Juat got my surgery yesterday. Meniscus repair. Im not taking meds because i have to breast feed. They said hydrocodone would be safe but i dont really trust that. Looking up videos for similiar recovery time and recovery therapy. Thank you for sharing. !!! I need to set expectations and learn from others experiences. Much appreciated!! ❤
Best of luck bro ,damn it's tough not being active when your active as hell ,just another challenge for the mindset you have built ,wishing you a speedy recovery 💪🙏
Yes, brother, FULL mindset now. I am MUCH better than the first 72 hours. Also, next Friday stitches are removed and I can push for knee ROM greater than 90 degrees which will be great as well. Thanks for supporting, bro
I had my meniscus repair 4 weeks ago! Everything going well with recovery and PT. Sometimes during exercise, I feel little pain exactly where the meniscus is and where surgery was done. I was wondering for how long do you feel that?
It's different for everyone, usually it's scar tissue getting broken up. Keep the PT going and when cleared, use calisthenics, bands and sleds to slowly rebuild full range of motion.
Hey my man I just had meniscus surgery on the 27 of April first time having surgery. Could you tell me at what week you could bear weight? Or even going to the gym?
@@ZEvenEsh I had a medial meniscus repair they stitched instead of removal it’s day 3 and I want to walk but I was told I can’t without crutches. This freakin sucks man
@@CAVEENO just had the same operation- day 2. They said to expect ~2 weeks until I can start to move without crutches. Most frustrating experience of my life
@@lucasholliman6599 can you please tell me if I’m allowed to take all the bandages off because I hade my operation couple days ago and I’m not sure what to do that would really help if you could reply thank you
This was my 4th Knee Surgery. The issue that happened to me post surgery was a Blood clot which is very dangerous and I believe it prolonged my recovery. As soon as I was off crutches, I began dragging sleds and doing ISO Holds. I also walked a lot to rebuild my leg and walked up and down stairs / bleachers daily.
My 6 week appointment with my surgeon is Monday! Can’t wait to be weight bearing. These past 6 weeks have suuuuccckkkeeddd! One tip, get one of those pouches that attach to your crutches from amazon. It’s the only way I can carry my coffee to my truck.
Just had knee surgery (17/05/24) to repair a complex tear of the medial meniscus. 6 weeks in a hinged knee brace and crutches. Pain is non existence but the frustration is real. Cannot drive, gotta hobble everywhere, still hitting the gym hard and training upper body. Start PT this Thursday so hopefully will help massively.
Oh yeah, the toughest thing is being confined to those crutches, you get some serious cabin fever. Train around it as you can, but obviously make sure it is safe and then these next six weeks will go by very quickly 🏆
Hey, i had surgery 3 weeks ago - it was a complex tare and they stitched it back up because i do sports- i went back to school four days ago and now my other knee is abit sore to bend and walk on- did you experience this? Im worried ive torn my other one but it could be referred pain.
Post surgery can certainly impact other areas of the body and make you feel fatigued b/c the entire body is working hard to recover. Keep eating clean, LOTS of hydration and supplements to recover and do PT FULL out!
Walking to the bathroom with my Crutches with my left leg ,has m Messed up my hip .today is my almost 4 days of Meniscus tear Surgery,I will not be able to walk Without my crutches for 5 more Weeks please tell us how do you What position you sleep on your bed ! That would be very helpful. Thank you For your your UA-cam videos.
Lay on your back, leg straight of course. You will be fine, it starts IN the MIND. Train upper body with light dumbbells and also do pull ups or anything you can. Even grip work w crush grippers daily and band pulls daily, it keeps the mind in a STRONG Place!
Stay focused mentally. Visualize the healing. Do everything your PT says and do research on recovery as well. Use electric Stim like the power dot OR, a local chiro / PT can do the electric stim.
Hi this is an old. Video but I'd love to hear about your recovery Im.4 weeks post op. 3rd attempt to repair as I've stage 4 arthiritus bone damage after acl reconstruction 2 yrs ago. I've never been able. To walk proper since my injury. I'm 41 and piled on the pounds. I need some hope that I'll be able to start the gym I've not been able to bend kneal after my acl recon the two yrs after it I've had 2 more surgeries meniscus repair the same one so 3 surgeries in two yrs and never recovered fully inbetween each surgery. I'm partial weight bare but I have to wait till wk 8 to drive and loose crutches I'm missing summer again 😭😂 are you ok now and working out OK?
I'm training great, just squatted 405 no problem. See all my recent videos and instagram.com/zevenesh/ You see me training all the time. Sleds, calisthenics, kettlebells. Check it all out and if you need private online coaching, that is also an option. Info is here: zacheven-esh.com/have-a-question/
@@ZEvenEshjust to clarfiy, u removed the torn meniscus instead of repairing it? Isnt it something that deteriorates overtime? Wouldnt that make it bad for long term since ur basically speeding up that process of deterioration
I just got a meniscectomy and a lateral knee release ! This is painful man I feel you I can’t even get up to use the restroom that’s how bad the pain is, pain killers ain’t doing their job. How long did it take for you to actually start walking ?
I had a blood clot which really screwed up the recovery process :( With a meniscus full repair you go 6 weeks on crutches, non weight bearing. Keep me posted! Get on the newsletter ZachSTrength.com

They removed the stitches? My doc said they will have to be permanent?
Stay strong brother! I look forward to following your journey!
Thanks, my brotha!
All the best Zach! Thanks for giving us the honesty, a lot of coaches fake it and we know you are real, good or bad.
Gotta share the ups and downs!!
Just had this done yesterday. Very sore and uncomfortable. Tomorrow will be day 3, hope to feel better
Get to PT and keep Building! Day ONE not one day!

It goes fast! Eat clean and crush the PT, do upper body as you can as it keeps you feeling good mentally AND physically.

Hey man how long did the freaking pain last I had surgery yesterday and holy crap am I in pain today. I slept one hour last night
It takes time, the biggest "pain" is the crutches for 6 weeks! One day at a time, stay the course!!
I feel this bro, I week post right now. The sorrow will eat you up if you let it
Hey my man I just had meniscus surgery on the 27 of April first time having surgery. Could you tell me at what week you could bear weight? Or even going to the gym?
I had a FULL repair so it was 6 weeks on crutches. If you had a simple scope, I was off crutches as soon as I got home :)

Just had surgery for the second time yesterday and the pain is real its very frustrating 😢
First 72 hours sucks, it's a mind game. Get your crush grippers and a band, sneak in the work throughout your day. Crush the PT when it begins!

Hey bro how’s your knee?
Pretty good, NOT great! Gotta be very careful w/ things. That was the 4th knee surgery.
I had my surgery a week ago and I started walking day 2
With a FULL Meniscus repair, you are non weight bearing for 4 - 6 weeks. With meniscus scope, you can walk day of with no crutches.
I need to get surgery for a tear in my knee and afraid of recovery it’s a tear nothing super crazy
Meniscus scope is very fast recovery. Full repair like mine was 6 weeks on crutches. I did my own rehab. LOTS of sleds

It is tough
My foots been hitting the floor theres no gucking way for it not too
4 weeks in, no weight bearing
Just follow PT and stay the course. Once PT begins, ask what you can extra on your own, slow and steady!
Get better. Use red light therapy to help heal faster
Awesome, thanks for the tip!!
