They're the first K-Rock group I got into so I didn't know what to expect, but immediately I loved the creative direction they take in their music videos and, of course, they make awesome music.
I am super excited to see what else Xdinary Heroes release! They released one of my favorite songs of the year with Strawberry Cake off of their last EP so I am excited to see how they progress musically.

Even their Bsides are so good and no skip you should listen their Recent comeback *TEST ME* and *STRAWBERRY CAKE* and also their Covers are the best especially the TOMBOY, IMPOSSIBLE and HELLEVATOR. I'd recommend checking it out because there's at least a couple of tracks there I think you'd vibe with, and they have a bunch of performance videos out for those B-sides. My reaction was similar to yours where I listened to the chorus for the first time and it was sitting at a solid 9 for me, but after a couple of replays I couldn't get the "get a haircut, get a haircut" and the soft humming parts out of my head. Insane. This comeback is super great and I can't wait to see how they evolve over the next few years. Their music sounds very, very promising and I love that they're all already involved in making it in some way.

Do bands like day6 and nflying not have songs with elements of hard rock? Genuine question, I don't listen to their stuff, I just know they're k-rock (I usually stick to kpop)

The comments have already mentioned what you missed. I’m just here to say that I really need K-pop fans (especially those of us who love rock) to give this band their flowers. They’re only just beginning their career but the music is fucking phenomenal. Their EPs are among the best released this year in K-pop for me! The guys you pointed out for their unique voices are the maknae Jooyeon (long hair) and Jungsu (grey hair). They’re the main vocalists of the group and once you hear the b-sides I assure you- you WILL be blown away. (by them and *all* the members!)
I cant even express in words how much I love this band!! They're all so talented and creative, I'm floored literally every time!! You gotta check out their cover for Stray Kids Hellevator!!!! I never knew I needed a rock version of that song and they totally made it their own! This is truely the most unique kband and just band in general. They have such a nostalgic feel to them. I would like to call their style "halloween punk rock" or something like that. They mix a lot of different genres of rocks in their songs, but the lyrics are mostly about conformism / doing what you want, which is typically a punk theme. And there's often something that reminds me of "halloween music", I can't pinpoint what it is yet (the harmony maybe ?). If someone have other analyses, I'm interested in it !

I was hoping for your reaction to test me mv because it was so cinematic and rich in details of their story... And test me is the begining to their storytelling which villains (xh fans) are still theorising about: - In the test me mv (to resume a bit the situation) xh join the ♭form a platform where they can make groups and practice music, and then go to a contest to see which band is the best. But ♭form is a rigged system with a winner already decided, so they hack into the system and win the contest because the people love their music, so actually they win because of their talents. - Having won the contest they propose the question "are they a villain or a hero?", which is the ending of Test me mv, leads to the events on Hair cut. - In the begining of test me mv we see the sign where they have been "the #1 group of the ♭form for 14 weeks" and they tell us to "join to be like xdinary heroes". This shows that despite having hacked into the contest the ♭form doesnt care because its a rigged system anyways, and it only cares that they bring attention to them. - As it shows they are finally famous and recognized, but they dont play music for other people in the mv, they just see them as celebrities, not musicians. - That's where it shows the mirrors scenes, showing that they are trapped in that situation they have put themselves in. And they say "i got to find a way out now" instead of wanting to bee seen as it showed on Test me mv. - The hair in the mv shows their burdens, the want of cutting it all out to be free. - They shatter the question of "are you a villain or a hero?" because it did never matter, ♭form only would have painted them as heroes if they did won fame. - They decide to burn on fire the carnival and report themselves to the police in order to be free from the ♭form. The submision is succesful and now its the turn of ♭form to decide wether to take action against them or not. I personally love their lore, their "origins of xdinary" series is fascinating because it fills on some gaps between the mvs and their story. I think their story of nobodys who love music and want to be seen to the famous and superficial stars that are tired of that fame and presure is incredible and well thought, and i can't wait and see how their lore develops as time goes on.
It was supposed to be released in October but the release got pushed back a week due to the crowd crush in Seoul. They left the original date in the m/v though. This is one of their storyline/lore videos, along with Happy Death Day and Test Me. The lore premise is them being over the fame and hype that Platform(bform) has forced on them from them winning the Battle of the Bands in 'Test Me' and wanting to not conform to the high pressure and standards set anymore. So the song itself can be interpreted to either them directly being done with the styles and looks Platform is forcing on them or a deeper meaning of being done with anxiety/pressure/etc and "cutting" it out.
You should definitely react to their bsides i would say that their bsides are like the pinnacle to show off their talent and my god the lives are just godly now that they have been improving and their covers as well. They are just that amazing as a k-rock band

actually, Hair Cut isnt their first comeback, but second! the first one was with the EP Hello world, the title track is called Test Me and it's really good, it would be great if you reacted to it, PD! Hello, World! has 6 tracks and ALL of them are AWESOME!! i was about to recommand one, but every song are my favorite lol a really no-skip ep. And the album Overload is their second comeback, also with 6 tracks and Hair Cut as it's title. my favorite songs are lunatic and x-mas, i'm just in love! but all tracks are great. please please i'm beggin y'all don't sleep on xdinary heroes, they're so talented but people keep ignoring their work and treating them poorly, throwing standarts of a group on A BAND and this is so unfair :(

The song is even better live and somehow really sexy, but that may just be me 😅 but the distortion on “get a hair cut” and the soft “hmm hmm” hit different live
The intro sounds like Happy death day then the sounds change and reminds me of Circus of Stray kids with the circus creepy vibe then turned into hard rock, metal singing and Xdinary heroes reminds me a lot of Stray kids, sounds like Stray kids with rock! Xdinary Heroes has the creativity of structure that Stray kids has in their songs

is also very funny to me how in Haircut they're more visual kei than CraXilver themselves in their own mini album- the company they were put in tried to style and treat them like idols unfortunately so it didn't turn out as well as it could have lol

- That's where it shows the mirrors scenes, showing that they are trapped in that situation they have put themselves in. And they say "i got to find a way out now" instead of wanting to bee seen as it showed on Test me mv.
- The hair in the mv shows their burdens, the want of cutting it all out to be free.
- They shatter the question of "are you a villain or a hero?" because it did never matter, ♭form only would have painted them as heroes if they did won fame.
- They decide to burn on fire the carnival and report themselves to the police in order to be free from the ♭form. The submision is succesful and now its the turn of ♭form to decide wether to take action against them or not.
I personally love their lore, their "origins of xdinary" series is fascinating because it fills on some gaps between the mvs and their story. I think their story of nobodys who love music and want to be seen to the famous and superficial stars that are tired of that fame and presure is incredible and well thought, and i can't wait and see how their lore develops as time goes on.
It was supposed to be released in October but the release got pushed back a week due to the crowd crush in Seoul. They left the original date in the m/v though.
This is one of their storyline/lore videos, along with Happy Death Day and Test Me. The lore premise is them being over the fame and hype that Platform(bform) has forced on them from them winning the Battle of the Bands in 'Test Me' and wanting to not conform to the high pressure and standards set anymore. So the song itself can be interpreted to either them directly being done with the styles and looks Platform is forcing on them or a deeper meaning of being done with anxiety/pressure/etc and "cutting" it out.
You should definitely react to their bsides i would say that their bsides are like the pinnacle to show off their talent and my god the lives are just godly now that they have been improving and their covers as well. They are just that amazing as a k-rock band

actually, Hair Cut isnt their first comeback, but second! the first one was with the EP Hello world, the title track is called Test Me and it's really good, it would be great if you reacted to it, PD!
Hello, World! has 6 tracks and ALL of them are AWESOME!! i was about to recommand one, but every song are my favorite lol a really no-skip ep.
And the album Overload is their second comeback, also with 6 tracks and Hair Cut as it's title. my favorite songs are lunatic and x-mas, i'm just in love! but all tracks are great.

The intro sounds like Happy death day then the sounds change and reminds me of Circus of Stray kids with the circus creepy vibe then turned into hard rock, metal singing and Xdinary heroes reminds me a lot of Stray kids, sounds like Stray kids with rock! Xdinary Heroes has the creativity of structure that Stray kids has in their songs
