Thanks for getting the word out, Zaide! While I've been hard at work on gating content for this, Robregen and Akkadius have been updating code to support the TLP style server. Rob is also working on gated content. Torven did loads of work on classic era code updates for PQ and we're using those, he deserves a lot of credit, not to mention the 8+ years of work he did previously on TAKP. The Trilogy era resist system is something he crafted and I can't wait to see it in action, should make pre-PoP more challenging and feel more accurate. There has been a lot of great work done by the other TAKP devs leading up to this; Solar, Cavedude, Haynar, Speedz, Secrets for all the work on the client, and Nazwadi for taking care of the server arrangements. The total amount of work I've done pales in comparison to the others, so I don't feel right having my name mentioned up front on this, it's just what I've been working on alongside the other current devs recently. I'm excited to see how it goes and we hope it helps bring some new faces to TAKP. This is all based around TAKP's 10th anniversary, so we thought we'd try something new to get the community excited. We'll post the announcement on TAKP Forums today, along with opening polls that will run for months leading up to the launch to determine the box limit and expansion release rates.
After getting server first all classes max level on p99 green, getting a max AA ranger through Plane of Time on TAKP, and playing on Quarm.. I cannot start on another "slow" progression server. The amount of time between expansions will be the deciding factor for me. Let's be honest: no casual player is moving away from p99/TAKP/Quarm to start on a new server. I have talked to hundreds of players about it. You either do a 4-month progression and have a healthy and fun server or you do 6+ months and have a server as empty as TAKP. If you do 4-month progression then I'm on board (would prefer 2 months lol), but any slower than 4 and I (with hundreds of other players) are going to probably pass.
I wish these guys the best! I'm sure this is exactly what a certain subset of EQ players want. I personally don't think I'll ever be able to play on a non mouse scroll server ever again but to each their own
All for people having choice. I think a lot of people want a Classic experience until they actually get it and remember what it is like. A lot of people complained about the mouse wheel issues on Quarm until it got fixed. Everyone still complains about defense skill leveling and the slow exp gains. I will stick with Quarm/Teek. To each their own but I hope everyone remembers what Classic actually was like.
I enjoy being able to easily do raid content that can be non accessible to more casual players. I have a wife, kids, and a demanding job. I get maybe 14 hours a week to play split over 7 days. It's a 25 year old game.
@@potsandjacks, yes, if you want. I loaded the client up on an old CRT monitor from 2000 even and it just hits different. Can even replicate old midi devices to get the music to sound like it did on an old awe32. It's pretty cool. The no scroll wheel thing takes a night or two to get used to but then you just forget about it.
This sounds fantastic. I liked the slow grind of P99 back 10 years ago- was fun. Even more classic though? I dig it. Quarm was cool but all of the changes started to become too much. I don't mind a few QOL features but that server just wasn't for me in the end.

sounds great, hope you do not enforce rotations though! Let people figure it out.

I was about to ask if a bard can swarm mobs but no mouse wheel zoom yikes it'd be tough
2000 people at level 1 and no instances or respawn timer changes. Sounds absolutely abysmal and not at all like classic.
Look forward to it!

I think p99 is a good compromise between classic purists and Quarm/TLP.
any links to this info.... sorry but dont want to hear you talk about it for almost 20 minutes lol

Thank you for the info
P99 green after 99 to 07.. 08..on nameless i dowloaded it 5 months ago and i em hooked like i was 22 years old again
I quit the last TLP because it was so stupid! Who decided it would be a good idea to put Luclin/PoP tier gear in during Kunark!

How does this compare to p99?
@@potsandjacks it will be much much closer to legit 1999 than P99 is

Quarm is fun for me, having great time. I play teek also but honestly enjoy quarm more. The grind is real.
I can only hope EQ1 origins server.. quite the opposite of 2024
Is everyone doing everything in their power to kill blue, ffs
I'd rather play on Quarm than without mouse-wheel zoom. Don't think it's going to be that popular.
Good Noows🎉!

Quarm was crazy with the frenetic changes and it ended up being an entirely different experience than what was originally proposed by Secrets.
Will there be krono?
As soon as you said private server I was out.
@@CuzonFerros bye!
Let’s gooooo
Single box would be sadge.
Zaide promoting this means the server is already rigged. Mans hard up for more fake trophies.
