Captain John, thank you for spreading awareness about the businesses that need our support! They are ALL great, hardworking owners and operators that love the island and need our support. God bless.
Thanks for the update especially showing all the areas of the Island. Everyone is working hard. The City, the County, and State officials along with local businesses have been amazing.
We were displaced from Redington Shores and have been back several times to check progress on the rebuilding of the area. You’re a huge credit to your community! I hope everyone will support the local businesses that have been so devastated by the hurricanes! We are moving back on Monday to the area so I hope to do my part. God bless!
I just left the Island after a 4 week stay. This is a very accurate picture of the damage. I've noticed the restaurants are coming back very fast. We ate in restaurants every day to try to support their reopening. One thing that I noticed is the gift shops and clothing stores have been slow to recover. The pace that they are working to clean things up is amazing! I would not hesitate to book a vacation on the Islands. I think by the end of December, with a few exceptions, you will be hard pressed to see any hurricane damage. We will be returning after the holidays for a six week stay. Don't be afraid to come back, It is still beautiful!
Excellent reporting and update 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Love to see the great coverage of the progress. I started subscribing after Milton because I hadn't heard anything about someone I care about on Anna Maria Island; I have made contact with them and they are okay.❤ Keep up the great work, and I will keep watching. Thank you very much 💙💙👍💙💙🐎🛥️🎣💙⚓💙
Feels like such an age since last update, but great to see the improvement. Thanks for sharing what’s going on with the community we hope everything gets sorted soon. Looking forward to being there in February 👍🇬🇧
Thanks for these updates Randall! We are booked to stay at the Umbrella Beach resort on Gulf Drive from 25th January; hopefully it will be open by then!
Good to hear ! Thanks . I believe most folks are setting up for Christmas thou. Bout broke ! God buy a rod and real from the local tackle shops and take a kid fishing y'all. Must positive respect y'all! Getrdone. God bless all !!
Appreciate all the videos and updates....wondering how Coconuts fared, especially the bottom units facing the Gulf. 73rd and the Gulf. Any news would be great!
Just visited the island today Nov 19th this guy is really downplaying it. I would estimate 60% of businesses are still closed. Especially places that tourists love like the restaurants. To name a few The Feast, The Waterfront, Rod & Reel, City Pier. The public beach is open including the beach cafe. But the beaches themselves are not full of people the only spot would be at the public beach itself. Presently we are also experiencing red tide, which isn’t bad but not what he stated. There is also still sand piles and debris in various places on the island. I would imagine that things will be mostly done by January. But things like city pier and rod and reel will be not here for a while.
I’m glad a local is telling it like it is instead trying to sell a lie !!!! Most people prefer that also instead of getting down there and being totally disappointed!! So thanks for the real update !
It's down 70% because the water is not clean yet. And you are lying to people. I'm old school island and still work on Annamarie island and live in Bradenton. I am a Waterman and the water is not clean. He is telling you this because his industry is suffering.
@@LandedFishingRead the Island son article bradenton Is still dumping sewage into the manatee river There are. Currently, red tide fish kills. And if last november was the best fishing you ever had around here you haven't been around here that long
No one cares about the actual residents. Tourists come first, then visitors, then businesses and lastly, residents. That's the problem and it always will be a problem until AMI gets its wish and becomes 100% rentals. Case in point, does the restaurant owner live on AMI ? No, he lives at IMG.
@@joebecht5554 I care about the residents, I have helped a few over the last few weeks but these videos are made for people that are visitors of the island and want an update on the condition and businesses on the island. I have interviewed locals that own businesses on the island in other videos.

Helpful! Thanks so much, four of us are going down for the first time on the island in March. Looking forward to it!
I hope you have a great time on your first trip!
What’s going on with the piers? When should they be back up and operating?

I will try to get an update on that area for you in the next video!
Last I hard Bean Point and Bayfront are still closed. Probably debris out in the water. Rod and Reel Pier had to go somewhere.
@@glorialotz3333 I will check in to that. Rod n reel is in the water on the inter coastal side of the island. Nothing in the water at bean point.
How are the bike lanes?
That I don’t know but doing a December video and I will add that in! Thank you for the comment!
Any idea how the visibility is around 40-60ft?
Not yet hoping to get out there early next week.
bounce back until the next time.

don't let the horses shit all over the sidewalk please! Please clean the sidewalk if they do.
