    $1500.USD a month is dirt cheap for a cosmopolitan/global city. However, Pat is NOT PAYING $1500. a month. He is paying $50. per night and he multiplied $50 times 30 days ($50 X 30 Days =$1500). The monthly Airbnb rate for that location is MUCH LESS than $1500.

      70% of the planet $400 a month is average rent in such a city.
      $1500 is too pricey.
      You are comparing this price to LA or NYC, which is a mistake.

    I’m desperately trying to move over there as soon as possible! I just got back a week ago and spent a week in El Chico at the NH pavilion next to Parque 93.
    The bang for your buck going over there with USD to COP ratio is insane! I have found three bedrooms/4 bathroom apartments in the same area as well as Chapinero for $800-$900 a month.
    One day we were there it broke 81° and everybody was dying from the heat!
    Saying that Colombians are fashionable is an understatement! Definitely motivates you to want to work out and dress up just a little bit more before you leave your house lol
    But everybody was so nice and not once that I ever feel in danger even going as far south as Calle 45!
    You can eat 3x a day at food carts for about $10 too!
    10/10 would love to live there!

    Strictly speaking, the paseo millonario is when you're kidnapped and taken from ATM to ATM until all of your money is withdrawn. You're describing more of a raponazo or a generic atraco. Colombians are all about the perfect word for specific criminality.

    What neighborhood are you staying at? Do you feel safe there? And are there lots of homelessness around the city?

    • @PatDaley
      @PatDaley  2 роки тому +3

      This specific neighborhood is called El Retiro.
      It took a few days for me to feel safe here just because it was unfamiliar.
      Once you settle in, you get a more practical idea of the dangers which are more present in certain areas of the city than others.
      Only aspect of homelessness in my neighborhood is Venezuelan migrants asking for money.

    Nothing really going on in Bogota, horrible traffic, bad air quality, very dirty, its cold, the weather keeps shifting within a day, high crime especially at the city center, "Pickpocket Central" and gangs dwell there and follow tourists. Invest in Medellín, Cali and Cartagena those are much beautiful clean cities, and if you want real paradise go to San Andrés.
