Awesome..game of trees does a video in Wisconsin with the creator of grcs,Kevin ham ..game of trees ..he has the 4th one ever made..great video .its amazing all the pride in the tree guys that don't watch learn and respect Kevin..most underrated arborist
Very good job! My only critique/suggestion would be that it was installed a bit too low, I believe it should be at waist high….GRCS kicks ass!! So safe, and saves so much time!… I’ve only used the an old version of the competition: a Hobbs device. Almost identical, but a lot harder to crank it as you have to do it with a large metal bar, can be physically hard and awkward angles. I just wish this GRCS was more affordable….
Good work guys! Video never does justice to the size of a limb. In person viewing also never does justice to limbs. They are always bigger and longer than they ever look from the ground. The GRCS is good for 3500 pounds, maybe 3000; I would need to check the specs. Definitely plenty for a single limb. A neat thing about the GRCS is that you can use a large drill with a special bit and use that to activate the GRCS instead of the hand crank. I know what you mean about using the helmet comms. I still find myself yelling. A hard habit to break.
After I got hit hard from the kickback of a branch using the grcs, and got a nasty bruise in my leg, I decided to cut the branch nearly to the breaking point, get out of the tree, and then crank the grcs until it breaks it. A lot more time consuming but safer.
Are there knockoff GRCS devices on the market? I wasn't aware of any, but you said in the title if your GRCS was real. Maybe I should check and see if I have the real version or a knockoff.

Kevin knows tons of tricks to using it.amd sells rigging rings with 100ft Tennex set from ground. Beauty
