thank you for this video! I love my grcs.. "when is comes to dynamic loading don't test your luck!'' I love that. Remember every five feet an object drops its weight impact is DOUBLED!
Awesome video! guess you saw the volvo bottom out .. Thanks to all for the good effort... Lags are a good idea.. I've bent the fairleads on a grcs.. hope they beef them up now... that shouldn't be a weak point..
Copy and paste of a few friends having fun. Personally I like the GRCS but it's a situation dependant thing I the long run. Bottom line, don't drop your Volvo with slack!
No, I don't know. I posted this video with permission of one of the men that was involved in performing the tests and cteating the video. You can go to Gerry's youtube page and ask him if you wish. ua-cam.com/users/atreestory
It’s so stupid that most of these lowering devices have only one strap!! You definitely want 2 straps one at the top and one at the bottom with a 1 foot space between them then she ain’t going nowhere
All this junk about cutting a grove for the device to sit?? It’s restarted! Just use 2 straps get them tight then retighten after the first few limbs have been rigged, simple
I love you guys for having done this awesome video! What a way to spend the day. Legendary!
The guy doing the music for this video is a genius!
Lol. Not under my control but thanks for watching!

Slack rope = danger. Thanks for watching!
This is what can happen when you let a (big) load "run"...
Yes, somewhat of an extreme example but glad to be able to share the video.

awsome violence!
I miss Snarf!!!
moral or the story, dont rig huge loads with 6ft of slack
Man!! that is some waste of good rigging control systems!!!
thats the cost of destructive testing, thanks for watching and commenting!
Testing to destruction is never a waste.
what a waste of perfectly useable rigging devices
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Testing is not a waste. Be glad someone else can afford this expensive learning curve.

Why take the chance of letting it slip at all?
do you know what impact block was used on this test?
From the quick look i got of it in the video, it looks like the pulley they use as a tail hold for a logging yarder!
