But please, release the WAP AX soon! Really waiting too long for that one, as not everybody can fit extra cables into their concrete ceiling at home. ;)
Last week I finally got the new capsman working with vlans, next week I’m replacing all ac accesspoints with ax versions 😀 all I need now is an outdoor ax accesspoint… wap ax maybe?
Help me do it!... hahaha... please, point me in the right direction... I'm having such a hard time making CAPsMAN work between my RB5009UG and my CAPax with vlans on Mikrotik OS 7...
@@alexbarresandres9811 it works when using wifi-5, it’s not always on AX all the time. When setting up capsman we would select all protocols so it keeps switch automatically based on distance and bandwidth. I have disabled 4011’s radios since one of the AP exist in the same place.
Not yet something for everybody. I can only do wall mount in my house, thus can't use the CAP ax and all desktop models look terrible mounted on the wall. Still hoping for a wAP ax to appear one day (one very very beautiful day) 🙂
gonna need some simplified video on POE switches and stuff... the passive vs the new stuff... i am still unclear on it all and feel like I dunno which POE switch to pick for these new wifi6 stuff.
I'm waiting for a wAP AX as a replacement for my outdoor wAP AC device. It's the only AC device I have, 5x CAP AX are already in the building. Do you plan to offer a wAP AX, Normis?
I have issues with WiFi on AX3. It is unstable, some devices are dropping connection often, some smart devices don't even connect to it. I don't have these issues on a basic tplink. Otherwise AX3 is an amazing router, but for WiFi I have to use a dedicated AP.
Finally in the latest version CAPsMAN works with VLANs! One problem remains for me - a missing "station bridge" mode for AX, so that I can connect wired devices to a wireless network as before. Any plans to implement "station bridge" mode?
I picked up a cAP AX since my home network needs 5 radio IDs and have yet to get it setup. What is the best guide for using the GUI for the initial setup
Please someone experienced reply, I want to create a wifi bridge with my hap ax2 and my ISPs router. Is it even possible on wifite? I had no problem doing it on my ac2 before
Still no real replacement for the HAP AC. Many people these days have a direct fiber connection to their home/ apartment. Going through extra converters is a pain, the HAP AC neatly solved it, but with WiFi 6 & 6E these days the HAP AC is not up to the task anymore in terms of WiFi speeds but also in terms of CPU. Please make an upgraded HAP AC with WiFi 6 5ghz & 2.4 GHz and an SFP cage.
Hello, will there be a router with 2 sfp+ ports like udm pro se?? Because I want to change the router, the operator will provide me with a 2Gb/s to 10Gb/s connection from 2024. So either it must have 2x sfp port + 10 Gb internet. It would be good if it had one 2.5 Gb ethernet port, but it is not necessary, I will switch to a switch via sfp+, from which I have 2.5 gb ethernet ports.
Is it better to set up separate SSIDs on the hAPAX2 for 2.4 and 5 or just one? I haven't done any testing yet but it seems like it would was always connect to the 2.4 since it is a stronger signal over the 5.
With AX devices it’s better to use same SSID and then enable “ft” with a checkbox. It enables seamless roaming and it will switch between frequencies instantly and will work much better
@@CeleronS1 That's a good question for WiFi 4 too, Do you want to invest in technology that is about to be marked as obsolete? For WiFi6 vs WiFi7, There are many, at least double the speed, lower latency due to many improvenments, or multi bands bonding, but as a long-time Mikrotik hardware user, I just want to remind Mikroik... Other vendors have already launched their WiFi7 products and they are not expensive (at least the ones I know, tplink 7DR5130 is only 279 CNY or around 39USD, come with 2.5G Port, deals can even be lower). Mikrotik's R&D is SO SLOW, they've already dropped the ball on Wifi6, both toB & to C, they need to catch up. It's a surprise to see a product selection video for (just a handful of) products. Have you carefully reviewed Mikrotik's products? As far as I know, they don't even have a outdoor WiFi-6 product, not even mention Wifi-6E. They got 9 of Wifi 6 Products listed, and 4 of them is for 5G/LTE, of the remaining five, two are 2.4Ghz Only, other two is Gigabyte port only, only 1 product got single 2.5GbE port and the WiFi is AX1800, rated at 1200Mbps in 5Ghz max, it's hard to get real world speed above 1Gbps. While other vendor easily get 2Gbps+ in WiFi6 (AX3000、AX6000), 3~4Gbps (WiFi7) real world throughput in SINGLE sta device, over 10Gbps (rated at 18.67Gbps) in one AP. One answer I can think of as to why Mikrotik didn't take full advantage of WiFi6 is that they have a 60Ghz product line, and if 5Ghz is a substitute for 60Ghz, that line is a bit of a hoot! Yes, I can pay more for RouterOS hardware as I did, they do have great product before, like hap "ac2", but for it's successer, they did not upgrade to usb3 but to remove it in "ax2", :( by the time you're doing playing your product line game and do not launch good products, customers have already bought other products from other vendors.
This one Edited. feel too mean before, I thought about it again, maybe Mikrotik is very cautious in designing products because their product life support cycle is very long. Mikrotik is the few vender that I have ever seen keeps all products upgraded at the same time. anyways, hope Mikrotik can bring good product again.
AX access points have become so ugly (Soup Bowl). I send it back. In addition, the outdoor area does not work with Mantbox. There is no wifiwave mantbox :-/ Wifiwave with capsman ist not really working....... with AC3 and AX3 etc... Earlier the Mikrotik was better. Speaker, Display 5G + 2G. more Memory .. Today it is not good anymore
With AX you don't need Audience edition, just get hAP ax³ or cAP ax, both of them have 1GB ram and beefy quad core. Multi user support (OFDMA) is what counts. I have to take care of 200 m2 office, that was covered with those little mAP shaits (RBmAPL-2nD) . Now I got rid of them all and replaced with single ax². It just works. People love 500Mbit+ speeds in main room, those further can survive with 50 Mbit as well.
Nothing for outdoor. 2.4 is subject to all the slow WAPs. That don't use coloring. What happens in the TDMA of good old... One talks all listen? Throw in a distant legacy device... I bet that 2.4 grinds to a near halt.
We can't pick proper wifi6 device because you didn't make one yet. It must be without external antennas, must include 5Ghz range, must have storage option and wider voltage range. Instead you have multiple devices that all do wrong.
