    I had a T3EX for over 25 years which I bought in 1991. I miked it for all it was worth, using the low resolution 48ppqn 8 track sequencer and the meazley 16 notes of polyphony to create entire music productions and backing tracks! The sounds were really amazing particularly the acoustic instruments. The T series 8mb waveform ROM added a stack of acoustic instrument samples that were lacking in the M1's 4mb rom. The T series acoustic piano was very playable, as were the new soft and hard electric pianos, new acoustic and electronic drum samples and the new clavinet. The new strings samples were also a great step forward from the already great M1 strings. Then there was the new slap bass, solo brass, sax, woodwinds and electric guitar samples. The T series were the M1 on steroids but the steep price put a lot of people off. I completely agree with you regarding the 01W series not sounding at good as the T series. I actually considered selling my T3EX for an 01WFD because of its 16 track sequencer with 96ppqn resolution and 32 note polyphony but overall sound quality was not as clean and full sounding so I held on to the T3. Another awesome feature unique to the T series was the phenomenal MIDI master keyboard features with 4 separate midi outs over 2 systems allowing 32 channels of outs! This allowed you to drive a massive rack of external midi gear just from the T series keyboard. I sold my T3EX in 2016 because it was starting to play up and I had the Korg M1 plug in with all the T series sounds. By the way, you did a fabulous demo and you're a great player. Keep up the great work! Oh I almost forgot to mention that the distorted guitar demo using the Van Guitar program sounds awesome to this very day! Another thing, the M1 slap bass is definitely in the T series factory program A bank as is the infamous and vrty😢playable guitar program.

    Okay, so I finally got my T3 back, in the EX guise. It's a great instrument, very professionally looking, like a classical instrument. No cheesy knobs, no blinking nipple (Yamaha Montage), nothing like that. Basically, this looks like a Steinway. Now, the idea is not get jaded too much about the sounds, and keep cool about it. And most importantly, keep the same enthusiasm that people had back then for these instruments. I happened to get my T3ex with all patches initialized. Good part about it is that I am now going to the basics, the sine wave, triangle, square, different pulse widths, etc. And making some sounds from scratch. You know, the minimalistic approach. Once again, not to get jaded, and keep the enthusiasm and excitement going, and the instrument's look and feel invites you to come for more and more. These are the most important things to me. Of course, to me a 61-key or 76-key unweighted keyboard is just a second instrument. The primary instrument is a controller with 88 keys with an expressive acoustic piano and electric piano. You know, to play actual music. Creating sounds is fun, but it's also a great excuse not to practice. :)

      The T series are formidable master controllers to this very day with those 4 midi outs over 2 systems for 32 channel operation. I drove multiple external synths from my T3 Oh the memories! 👍👍

    I completely agree with you sir. I have had my T2 since new but it is looking a little battle-scared now. Unfortunately I don't play anywhere as good as you. I still get immense pleasure from my T2 though.

    I really like this video. The enthusiasm and appreciation for this wonderful Korg instrument makes me feel like there's still hope for good in the world. When someone complains and dismisses it with a derogatory term "ROMpler", I am losing hope for humanity.

      I lose hope for humanity when politicians tell us that they can stop climate change by enslaving populations through ultra high taxes and costs of living as well as mandating people to be injected with experimental substances that don't stop a biological weapon released from a lab disguised as a virus with a 99% survival rate.

    Yes, the T2 aesthetics are amazing!!! I mean, all of the Korg instruments looked amazing back then, the M1, T-series, Wavestation, and 01/W series, too. The X-series looked rather horrible. :)
    Anyway, I thoroughly enjoy this video. The passion for the instrument, the lack of sleep at nights because of it, I certainly share the same sentiment. These instruments are amazing. My favorite synthesizers come from between 1987-1991. I mean, my jaw completely dropped when I saw the SY77 from Yamaha, but that's another story. I am am not going to digress here.

    • @madness8556
      @madness8556 Рік тому

      I remember playing the SY77 upon its release and was underwhelmed despite the fact that as a synthesiser, it's quite a bit more powerful than the Korg M1 and T series. Yamaha should have included killer factory sounds out of the box and it would have been much more successful like the Roland D50 and Korg M1 were at the time. The SY99 as the SY77's big brother was a truly formidable instrument.

    • @dvamateur
      @dvamateur Рік тому

      @madness8556 Factory sounds are excellent on the SY77. And so are sounds on the JSPA cards. All these instruments are fantastic, but of course there are always complaints about the prices. Similarly, like there are complaints today about the prices of the Oberheim OB-X8, the Minimoog Model D, etc. People even complain about the prices of the latest Korg products, like the Nautilus AT, Opsix SE, and Wavestate SE. Everyone wants to have everything, but hardly anyone is willing to work towards it. Same as with keyboard playing technique. Everyone wants to be good, but hardly anyone is willing to practice. You just can't please the vast majority of the population.

    podrás grabar y subir el video completo de korg 01w con 200 programaciones de bancos (100 de a y 100 de b), y 200 combinaciones de bancos (100 de a y 100 de b).
    Muestrale la pantalla de teclado korg 01w para ver que sonidos están sonando y escuchando, que sea uno por uno, y lista por lista.
    Muy buenos teclados de todas las marcas como korg, casio, roland, yamaha Kris, amo a todos los teclados.

    Hi , tx for video. Can you provide what midi interface you use to connect to computer? I have a t2 and tried a simple chord interface that did not work w my pc, windows 8, not finding it and could not find drivers. So not sure what to buy in order to connect and back up my floppy discs. Thanks much!

    Great review! So the T2 has 76 keys and the T1 has 88 weighted keys, and more sample ROM yes?

    • @madness8556
      @madness8556 Рік тому +1

      All 3 T series instruments have exactly the same 8MB WAVEFORM ROM but the T1 comes standard with the 1MB sample ram board that was initially optional for the T2 and T3 until Korg released the T2EX and T3EX. I found the sample ram option to be cumbersome to use because you had to use one of the 4 drum kits to map samples which took forever to load using the midi sample dump standard. The Korg sample sound disks were also sub par IMHO.
