  • Today's video will review my FAVOURITE HYDRATING KOREAN SUNSCREENS at the moment! I typically prefer a dewy finish for my skin, and that is why some of my favourite hydrating sunscreens are Asian :)
    I have also thrown in one North American brand for good measure ;)
    I will review a number of sunscreens (predominately Korean sunscreens) - all of which I have personally tested on my skin for the last few months and/or years. For reference, I have combination, sensitive/rosacea-prone, dehydrated skin, so the performance of these sunscreens is based on that.

    Good morning everyone! Hope you enjoy today's round up of sunscreens. I wear a daily sunscreen as the last step in my AM skincare routine every day for 2 reasons: The first is to protect my skin from the damaging rays of the sun (well-aging purposes), and the second reason is that the sun is a trigger for my rosacea.
    Looking forward to reading your thoughts/opinions on the sunscreens reviewed - but please drop your fave type of sunscreen (mineral/chemical), finish of sunscreen (matte/dewy), and of course your sunscreen recommendations!

    Nice list! I think I will probably give that Numbuzin formula a go. I have a suggestion for you as well! The Goodal Heartleaf Calming Moisture Sun Cream is my favorite. It is free of fragrance, EOs, and alcohol and sits, IMO, perfectly. It also lacks niacinamide and hyaluronic acid for those who try to avoid those ingredients or who are already getting them elsewhere in their routine and don't want to double (or triple!) up. Goodal also has a physical sunscreen, so be sure you're getting the right (organic) one. I can't gush about it enough.

    I was REALLY struggling with tinted sunscreens (gave up on foundation due to dryness) and then found… Dr Jart which is Korean. Dewy dewy dewy with a nice tint. It’s also mineral and clean. Only issue is the price point is in the $40ish range. Thank goodness I found this channel and I’m not alone with my issues! Looking forward to trying other Korean & Japanese products.

      Thank you for your comment! I agree with you - Korean/Japanese sunscreen formulations are just next level. Our North American counterparts are trying to catch up, but in many cases the filters approved for Asian sunscreens aren't approved here, so they are just more cosmetically elegant in my opinion. Glad you are here!

    Great list of options. Thanks! I use CeraVe daily moisturizer spf30 everyday as my morning moisturizer. On days I know I’ll be outside more than usual, I apply an extra layer of Mad About Skin advanced sunscreen cream spf50. Btw, I usually prefer UA-cam vids that are less than 10mins long.

    Hello, Christa... I've been following you for a long time. I am 52 :) I mostly have milias around my eyes, and less often on my face. My skin is generally normal, with the T-zone being slightly oily. Can you recommend any EYE GEL for the darkness around the eyes, which will not cause milia? By the way, I don't live in Canada. So, your suggestion should also be accessible globally. Thank you ;)

    listening to your video does make doing taxes less dull. thank you! have you ever tried the "Oligo Hyaluronic Acid Waterfull Tone Up" from "The Lab"? I really enjoy this one atm, since I'm lazy to use foundation and this one replaces it completely. I also love "Beet The Sun" from "Krave Beauty", although they use only older filters since US is their main target audience. And my sensitive skin enjoys "Force Shield" from "Hero" on a days after Retinoid, it has a green color correcting properties, bit casty, but still smooth af and since my skin is so fair that I'm basically Casper the friendly ghost, I'm fine with a hint of a cast.

    Hi Christa! Your skin looks so healthy. Just beautiful. Round labs is my go to but I love trying new ones I put sunscreen directly on my eyes the round labs does not burn my eyes 🙌❤️ if you could maybe let us know if the ones you review burn when getting near the eyes that would be so much appreciated. Nobody ever talks about this and that’s what I’m looking for. Thank you so much, great video 😘

      I am happy to hear Round Lab is safe for your eyes - I am not the best person to comment on eye sting - I don't typically have that problem! The times I get eye sting is actually when I am swimming, and the sunscreen goes into my eyes alongside the water. Unfortunately - I am not swimming very often - so I don't have that experience! It happened recently with the Hatomugi sunscreen I bought - which is a shame, because it is a 250ml size! It works fine on my skin when not in the water, but swimming - it stung my eyes.
      I will definitely call out the ones when it does happen though! Thanks for your comment :)

    I love Asian sunscreens. I’ll never go back to Western sunscreens. I really love Beauty By Joseon. Right now I’m using the Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella spf. They had a great price on them during the Amazon prime sales a month ago. I bought a two pack of them for a great price! Love love Asian sunscreens 😊

    I love Korean and Japanese sunscreens but I am having so much trouble buying them online from Calgary, Alberta! Any suggestions where I don’t have to pay high shipping and/or duty fees from Canada?

    Wow, so many interesting choices !I am new to Korean beauty but putting some of these on my list to try.I live in Toronto, do you have a favorite place to purchase these from? Thank you for all the great info you share !!!!

      I am on the West side of Toronto - so sometimes I go to Sukoshimart in Square One, but more often than not - I order online from either Stylevana or YesStyle - it just takes a LONG time to arrive!!

    • @sugerless20
      @sugerless20 2 місяці тому

      I'm wondering where people by from too. Stylevanna & Yesstyle have a VERY high threshold for free shipping to Canada & I don't buy a lot at once. Where do you buy from Christa? My sunscreens are expiring & I want to try Asian ones. One big deal breaker for me is eye stinging & a long dry down time because I don't want smudges on my sunglasses, phone or walker.

    • @ChristaEvelyn
      @ChristaEvelyn  11 місяців тому

      I do the same with some of my tinted minerals, only because my skin is so fair, so to get the full SPF coverage, I would have to use a fair bit, and then the tint will look off on my skin!

    I love your videos and recommendations. However, I wish your videos had more clips and photos of the products you’re recommending. I need to see the product packaging longer to get a good mental picture of it, to match with the information you’re giving. I feel like there’s too much face time/talking to the camera, and not enough breaks for clips and photos. It’s hard to stay focused on someone’s videos, and focused on their information, when they are just sitting there talking to the camera. Your product clips are too short. 😊 but I do love your videos and recs 😊
