I don't think I've ever seen PD lose their mind this hard over any group other than SVT
TRUEEE
mx
@@americanpistol I'm not saying it didn't happen but I've never seen it
another Caratiny win
The only other group I've seen them freaking out over is &TEAM
Ateez- the only KPop group who had to hold lessons on their lore for their fans because it has gotten so extensive
I know right?! lol Hongjoong the professor!
@@maryjames8854 That was so freaking cute!! He's the best ❤️
Is there a video you can link?
They even had lore in their Kingdom stages like the Kraken.

this silent scream of PD is the best way to say that ATEEZ did really good job
This comeback was a religious experience.
Edit: bruh PD's jaw was about to pop out of their skull 😅
Yeah. Ateez broke PD
Which is amusing because there are religious undertones to the song/MV lol
@@elizabethlevesque6978 oh rlly I had no idea
heads up, i think pd goes by they/them pronouns btw
@@elizabethlevesque6978 Really? How so
Just the shot when San screams pulling the chains is top moment of the MV . This guy should definitely do movies and dramas. His expressions were insane.
YES
Oh it gave me CHILLS
Ikr! San is so expressive and acts out emotions SO perfectly, like there's no exaggeration but he still delivers extreme emotions
@@zylieacaria4601 yeah exactly kinda like Hyunjin from SKZ does as well.
Ateez made themselves the standard for KPop and no one noticed
People are noticing! According to a survey taken from 33 experts working in different entertainment companies, Ateez is the 3rd most anticipated artist of 2023 and the 1st most anticipated boy group and, according to a Kpop predictions for 2023 article, they said that "Ateez stands strong as one of the most talented, versatile, and influential K-pop groups globally, regardless of generation. We can expect, therefore, that Ateez will submit an entry to the Recording Academy this year. One doesn't need to be an Atiny to recognize the value of Ateez's music, and it is about time that it is acknowledged on a global scale."
I think the only people who don't want to admit it are Kpop stans that just hate ateez cause its trendy
@@ofallthekennys Omg wow I didn't even know that!! That's so amazing!! 😭❤️ How wonderful for the boys and KQ! Mr. CEO and EDEN and his team must be so proud of them!! Halazia was a literal family project, I didn't even realize that MADDOX pretty much took over most of the harmonies and SLAYED and I heard that someone believed LEEZ and even EDEN lended their vocals for this masterpiece. Don't know if it's true but I wouldn't be surprised tbh. Halazia was a mega project, no wonder KQ robbed ATINYs on concert tickets and merch, they needed that income to produce all of this.
I'm just beginning to look more into the EDENs team and the production crew, I wouldn't be surprised if I keep hearing Maddox in more songs tbh
Atiny noticed! I been said THEY DO NOT MISS!
@@LivxLaughxLove They really don't! ❤️ Never missed once! I'm so, so proud of them 😭❤️
Best comment on the internet.
Its their greatest comeback to date I dont know how they can top this. All their live stages are also freaking insane and fire!!! Also they did a live stage for Cyberpunk and OMG ITS INSANE!! I literally have no other word for them right now ☠️ 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
They’ll top it. Not sure how but they really are a group that gets stronger with each comeback imo
Say my name still top
Cyberpunk was so sexy and beautiful
everytime I say “this is their best comeback and will forever be” and then I say it the next comeback
Literally like the production and everything is amazing but they'll Def top this they always do
Looking back, all of ATEEZ's music has a timelessness to it. They are really setting a high bar.
True... ateez dont do yr normal basic sappy love songs... like not in 1 song they identify a lady / female in their songs.. its more of universal love.. n ateez songs have depth to them
@@roziselamat7364 I love them so much for that, I'm deathly allergic to "ooh girl you're so beautiful" songs and Ateez are such a safe space for me :)
@@LadyTiferet funfact:
all of ateez's song there they address a person 95% of the time it is genderless.

In the yard scene with the crazy bg and all: CAN WE JUST APPRECIATE THE WAY SEONGHWA LOOKS LIKE SOME FUCKING ANCIENT DEITY?!?! LIKE ☠️☠️☠️☠️ That killed me. The best scene of the entire MV imo BY FAR.
I MEAN I WAS THINKING THIS ABOUT HIM AND YEOSANG THEY LOOKS LIKE ANCIENT SPIRITS WANDERING IN A POST APOCALYPTIC WORLD LEADING PEOPLE TO REVOLUTION
@@assgardiano Yeeeees!!!!! ❤️❤️
@@assgardiano OMG YESSSS U PUT IT PERFECTLY
First, this is 100% Ateez’s best comeback to date. There is NO arguing. The song itself isn’t my favorite but when you take into consideration the performance, the vocals, the visuals, the cinematography, everything, it’s quite literally art and something that would be extremely hard to top.
Second, for me, I think it doesn’t quite translate on screen for Yeosang’s ability to capture simply because he hadn’t really unlocked this new gritty insane devil power to draw attention until a couple comebacks ago and this comeback was an even greater height. On top of that, he simply wasn’t given the lines and the spotlight to be able to showcase his ability to draw you in and sing live really really well. One would have to view his fancams to see that he has incredible depth in his eyes that can draw you in. This comeback, he was actually second highest in terms of lines so he has much more spotlight and center time. This combined with his INSANE comeback in raw talent and stage presence led to looots of more attention and amazement on him compared to before. A couple fancams have come out for him and almost all of them are his best fancams to date. He’s been actually incredible in all of them. Some of my personal favorites include: MCountdown fancam (2023.01.12) and MusicBank facecam (2023.01.06)
This comeback is absolute, pure magic. Hard agree with everything you said.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I literally started stanning ateez after seeing yeosang's part JDHSSJJDKDKS
There's something about his dance and his vocals that just do something to me, like, I need to see more of him... Not saying this in a creepy way, I was just amazed about the catchiness his lines have. And it's not just vocals, it's his presence and dancing also
After him, I ended up falling for the group itself and I learned the names pretty fast lol I think Ateez in general is full of very talented men. I can't mention no other artist that is doing it like them
@@yuriri6703 omg welcome baby atiny!!!
you described it so well! Yeosang shines so bright this Halazia era!
When KQ ENT. announced a comeback two weeks priors out of blue, I was worried that this comeback would not have the same effects Guerrilla Cb did at the end of July. I’m extremely happy I was TOTALLY WRONG and I completely underestimated the impact would have this song.
Wow
I’ve been watching non stop every single reaction videos out there and 99% of the time Ateez totally disrupted many reactors’s Top, expectations and reactions. I never witnessed something like this. The most satisfying thing was discovering new reactors falling in love with Ateez for the first time.
This song is EXPLOSIVE, DESTRUCTIVE AND IMPACTFUL. I think this might be Ateez’s one of FLAG SONGS where everyone will certainly remember and immediately recognise. Just amazing.
Finally, EVERY SINGLE member SHINE equally yet differently, I do hope this is just the base of their mountain of great goals and achievements. I hope this is just the real (pun intended) MV of Ateez's philosophy and style.
Agreed! This was really well said
"Explosive, Destructive, Impactful" - this is the best description I've heard for this song/video I've heard. Thanks for putting it into words.
Mingi's "Who are you?" part has strong Minho "I'm sick of all your trash" vibes and I'm here for it.
Yessssssss
What crossed my mind while watching Halazia is that they managed to tell and entire, coherent story with their last album. Like they wanted to write a book but make it songs. Apparently now they thought "hey, let's one-up ourselves! Let's do that again but IN JUST ONE SINGLE MV!" It's literally insane.
this was my first comeback as an atiny and it honestly blew me away. my expectations were so high and they surpassed them tenfold?? i swear i watched the mv 30+ times when it released.
ateez are the future of kpop, they go beyond kpop imo, their music is just pure art. truly the light of kpop
omg welcome aboard the pirate ships new atiny!!!
for this to be ur first cb I can't even imagine how extensive this cb has made u feel. been here for years and these boys constantly surprise me every single time.
Welcome Baby Atiny! Happy first comeback
Welcome to the pirate ship baby Atiny 💕
Welcome to the fandom ❤
ah thank you all for the warm welcomes 🫶🫶 ive actually been following ateez since kq fellaz days but i only officially became an atiny in november hehe this comebacks been so crazy 😭😭 so glad i joined when i did
i was a casual listener of ateez and only really checked their title tracks but this one got me...halazia is THE ateez comeback it's such a great song and all the members stood out
update after a month: i'm an atiny now and i have listened to their whole discography i'm in love
Bruhhh they have crazy b side tracks you're missing out on
Same.
sameee
You should check their bside tracks
you should seriously consider checking them out more. i was a casual fan for 4 years since their debut and only last summer did i decide to finally take a good look at their music and learn more about the group. definitely the best decision of my life. saw them in concert in november and made many new atiny friends. trust me when i say u wont regret it
my 4 limbs went numb watching this. Honestly this is above goosebumps inducing.
Eden, Ollounder, Leez and Maddox strikes again
and Neko! Neko has been a big addition to their newer sound.
those 5 better produce music together for the rest of their lives they are COOKING!!
Guerilla was the beginning...Cyberpunk/Paradigm turned the knob a bit higher...Halazia just turns it all the way to 11. I made the remark to a friend that "The World Ep. 1: Movement" was going to be a genre-defining album for Kpop. And Halazia just confirms it. Ateez, for me, is going to hard carry the next generation of Kpop artists into the future.
kq, digipedi and his team, everyone is such a genius because fun fact: the place where san was pulling the big ball, it's an abandoned mall in thailand called the 'new world' mall and their last album, movement, has a song name new world. it's really these little details that make everything from ateez so so much more enjoyable!! truly one of their best cbs or should i say THEE best cb bc everything about halazia really is that phenomenal
From what I found online EDEN and the usual suspects produced the entire thing again, which is fucking impressive. Give these men medals. Immediately. I mean it. Hongjoong and Mingi co-wrote all the tracks and our boy Maddox co-wrote Halazia ❤️
The reaction to Hongjoong's verse is 100% accurate 😭❤
I never cared much for the ATEEZ lore up until this point, but them putting so much into the cinema aspect of this comeback has made me want to know more! Time travel?! I'm about to go into a deep dive
it's really not as complicated as it sounds lol
There is a compilation pdf that some group of atinys on twt did, it includes, terms, clues on music videos, diary entries nd everything its really extensive and can help you know a lot more
@@saltytsukki4232 where can I find it?

I swear I always say "this is their best title track" everytime Ateez comeback. Their ability to always topping their previous releases is still blows me.
They truly deserve bigger audience 🥲
Ngl I was drunk ugly crying to this song on New Year's because this song is just so freaking amazing and the sheer epicness made me so freaking emotional
me except i’m new to ateez, saw the teaser and was like “ok i’ve put off ateez long enough and i have nothing better to be doing” and it turns out this was the best thing i could have ever been doing because i love them? and i’m kicking myself for avoiding getting invested as long as i have 🤦🏻♀️
@@almostfacsination I totally feel that ☠️ Happened to me a few times with other groups or tv shows too for example. I'm so glad you're in the Atiny family now though 🥰❤️ Welcome!

"it feels like it's just working both in harmony like one cannot exist without the other" - PD that is like the best and most beautiful way to describe how the mv and music works together honestly!
you gotta watch live performances of this song, yeosang's power is INSANE
Ateez is slowly becoming the standard. Have you seen any 4th gen like this? NOPE. THEY ARE THE STANDARD I SWEAR.
“Where the f*ck is Hongjoong” gives me the same vibes as when he said “Where the f*ck is Jeonghan” from SVT’s ready to love mv reaction 😂
2/3rds of the way through " omg stop this is crazy"
Lol sir it's about to get so much crazier
Halazia feels like the synthesis of every insanely good thing that makes Ateez so exceptional. I love it so much
It fills my heart with immense pleasure whenever PD approves of an ATEEZ song. It makes my experience of enjoying this song even better. It's one of my favourite title tracks from theirs hands down. I liked it way more than Guerrilla, even Wave. Its just my type of song. HALAZIA all the way! ✊🏻🩷
i'm not an atiny, like i literally do not know anything about their lore (though i might just have to start stanning them now haha) but this is definitely going in my top 3 favourite music videos ever. i haven't felt like this since i saw on by bts for the first time and that was almost like a religious experience for me. it is truly a masterpiece, ateez have a very bright future ahead of them!
Omg "On" was LITERALLY a masterpiece. One of my top BTS songs of all freaking time!! I barely got over it by now, BARELY. And by "over it" I mean not screaming whenever I think about it because it is just THAT good. But yes, Halazia is 100% on par with the masterclass in production of "On".
This became my song of the year one day before the year ended. It's just an incredible level that we just haven't seen. We thought The Real was "it" in terms of making a gorgeous, story-driven video, but dang, Digipedi just topped itself using our gorgeous pirates in telling their story. Not sure it's doing as well as Guerrilla awards-wise, but it also seemed to drop at such a weird time that the year transition made for wobby times. That said, it did lead the charts everywhere, it did sell a LOT of copies (especially for what's essentially a singles album), and the song itself is, to me, a force of nature. I would LOVE to see San do an acting role, particularly something dark and gritty with some action scenes. I felt like this was Yeosang's video, though. He looks, sounds (THANK YOU more lines), and moves so perfectly here, and it's time. It's time for him to come out from behind whatever shadow he's been using to mature his talents and show us what he's got. As always, thanks for your review, PD, it's always so insightful, and the surprise and delight from you is so indicative of the feelings I think we all had about this one.
They were unfortunately competing against newjeans who the korean general public LOVES, so even if ateez won all the pre voting, live voting, social media, sales, whatever the other categories are (which they did first week) newjeans still won, despite not actively promoting, bc the digitals category counts for more than half the total score and is decided by the korean general public 😐
@@pinkseonghwa I hate when that happens because of the level of unfairness. Ateez has been around for 4 years now. They continue to work harder, and harder but the general public in Korea just loves HYBE artists. The way HYBE has such a monopoly over the K-pop industry and its market.
@@pinkseonghwa This just my opinion but another thing that I want to mention and this genuinely irks me is that rookie groups from the big 4 especially HYBE get wins handed to them on a platter. They don't even have to work hard for it.
@@mihikarow1994 no no speak your truth!!! I agree fully, I also find it really annoying how the big4 stans will then turn around and claim that big4 groups have no priviledge, like 🥴🥴🥴 do y’all hear yourselves?? ”jyp had no money when twice debuted!!” Maybe not, but they sure had news outlets at their beck and call to write about it and powerful friends in powerful places to pull strings. Meanwhile ateez and kq also had no money AND msnake that openly hates them.
Hell, a new big 3 group have usually signaled the start of a new gen, what is not clicking for them??
And the getting wins handed on a platter is truer than most think, wasn’t hybe forced to admit that they rigged wins for le serafim when they had their scandal??
Edit: yep, hybe rigged a music bank ep so ls would win
TBF from what Hongjoong said it was planned as a tide us over cb, low pressure, definitely not planned to get the wins (and we still bagged the first trophy of the year and Billboard charting)
1:55 famous last words - "I can already hear the chorus" ... really got me cackling
Thank you for this reaction & commentary. As always, on point. U best believe tt the entire fandom (or at least the avid reaction audience part of it) was waiting for this video to drop.
I still have no words to fully describe how I feel about this comeback. My heart is just filled with pride with what Ateez has accomplished and am so looking forward to what's in store in future.
I love coming back to this reaction to rewatch it when I need to put a smile on my face. I love how PD encompasses the entire fandoms reaction when we saw this 😂
As soon as you said you can already hear the chorus I was like nope, no you don’t 😂 it took us all by surprise
Digipedi has produced a lot of my favorite videos recently, and Halazia is no exception. Every scene in this MV is beautiful, they've really got great people working with Ateez
Your first listen-and-watch reaction sums up mine, aside from when Yeosang came in with his little bird lines. As a Yeosang stan his parts in here gave me both goosebumps and so much hype it turned into a small fever. His low voice is used sooo well in here... Everyone had a moment they could truly shine in this song, and we love to hear it.
I can't help but to cry every time I see this MV, the song has that epic despair feel and it just hits very hard, along with the visuals and the acting it's just superb, their best comeback to date, I'm so proud of them 😭 (Answer remains supreme in terms of song imo tho)
ateez are leading 4th gen right now i think in terms of music, choreography and performance. it’s insane how good this song is!! they’re only getting better and better!!!
The fact that Hongjoong said this is a filler album and they didn't expect for it to get this big says so much. I can not wait to see what they'll put out next
I haven't kept up with ateez in a while but I saw this come out recently, I checked it out and I remembered why ateez is SO GOOD
I've been in kpop for 10 years, and halazia is the song makes me finally stan ateez. THIS SONG IS PERFECT
this song is a masterpiece. ateez truly outdo temselves every single time.
Ateez is that group that in every comeback you think there will be no way to make another better , but they do it every freaking time ltrly , they made us speechless every single time !
Hi PD, at the end of mv we heard the chirping of blue birds that had previously lost their voices, the rain was falling down. I agreed with u that everything about this mv is too good. Ateez is halazia❤️
The fact that Joong said Halazia is only a filler song is absolutely mind-blowing to me. He also said that they weren't expecting it to 'blow up' and get liked this much is so ???? He said this in a live he recently did, I just saw this part on tiktok so I'm sorry if I'm mistaken.
They filmed this in 3-days while in Thailand!! The behind video came out recently, so I watched it. They all looked INCREDIBLE!!!
Yep eden and his team (the traditional production team of ateez) worked on halazia and same. This is legit my favorite ateez song. For a long time it was desire, recently was sector 1 and, as you said, the moment seonghwa said "halazia" this became my favorite ateez song
I can’t believe Halazia was supposed to be a bside of world ep 2. I mean how crazy it would have been. This shows every ateez b side can easily be a title track
I literally have never experienced a better comeback. It's jaw dropping, awe inspiring, and melodically sound. I cried watching San pull down the moon; his acting is phenomenal. Well done Ateez
Theres a reason that every survival show, rookie idol and beyond are covering Ateez songs.... they truly are the standard of performance, musicality and visuals.
halazia was a religious and spiritual experience i swear to god i felt like jesus appeared right before me
This is exactly what i love about ATEEZ. You can expect something high from them but BRUH they always bring beyond that. You won't ever feel enough of them and they DELIVER even more every time. Their power is limitless, my mind is blown.
That frame where PD stop, the one that has seonwha in the middle saying hala hala hala halazia, that one frame made me an atiny and a seonwha stan 😅 I mean i knew about ateez and that they where good, but i genuinly did the same expresion pd did the first time he reach that part in the mv. Now i cant stop watching all their videos, they are next level 👏👏
Ateez being Ateez in the mv (amazing)
PD-nim the whole mv: :O
Lmao I've been waiting for this reaction, this song, the video and the choreo are absolutely phenomenal and I knew it'd blow his mind!
San's part gives me goosebumps EVERYTIME. Amazing mv!!!
i love how at 19:22 seonghwa looks almost like hes in the role of a savior, a very religious feel to it. especially with his lighter colors and the way the other members are framing him.
I clicked this SO fast ydek omg. Yeosang's prechorus with headphones is just **chefs kiss**
Thanks to this song I started to listen Ateez and I’m so happy, SO HAPPY. Their music is out of this world.
Epic comeback....I did not think Ateez could top the last album but this is amazing 🔥🔥
I’ve recently gotten into Ateez and I’m checking out all their MVs and your reviews. They truly are amazing.
They are. Every song is a banger. Every MV is gorgeous. Every stage is perfect. And I love PD ‘s reactions a lot
I sweaar this comeback made me lose my mind, they left me speechless. I- ... there are no words to describe what I felt. I was 5 seconds in and could already TELL it was going to be good but I was so caught off guard with the PERFECTION of Halazia. It is soo powerful!! the epicness of it all!!! I love Ateez.
This is definitely on the top of their MVs so far. Agree with what you said that based on Ateez's standards and Kingdom standards, this is well beyond that. They definitely upped their game when you think they couldn't anymore. They're already amazing performers, musicians...kudos to everyone involved in creating this masterpiece.
after i watched this mv i had to give myself a few days before i immediately jumped onto the "this is my favorite title track" opinion, but even after i let it digest for a while i can confidently say its my favorite comeback. im obsessed with everything about it, and its been stuck in my head since it first came out.
I love 'HALAZIA by ATEEZ... not just the MV but the SONG too, as it's been on repeat for me...
I love how PD started praying at the end of the song, cause same
The appreciation for Yeosang 🥺 Yes, he is a BEAST in concert (I’ve seen them twice), definitely bias wrecks me live every time.
As soon as i saw Halazia Mv i was like “My Goooood, Pd will love this”. I have beed waiting for that UA-cam notification every single day😂
Ateez are the best of their generation. All that i can say
SAME!!!
I was, too! I kept refreshing, waiting for their reaction vid. When it finally came out I was insanely busy with work and didn’t get to watch till now, but man. PD’s reaction is how we all were. Freaking BRILLIANT! There aren’t enough words to describe it.

As far as the theory is concerned, we are assuming that since the world lost its gravity and everything around them is levitating, all the human energies are getting extracted and getting transformed into that huge bead ball. That giant ball is the source to humanity so San is sacrificing himself to save the humanity. However, he is probably the halateez san who in the end became the light by succeeding in pulling that sphere all in him. The water droplets starts falling back again which means he brought the gravity back and with it, the emotions too. The 4 people at the end are the witnesses. They're probably the children who escaped from strictland University, Guerrilla MV
We have the exact same taste. Fake Love was my intro to BTS, Inception to ATEEZ. I love hearing your takes on my faves, it gives me the warm fuzzies. 🥰
That was a literal onslaught - like you thought it couldn't get better and then the next second they up the ante even more. Bravo Ateez!
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR REACTION. Oh my god finally. This is 100% my favorite song and video of all time from Ateez. Its just perfection. I can't stop listening to it, ugh.
I have never felt more represented than by PD first reaction haha literally same! my mouth was just opened!
Seriously I dont know how Ateez top themselves every damn time. The choreo and live stages are amazing for this song. Also check out the live stages for Cyberpunk! I saw it performed live on their last US tour and its insane.
Edit: Also, Yeosang's prechorus build up is lowkey my favorite part of this song/MV. Love his deep voice.
Every one shine but true Yeosang's part add more points and i love Hongjoong's part too.
@@felu1038 Yeah don't get me wrong, everyone did amazingly!
Ateez is such a powerful group with a powerful message in each song. Yeosang is my favorite member and I totally agree with you about how much of a beast he is. So the theory is about the scarecrow is that Halateez (the guys in the black hats) have left or died so Ateez has formed a new version of Halateez. I love how they are sticking to this pirate, lure, break the wall, be you story.
I'm a simple person. I see Seonghwa in the thumbnail, I instantly hit the like button ❤️
ISTG the way Seonghwa's angelic vocals kicked off the song made this all the more perfect. I was hoping so much that we would get more Sirenhwa with this comeback like in Utopia and Inception. I'm not losing hope. One day Sirenhwa will make his comeback and I'm gonna be crying and losing my mind when it happens.
I don't know how else to describe this song except as a desperate prayer and it just hits soooo different!! With the organ in the prechorus, the bell tolling in the chorus, chanting "halazia", the scarecrow and prayer choreo, it just is so much like a reckoning to an ateez god or smth fr
That is exactly what I think - it honestly hits my soul deep
someone might have already explained this in the comments somewhere, but TL;DR lore info re. the halateez scarecrow: the effigy is a tribute! halateez (the black hat/black mask version of ateez) are missing from this dystopian world at this point in the story, so the ateez we see in this mv have been brought to the dystopian universe (the "new eight") to take over where halateez left off in fighting against the anti-emotion government. THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO THIS MASTERPIECE i felt your reactions during the first watch-through on a visceral level because that was legitimately me the first time i watched it (and the second time, and the third and fourth and--) - jaw on the floor, absolutely stunned, religious experience, saw the faces of god, etc. ATEEZ, you are incredible.
I have come back here to watch this reaction video so many times as if my life depends on it. I enjoyed it so much.
Ateez is absolutely insane and they are able to pull it off so well its incredible every. single. time.
As an Inception enthusiastic as well Halazia is fighting head to head for the No.1 spot in my heart
I feel deep in my soul that ATEEZ NEEDS an opera. Their entire universe would be utterly stunning for it. And La Poem’s cover of them sealed that idea in my mind.
If I'm correct it was DIGIPEDI who worked in the MV. That's why is such a piece of absolute art.
3:41 - 4:10 LITERALLY ME, seriously i felt my soul leaving my body i can't even explain it
best comeback of 2022, and they released at the very end of the year
ATEEZ is crazy
This was the song that made me an ATEEZ fan. This gave me chills.
I was waiting for your reaction because I was wondering if you were gonna freak out like I did over halazia. Ateez literally keeps getting better and better I am so proud of them and to be an atiny right now
I commented this on the mv and I stand by it 100%, as someone who has been into kpop for over a decade it's safe to say no one has and is doing it like ateez... they're on a complete different level for sure!!
This comeback is absolutely insane. They consistently raise the bar with every comeback. Perfection!!
Thank you for a great in depth reaction. Honestly i feel like this music video and song and production deserves a full on thesis to be compiled and published about this moment when Ateez transcended kpop and created their own genre entirely. I didn't think Guerilla was top- able but then they did THIS and I still get tears in my eyes and goosebumps when I hear this song or watch this mv from the overwhelming emotions that it evokes in me.
PD *10seconds in*: I could already hear this chorus
PD *before chorus* :Where tf is hongjoong?
PD *during chorus*: 👁️👄👁️
PD *after chorus*: OH MY GOD STOPP-
The way I laughed😂😂
I believe Halazia is the savior that Ateez praying to to give them the strength to destroy the world that caused people to lose emotions.
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO EVER SINCE THE MV CAME OUT
Your initial reaction after watching the mv is exactly how I felt after their concert. I am STILL blown away by every single second of it. Still trying to comprehend what I witnessed and experienced. They are truly masters of their art.
"this might just be the future of ateez music videos" hongjoong said they didn't expect halazia/from the witness to do so good since they thought of it as a spin off album between comebacks, if they went this insane with a "special comeback" let's say, i can't even imagine what's next... ateez fighting this 2023!!! loved the reaction!
One of the things I noticed about this vid is that Halazia and Guerilla open with a shot of a speaker(s). Also, I felt like they were playing with our expectations re: everyone expecting there's going to be a big chorus drop after the pre-chorus and they refuse to do it. They're disrupting our expectations. There is something very subversive about this song.
So glad we finally got your reaction. Like everyone else, I"ve been waiting for YOUR reaction.
You look well, sir. I wish you a happy, healthy, 2023.
I love ATEEZ very much. Their vocals and choreography have meanings according to their storyline. Their facial expressions are top notch. Actor level. And their MVs are movies. Hollywood movies
The scarecrow like figure symbolising the men in the black fedoras, i personally think it’s just signifying the end of the Black Pirates. They had failed to revolt, they were Ateez’s hope and did manage to reach Ateez but were eventually crushed. The teaser/trailer released before this mv came out talked about ‘The New Eight’ and how people were waiting for “them” whilst knowing “they” wouldn’t return. I think the “they” being talked about is the Black Pirates. So I do think it’s like a memorial for the Black Pirates, a transition from the ones who were their hope to The New Eight taking their fate into their own hands. And burning the scarecrow can also be some type of message to the government controlling them, as said in the name, scarecrows are to ward predators off. It’s kind of like a message to people of that society to not try to revolt, or you’ll end up like The Black Pirates. However Ateez seem to be ignoring that message, Seonghwa mirrored the scarecrow’s pose in his solo scene right before the hook and burning the scarecrow itself may be just rejecting their government’s attempt to create fear and not burning the image of the Black Pirates themselves.
@23:02 THIS!!! Yeosang doesn't tend to have much spotlights, but if you've seen them live YOU KNOW he is an exceptional performer!
I'm so happy he has this parts for this comeback. Hongjoong said during the radio that many people around him were praising Yeosang saying they didn't know he was this good. Good for you my boy! Get that praise!
23:01 - Yes PD you are right on the money, Yeosang is indeed a beast. HE ATE this comeback
This is one epic, energetic, emotional, anthem-like peak-of-discography of a song, Wow is all I could say too
