while now, and used UDK (UE3) on the past, but UE5 (like UE4) is not easy to understand at first glance, and you also need to know how it works underneath. Virtual Production rely on cameras, sensors, projectors and so on. You also need a beefy pc, else you won't run it in real time. You can work in Virtual production, only doing the environment, but knowing more is preferable i think. Also, you probably have to meet deadlines a lot, since usually, it's not a green screen, but a scheduled day where the costumer comes in to record with the background you made.
      I don't work on this tho, so... take it with a grain of salt.

  • @MartinDubuque

    What do you mean by creating D&D environments? The examples you gave were mainly physical objects that are modeled in other software and 3d printed, or just created by hand.
    Do you mean creating top-down looping video maps (or even live maps, but the GM needs to be able to run them with a proper setup) out of UE5 environments? That's a great concept I've seen done before.

    • @Willzinator
      @Willzinator Рік тому +1

      It’s probably the 3D models. If anyone wants to build a digital representation of their D&Ds environment, you could make models and sell them.
      I'm guessing, since the video contained clips from Corridor Crew, they meant something along the lines of what the guys did with their D&D series (digital scan/virtual production web series).

  • @Willzinator

    Great and inspiring video! I just don't know what I am supposed to do to gather this income.
    Let us say that I have multiple streams of revenue, assets on UE market place, gumroad courses, youtube videos, twitch and patreon.
    How do you tax all this income? What do I do as an individual when it comes to managing this flow of cash?
    For example I assume that the channel owner of Stylized station is a single person. How do you manage your income and taxes?
    Do you have a separate bank account or is it all going straight into your private account?
    The course you are selling on your website, how do you manage every transaction and eventually tax it? It's a lot of talk about how to make money, but I would love to have some insight on how people properly manage their "business".
    *I know this depends on a countries laws etc. but in general, if i receive money from a service or a product ONLINE, how do people manage it

    the 3D field is so crowded lately to a level making money from it become a very low chance unless you already collected a good base of clients which take years and years
    duo to the large amount of free tutorials online, and the easy access of ready-made Assets
    random people start to enter the field while they have no relation with Art neither imagination and creation,
    they just ( copy past / buy ready-made assets ) and then claim to be 3D Artists

      Unreal is a tool, and it has a skill overlap with other game engines. You can use it for now, and if things happen, you can simply switch. Your skills will transfer, even if you have to relearn some things.
      I had been using Unity for 5 years before switching to Unreal, and never have I thought of it as wasted time. Unreal was just not too viable for small creators back then. Can't really do much about it
