Hey folks, Kurt here. Given then situation we're all in right now, I just want to note a couple things: wash those hands and stay inside. Okay, now that's out of the way... You may have noticed this episode looks a little different from previous ones, and well that's because it's in my living room. The team and I are dedicated to bringing you many more episodes, and all done remotely from our homes. So we hope you like the outcome. Again, thanks for watching. Stay well!
@@KurtIndovina yaa the world is kinda scary right now. Soo its nice to know you Ryan and gregg are still doing awesome videos. And thanks for it i had to look away lol i m so scared to watch the newest its lol
I never watched any horror movies in my childhood. I never heard about John Wayne Gacy. No killer clowns at all. And yet... Clowns- as well as mascots, I should add- have always been unsettling to me. It's like the psychologist quoted in the video said: something about them is wrong. Or, to put it in my own words, nothing about them is *real.* Not the facial features, not the exaggerated facial expressions or body movements, not the forced joviality, and not even the voices... How am I supposed to trust somebody when nothing they do is true? At least, while they're in character. I've known a few people like that who didn't have to dress up. They deceived and manipulated people all around them, convinced people to trust them, and are still the best liars I've ever known. Nothing about them was real, either. They were like angler fish, and only I could see the teeth behind the shiny lure. So yeah, clowns are scary- but the people who don't need the makeup or the act are even scarier.
On a lighter note, but still referencing the psychologist's remark that kids are disturbed by things that seem wrong, I offer this anecdote: The first time my nephew had an experience with a helium balloon and let go of the ribbon, he screamed. He recognized that it didn't conform to his understanding of the rules by which the world is governed: when you let go of things they were supposed to go *down.* He's the only kid I know who's reacted like that.
John Wayne Gacy likely didn't kill anyone while dressed as Pogo, reports say he mostly invited his victims over to his house to hang out and have a few drinks and then when their guard was down, then he would attack. But good work making it through an entire mini documentary about killer clowns in pop culture without single mention of *the Joker*...
I mean a 20 year old isn't a baby, let alone a child. At least where I live at 18 you're expected to be responsible completely for yourself. Teens are minors, but a lot don't refer to them as children but adolescents. Although you could argue they're children, I don't think people call them babies. However, yeah some of that age range is definitely children...
This is sad, because I know a number of people who are professional clowns, and they're really great. These dark portrayals have hurt the industry, though.
@@vrokez8666 I have never heard of him but I still thought that clowns were scary as a kid i dunno clowns are just clowns? Not meant to offend actual clowns but idk how they dress the make up their expressions while being in the role of a clown is similar to one of a manic person maybe that's because clowns are seen as strange or scary
Loved this whole video, including the quick guest spots from Greg and Ryan. I'm not personally afraid of clowns until they go crazy and start attacking shit, but I get why people find them creepy.
I had a friend that had a phobia of clowns. She said it was because the makeup and the act, you can't see anything about who they are and they seem so fake to her. She said there's no way to be able to tell what they're actually thinking or what kind of people they actually are.
I am very encouraged by the fact that Kurt went ahead to continue this series amongst these challenging circumstances. It speaks volumes to the resolve and courage that he has. God Bless him, Juliana, and his entire support staff for putting out positive messages when everyone else is dourly announcing the end of the world. Thank you and once again a very informative episode. And remember people: "Turn the page, wash your hands. Turn the page, wash your hands."
Good video but the feat of clowns dates back centuries and is a psychological state known as the feat of sadistic glee. It is a form of mania like what the Joker is depicted having. A laughter for seemingly no reason is sign of extreme mental instability. Look it up if you don't believe me.
I never found Pennywise to be all that scary. As a matter of fact, I've never found any of Steven Kings work to be scary. I liked some of his non horror stuff. To be fair, I'm talking about movies based on his work. So, my opinion is probably based more on the film makers than Kings writing.
I faintly remember having a clown at my and my brothers birthday one year (different dates but same year) when I was turning 4 and he was turning 3, I did find them creepy at first but shortly after I realized they were just normal humans
Oh yeah and we are in isolation now in NZ. Our Prime minister has observed in situation in Italy and has us all in lock down to prevent any more cases here. So kai Kaha ( stay strong ) that's in our NZ Maori language 💕
Hes more of a crazy guy but wears a clown makeup. Yeah some of his belongings look circus themed and Harley is a jester but he himself dkesnt really look like a clown
My two biggest phobias are snakes and clowns (Thank you Stephen King & Tim Curry). I've known about John Wayne Gacey. This video was very informative. Long story short: FUCK CLOWNS! (But don't actually fuck them. That's how you make more clowns.)

Fun Fact At the beginning of It King wrote that Pennywise looks like a mixture of Pogo the Clown and some ohter Clown i can't remember right now.
Pogo and Koko
His characters in ahs was so sad and desperate
My uncle once said "I stopped liking clowns after John Wayne Gacy lured those boys into the basement."
Couldn't say it more clear than that.
Did he stop liking basements also? Lol
Crawl space, and he lured them into his house
There was no basement tf was ur uncle on?
I feel like this needs the theme music to Unsolved Mysteries and the voice of Robert Stack.
You've truly nailed it.
I know this video was posted today, but man you need to get more recognition. You're videos are amazingly edited and full of good information

Saying young men and then saying that they ranged in age of 9 to 20 is such a weird thing, they where all babies, children.

Odd inspiration seeing as how Gacy killed nothing like Twisty. He was a manipulative psycho who lured and tricked his victims into their situations.
i remember my father always told me to never get into a clowns hand cuffs because he told me about what john did
