They have to keep up the quality.. I didnt read the manga but i know i about it. Everyone claims the Shibuya incident is the greatest ARC in Shonen manga history. Mappa probbably knows how popular it is. I would be really surprised if they went all out only on a flashback.
This is pushing it a bit. At best it’s the best modern Shonen arc (let’s say modern means anything after the Big 3 era of Naruto, OP, & Bleach). It’s one of the best arcs in Shonen. It’s basically the equivalent of the Chunin Exams, Marinford, Yorknew, and Soul Society in terms of quality and how it shakes up the series.
The schedule is on purpose like that. They needed that break to fix some things. And the production goes a lot better cause of the break. We'll see though, when the episodes will air
@@A1000-b9s they could probably patch some things though. Also, don't forget they have time for the later episodes until they air. I'm just saying we shouldn't judge from a trailer. The anime isn't the trailer. The trailer just showcase some thing to hype up the audience. They didn't even show the most hyped moments. Only sukuna was and it looked unfinished, at least the background.
Yeah I mean there's no real proof of it whether the schedule was good or bad. I mean just look at the first 5 episodes of this season the quality was incredible and on top of that the character acting animation was beautiful I mean if they are really that low on time they wouldn't waste their time on animating 10 minute extra scenes of utahime and mei mei in first episode and the first 5 episode shouldn't be that good. And shibuya arc is the most hyped and best jjk arc I doubt they will mess up since jjk is literally mappa's flagship show shibuya needs just as good quality like previous episodes
Infact the only "proof" (as much as I know since I left Twitter /X) is from a random guy that has not even ever been a leaker that said :" hey, gosso worked on ep 8 of csm, but he is also the director of JJK, that means the schedule l is bad hihihihi! 1!1!1" That was one of the most bombastic bullshits I've ever heard in my life. At this moment there aren't actual clues to determine the production time of JJK s2. Not even by the animation; knowing that an Anime extremely animated and that looks perfect (bocchi) could have had an hellish production and others thdd don't move that much despite the simple to average character design like Vinland, that we gathered enough clues to understand that the schedule was probably at least good despite being a modern 2 cour anime (yes, contrary to the common way of thinking, vinland character design is less time consuming to draw than it seems, and if you want l can explain you why)

As a Manga reader, I’m so impressed how well animated the anime is ! I could feel Gege’s drawings dynamic on every fights, but this animation is god tier
I’ll only complain once I saw the episode for myself Especially if the rumor that hakuyu go will key animate that episode is true Because they basically do key animation on mob psycho s2 ep5, which is inside top 5 greatest animated episodes in anime If that’s true that episode must’ve have peak sakuga moments then I’ll forgive the mob psycho art style
Honestly only complaint about Season 2 I had was the fact that some of the character designs were TOO simplified for my taste (especially in episode 5), but this trailer feels like they found some middle ground, so I'm extremely happy.
@@itwasntoptional2513 it's not like I even had some big problem with that, but yeah, some think that not liking ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING is just being salty, when I think Season 2 is improvement in most aspects.

Bro, this ain’t PreCure where they have an excellent schedule and simple character designs to have good animation. And that isn’t amazing animation for the entire run.
7:02 feels weird seeing it in the anime, seen so many fan animations for that scene. I love how it's mostly just flat colors with an overlay on top (there's no highlight layer, and only 1 layer of shading on sukana/itadori). I didn't even notice the change in aspect ratio either, wonder why they did that. Either only changed it for the trailer or perhaps a cut from the new op?
@TheSiZaGaming this had the potencial to be one punch man season 1 all over again... even though there were few broken episodes, there was a lot of melting and not so great drawing in every episode. Which is understandable and ok, of course, but the talent they have and what they could do is soooo much better than what came out
@@cineglasses agreed. Man how is it that almost every year we have a project with a generational staff list yet something or the other plagues it 😭 According to someone on the staff (don't remember my source so you'll just have to trust me) this anime was supposed to start airing in January. That would be a decent production schedule. But nah Toho wanted it out half an year early. Either way I'm happy with what we got. It's still brilliant and I think apart from 2 episodes (8 and 14) every other episode held its own to season 1's standard if not to something historic like OPM S1. Episodes I thought were near perfection in Shibuya: 6,7,9,13,15,16,19,20,21,22 17 not added for obvious reasons. It's like a compilation of orgasmic sakuga with no coherence between the clips. The only things holding the rest in my list back from perfection is drawing inconsistencies, some compositing issues and a few incomplete sequences but not too many.
@@TheSiZaGaming oh no, don't get me wrong - I loved season 2. Even after reading the manga. it's just that you can literally see all the potential of what coulda been with episodes like 16 & 17 (my personal favourites of the series). 17 in fact made my jaw drop like it wasn't maybe since mob psycho s2 ep5. the sheer ammount of crazyness, background animation and creative freedom left on display was truly something else even if the drawings were melting (I don't really mind... I mean, I used to watch dragon ball super lol) . So my taste really is movement over detail which is what shibuya was all about from the animation side. To be honest, in a vaccum, what we got is really good. Like, really good specially considering the whole industry as a whole. We might see a production reach the level of quality and hype of OPM every 10 years it seems. Ufotble are an exception, of course, but from their side it's more the visuals as a whole rather than eye-popping animation. Anyways lol yeah wasted potential which is a shame but the fact the season ended airing as consistent as it did (23 won't change my opinion no matter how it comes out) is something we should treasure. Now we wait for 2/3 years lol cheers for sharing your opinion though mate!!

I don't want to be a Hater or anything but your "Animation Breakdown" is rather BLAND with the quality of content present in video. Maybe it is due to your editing style (8 min video max) that doesn't allow you to go in-depth in regards to animation techniques being used. Still, I do expect some quality bar to be met in terms of the content of the video that is "Animation Breakdown". You could have talked about different animation styles used throughout the trailer such as KageNashi (shadowless character design), and appreciation for background animation rather than using the same Joke of "Why use a certain animation style for a particular cut, Cuz why not". Even could have talked about Potential Episode directors that will appear in a given season such as Hironori Tanaka, Tatsuya Yoshihara, and Hakuya Go (even tho you mentioned it, didn't explain why it is likely him to be), discussed about which artists did which cuts as KA (even guesswork is fine). I guess you just want to Pump out the video as fast as possible to get views with all the hype around the Show and nothing wrong with that honestly. You need an insane episode for a Popular series to do a breakdown but even if episodes are insane your "Animation Breakdown" video doesn't do justice even in terms of breaking down (like ep5 of JJK s2 was insane, even then your video was 8 min). I don't need a heavily edited vid that is informative but a informative video talking about breaking down little aspect of animation that makes ep so good in the first place. Don't take this comment the wrong way as some hater talk,I genuinely wants people to get more exposure about animation production from these vids
Well let's go through this, one of the things from a content creator's POV is repetition. I have talked about the BG animation, how time consuming it is and the fact that Goshozono episodes will probably feature 3d layouts drawn over, multiple times in JJK s2 videos from the past. As such I don't want to start from scratch every single time, that seems counter intuitive. Same goes for other topics. I can't repeat the same points over and over. I generally avoid guessing directors/animators because the odds of me being comically incorrect are quite high, so I don't see the point. You seem to have a problem with the video lengths being short, well, I script my vids in that manner. I write the scripts in such a way that the final thing will be between 8-9 minutes and I try to cram as much information as I can in that duration. This is because the longer a vid is, the more exponentially time consuming it is to edit. Also the more content you use, the more likely you are to get hit with a copyright claim/strike. Also I'm not a professional animator, I only talk about what I see. And I don't think most people have a problem with it, because I've almost never received a comment like your's, I do appreciate the feedback but I hope you see my POV.
@@ProbablyPretentious From entertainment pov your vids are really good and for casual anime watchers your vids are really informative as you highlights some animations technique used in said episode which only enhances appreciation for the Team working Behind even more. I just recently found your channel and I really like your breakdown vids (so much so that almost watched every one of them at least one time) as well as other vids that discuss about the production side of things and your vids are entertaining that's why I always returned to see more of them. But some part of me just want to know something new/informative facts that i wasn't aware which is not possible that i know. I have already mentioned that I totally understand that with your style of editing you cannot fit everything otherwise vid would be too much longer to edit later on. But I do hope somewhere down the line you do a vid that dives deep into seasonal anime production side where you discuss what made certain show standout so much. Ofc it should not be heavily edited vid more so just thoughts. I get the reason why you don't want to guess about who worked on the episode as sakuga fans tolerate any mishaps in regards to production side of things but you can always mentioned it that your guesses are just speculations that are to be taken as grain of salt And I hope that in any capacity my statements didn't come off as rude cuz that wasn't my intention. I seriously want your channel to get exposure to wider casual audience as well.
It's all good lol, I appreciate any and all feedback. I get what you mean, and I do somewhat agree with it. That's why I don't just make episodic breakdowns, I also try to dedicate videos to a single topic instead of a show. I guess the video length will increase when I finally use a face cam, cuz I'll have to edit less and use less footage but that's a long way into the future.
I hate how people took the first season trashed on it for setting up tropes and called it mid after people said let it cook. It’s like people who drop invincible episode 1 before the ending and trash on it while fans are hyping it and confused by the hot takes. Jjk season 2 shows it’s not the trash shonen they claim. Also what is this so hated generic shonen show. Like really they hate if it has shock value aka episode 8/9 chainsawman but hate if it doesn’t cause ugh generic shonen. I think such people secretly just grew tired of shonen and it’s ok but I don’t go to a romance film. Scream generic romance when the plot involves romance in some form and isn’t mindblowingly changing all tropes. Plus subverting all the time is also cliche.
I don't like the unfinished look they are going for with Jogo vs Sukuna like in that one shot where Jogo is made up of simple lines basic colors and very simple shading being a line of dark tint instead of actually having the shading come from a direction it seems as though it is being casted on him it looks sloppy and has jagged lines not to mention the quality is that bad but only for a very short time and on top of that its animated on 2s so they could have at least put a little more effort into it. same with Sukuna's flame arrow I don't like the intentional simplistic look especially for a moment as iconic as that i really hope they don't do somthing like this again for later eventful moments

The director did phenomenally with season 1. Please don’t crack under the pressure of the mad house studio that is Mappa(😅). I Pray we uncover a system that enables animators to give their all without being so exploited. Same for all those that work so hard and give it their all to better our lives.
He needs to do the animation for Sukuna vs mAhoraga. Specially when Sukuna destroyed almost all of shibuya at the end. The explosions will be immaculate.
Love your videos. You make sure I don't miss a detail. I also hope one day fog hill of 5 elements gets your spotlight
this series is still able to surprise me
They have to keep up the quality..
That's why I'm doubting more and more of the schedule is As BAD As some people say it is
The schedule is on purpose like that. They needed that break to fix some things. And the production goes a lot better cause of the break. We'll see though, when the episodes will air
@@manospd3351 3 weeks won't do shit bud
That was one of the most bombastic bullshits I've ever heard in my life.
I felt the same way when hidden inventory arc trailer dropped but somehow mappa animated it in such a way that all oversimplified scene/frames blended perfectly and I think the SAME will happen in Shibuya incident arc 😊😊😊😊😊
The lighting and compositing from the fire is so well done, especially on a specific fire involving fight. ;)

Because they basically do key animation on mob psycho s2 ep5, which is inside top 5 greatest animated episodes in anime
If that’s true that episode must’ve have peak sakuga moments then I’ll forgive the mob psycho art style
Honestly only complaint about Season 2 I had was the fact that some of the character designs were TOO simplified for my taste (especially in episode 5), but this trailer feels like they found some middle ground, so I'm extremely happy.

The way fushiguro moves is incredibly similar to Levi in s3 of aot. When Kenny’s gang appears for the first time and Levi begins to run.
Great video, as always! :D I can’t wait for the Shibuya arc!!! :O
in 3:50 and 4:25 the 'coloured shading' is called 'rimlighting' for future reference

Shibuya arc is looking fire
Season 1 still looks dope
Nah s2 is going to be better
Season 1 was dope but not sure about looking "dope" Since the compositing was lame
The animation reminds me of that Star Wars legends show, with that one episode
I love mappa for the unnecessary great long lengths they go for the SMALL THINGS. I love mappa
I guess you were right indeed
I think 2 bad episodes is a pretty good record for a production as fucked as this. Lol.
Man how is it that almost every year we have a project with a generational staff list yet something or the other plagues it 😭
According to someone on the staff (don't remember my source so you'll just have to trust me) this anime was supposed to start airing in January. That would be a decent production schedule. But nah Toho wanted it out half an year early.
Either way I'm happy with what we got. It's still brilliant and I think apart from 2 episodes (8 and 14) every other episode held its own to season 1's standard if not to something historic like OPM S1.
Episodes I thought were near perfection in Shibuya: 6,7,9,13,15,16,19,20,21,22
17 not added for obvious reasons.
Agree hard on the consistency thing. When I realised that this show couldn't have had more than 9 months behind it.. I assumed it was done for. I was expecting the episode 14 situation all over the season. Gosso and co. proved me wrong, thankfully@@cineglasses

This season is going to be fights throughout the entire arc, constant consecutive fights one after another, it would be next to impossible to animate this season with the detail quality of the first season for what’s about to happen
Mappa has to let it’s employees take a break producing things like jjk, opm, Vinland saga, aot, csm, hells paradise and some random isekai all at the same time
Bro, opm is not being animated by Mappa

Bro's ignoring the entire industry and just calls out ''Mappa animators''.like a lot of people do
I don't want to be a Hater or anything but your "Animation Breakdown" is rather BLAND with the quality of content present in video.
I get the reason why you don't want to guess about who worked on the episode as sakuga fans tolerate any mishaps in regards to production side of things but you can always mentioned it that your guesses are just speculations that are to be taken as grain of salt
And I hope that in any capacity my statements didn't come off as rude cuz that wasn't my intention.
