We are all fed up listening always and always to the same piano concertos, we will finish by hating them, repertoires should change with composers like this one and thousand of others who are still unknown!!!!! There are wonderful composers everywhere, pls don´t wear out our souls with Chopin, Grieg, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, etc concertos. We all know these are beautiful concerts, but playing them permanently all the time will make us hate them in the end!!!!! Repertoires should be interpersed with concerts by other composers like Moskowsky, Hummel, etc etc, since they are practically unknown !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Samuel Furse In the same country, not city. At the time Prague was in Austria, along with the rest of the modern state of the Czech Republic. He may have been a Czech by ethnicity, but he was an Austrian by nationality.
He was Bohemian, really. And Bohemia, along with the rest of what we think of now as the Czech Republic was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire; Austria as a country didn't exist until 1918. One last piece of pedantry: Salzburg was an independent principality and later electorate until 1805, well after Mozart died.
What a discovery! Delightful, such a shame he is not better known. Thank you for posting.
Another wonderful treat from the "Unjustly Neglected Contemporaries of Beethoven" file! Thank you for sharing! Enjoyed it immensely!
Absolutely blew me away, wish our national classical stations would steer away from Elgar and Beethoven and “find” these gems.🤓
You are right !
Excelente...!!
Magnífico...!!
Precioso...!!🌷
TOMASEK? How are you ? I have never heard of you until today... and I am glad I have. Your music is lovely!
Bellissimo! Da riscoprire. Tra Mozart e Beethoven. Musica freschissima. Grazie per avermelo proposto 👋👋👋

Nice piece!
Beautiful ! Thanks for posting :)
Excelente
Excellent work. Perhaps could be mistaken for Hummel. Vague romantic hints.
E questo sarebbe un Autore Minore? Costui era un genio!
Baie mooi.
a little like Hummel nice piece

Very Mozart-like.
+Brian Knapp Well they lived about the same period in the same country.
Are you sure? Mozart died nearly 60 years before this man, and lived in Salzburg and Vienna rather than Prague.
Václav Jan Křtitel Tomášek (17 April 1774, Skuteč, Bohemia - 3 April 1850, Prague) was a Czech composer and music teacher.

Wonder if I’m related to this guy
He looks like Wagner.
