I would roast those tomatillos. Give it another bang of flavor. Maybe a fire roasted tomato or two as well.
    That corn tool is awesome

I have a bunch of roasted salsa Verde in a jar and that's what I'll use when I'm done with fresh tomatillo's... with this season that looks to be in a couple days. weather is totally fall right now, we are only at 60F and cloudy. bleh

The Tomatillo Chicken looks very good! I like your handy dandy corn kernel "peeler" 🙂

Corn is always a risk getting off the cob so that tool worked really well.

unrelated to this vid. I steam can OJ but I do not keep ice cubes on hand, so I have to put a jar in fridge ahead of time to chill it. If I keep a unopened jar of my canned OJ in fridge til I want it, will it reduce the fridge shelf life ? For example I assume it could sit there a month or more ?

great question Mike. You are totally fine putting canned foods into the fridge. You could leave them for a few years and they'd be good. I think that's a great idea too cool everything down and make the ice.

How do you know when Tomatillos are ripe? Sometimes I've seen them in the store but scared to buy not knowing how to tell.

it is scary buying new things...luckily tomatillo's are very forgiving so even if they are not truly ripe they will still be good (but more tangy). Here is a how to find a ripe tomatillo: ua-cam.com/video/2-Qu_1Ai9zg/v-deo.html

Found your channel from googling how to freeze tomatillos… and figured I’d ask on this so it’s newer video, you don’t wash them before putting them in the big bucket?

hi Shiny, you are correct I don't wash any of my produce until I'm ready to use it. Most everything has some kind of protection around it to keep it safe from critters/mold. Tomatillo has the paper husk and once that is removed then it has the sticky substance on the green skin itself. I do wash that off and it can be difficult but I don't do that until I'm ready to actually use them. I feel like they are more protected that way.

Martha did jail time. All I can think of now is her colour changing kitty litter.
Ditch the chicken! Chicken per pound has more salt than almost anything else.

luckily my sodium levels are so low (for the last decade) that my providers have suggested that I eat more salt (no lie, husband has the same issue...I can't remember the last time I had processed foods) that said I hear what you are saying...one could replace it with seitan and it would be pretty good too. FREE KITTY!
