Okay, barista here. The weight of grinned coffee in the holder depends on the blend. Also, the time espresso pours depends on the blend. For example, in our café, we run espresso for 30-32 seconds and test around five espressos to find out the right blend, weight and time. He didn’t mention the grind size, so it’s actually super easy to mess up.

    3. Remove filter
    4. Put water in the bottom component
    5. Put filter back in and put about a spoon of coffee in it
    6. Screw top component back on
    7. Put on the stove and wait until it makes a hissing noise
    Enjoy.

A lot of people are talking about various factors, but I wanna take note of the measurements. That wasn’t 19 grams of coffee grounds. That was 19 grams of coffee grounds and their container. Same with the liquid. You have to measure the containers and subtract that for your total to get the correct amount because all containers are different and have a different gram total.
If someone doesn’t have his exact portafilter or expresso glass, this likely won’t work.

Making espresso is expensive because of the sheer amount of engineering and technology that goes into those machines. You need a lot of pressure and that pressure needs to be controlled. But you can buy like a Flair neo flex which makes good espresso for $99 but that is manual relies of you creating the pressure by pulling a lever.
Also remember, the amount people spend on coffee at Starbucks quickly adds up to the cost of one of these, and a set up like this last for decades

@@Rinrin-ms3lp all espresso is coffee, but not all coffee is espresso. Espresso uses pressure to extract an obscene amount of aromatic compounds from the bean, and it’s the best way to asses the quality of the bean and roast.
