Sarah - welcome to the general embroidery world. Not just cross stitch, but other styles of embroidery. I have done all kinds of embroidery all my life and have belonged to my local Winnipeg Embroiderers' Guild for many years. I was Treasurer, Vice-President and President and even designed the tartan for our Guild which is registered in Scotland. Those "specialty stitches" in some cross stitch pieces are merely part of the general embroidery pantheon. You will enjoy learning new things. Our guild has Zoom stitch ins several times a month.

Red is certainly your color, Sarah! I'm looking at the piece I am working on now, and there are three hanging threads of hope. Thought of you yesterday and smiled. I'm drastically changing colors, and am going to have to go back and recolor some of what it done (not a ton) but think I will be happier with the changes. When I was stuck and unsure, I remembered coloring when I was a child and could happily pick whatever color I wanted. Not using crayons! But threads are the just another coloring tool - so am going forward. Thanks for the Flosstube inspiration.

Thx Sarah!! Great video!! My grandson was taught sign language, 25 years ago. I had no clue. Daughter a great mother. Grin. Fast forward to our great grandson, grandsons nephew, who head been learning it. It is soooo helpful for when they are non verbal, you understand their needs so much more, less frustration all around. Glad you mentioned it.

Thanks for the video visit! I have started the Pennsylvania Red Deer, as I finished the last of my holiday ornaments, and awarded myself a new start! Gave the temperature dragon to my son this weekend, and he loves it. He's going to decide how he wants it FFO'd (pillow, plaque, framed, etc). Once that is determined, I'll create the color key and info for the piece so he has all of that. Looking forward to seeing you on the 24th!

You might want to also try Soie Surfine for over 1 - it's thinner than 100/3, and can be used with a smaller needle. I always use it with a #12 short tapestry point beading needle for over 1 and I think scaling both the thread and the needle to the stitch makes it easier. Thank you so much for your kind words - you are truly such a beautiful and generous soul. Small world, too! We used to go to Bear Valley when I was a child, and we'd always stay in Murphys.

Another wonderful flosstube Sarah! The hummingbirds-, lol we are in a severe drought in WV, so I spend literally hours a day feeding and watering hummingbirds, other birds, squirrels and chipmunks and deer. Takes up stitching time, but to have a deer look you directly in the eyes as if to say thank you, makes it worth it. Blessings

Oh I was talking to her via messenger for many yrs, have shared info on healing (have her book), recipes, and of course crafts. I also had grown sunflowers and never had any bloom, this yr had buds and I had said will show you a pic when it blooms. Well I was happy sad as it bloomed day after she died, bittersweet. I will miss her dearly, but have maNy photos, watercolours and notes from her snd will add that with her book. She definitely will be missed.😢❤ shares are awesome. I have a biscournu pattern but haven’t started,won’t be this yr. My daughter has 7 chicks well they aren’t old but are pretty big, and 3 just tiny ones. Her husband is building the coop which is amazing as he doesn’t have a clue about building and is doing great. I am not a monogamous stitcher ever,however, sigh lol I am still working on totem since Feb1. I am on the last page finally! Omg Stephanie is so funny on her videos her Nashville and now these are so funny. Probably loiuse chap-pwe. Hard to spell,phonetically. The sound of p and we. Like saying ph ph we. Sarah, what a surprise that you mentioned you were a Doctor, because at this moment I have developed a physical condition which I just discovered that it was caused by my inactivity in my daily life. So now I have to start slowly with a exercise therapy . I found that I was stitching for way to many hours straight without leaving my chair. I went from a month of limping to pain that I couldn't walk. Please point this out to fellow stitching friends. I'm waiting to hear from Grouper.

Sarah - welcome to the general embroidery world. Not just cross stitch, but other styles of embroidery. I have done all kinds of embroidery all my life and have belonged to my local Winnipeg Embroiderers' Guild for many years. I was Treasurer, Vice-President and President and even designed the tartan for our Guild which is registered in Scotland. Those "specialty stitches" in some cross stitch pieces are merely part of the general embroidery pantheon. You will enjoy learning new things. Our guild has Zoom stitch ins several times a month.

Red is certainly your color, Sarah! I'm looking at the piece I am working on now, and there are three hanging threads of hope. Thought of you yesterday and smiled. I'm drastically changing colors, and am going to have to go back and recolor some of what it done (not a ton) but think I will be happier with the changes. When I was stuck and unsure, I remembered coloring when I was a child and could happily pick whatever color I wanted. Not using crayons! But threads are the just another coloring tool - so am going forward. Thanks for the Flosstube inspiration.

My grandson was taught sign language, 25 years ago. I had no clue. Daughter a great mother. Grin. Fast forward to our great grandson, grandsons nephew, who head been learning it. It is soooo helpful for when they are non verbal, you understand their needs so much more, less frustration all around.

Thanks for the video visit! I have started the Pennsylvania Red Deer, as I finished the last of my holiday ornaments, and awarded myself a new start! Gave the temperature dragon to my son this weekend, and he loves it. He's going to decide how he wants it FFO'd (pillow, plaque, framed, etc). Once that is determined, I'll create the color key and info for the piece so he has all of that. Looking forward to seeing you on the 24th!

This week she had a NIPT test and everything was all good, very thankfull for that. You might want to also try Soie Surfine for over 1 - it's thinner than 100/3, and can be used with a smaller needle. I always use it with a #12 short tapestry point beading needle for over 1 and I think scaling both the thread and the needle to the stitch makes it easier. Another wonderful flosstube Sarah! The hummingbirds-, lol we are in a severe drought in WV, so I spend literally hours a day feeding and watering hummingbirds, other birds, squirrels and chipmunks and deer. Takes up stitching time, but to have a deer look you directly in the eyes as if to say thank you, makes it worth it. Blessings

I’m about to start a 1 over 1 stitch on 28 count linen by Jody at Cedar River Linens - I’ll post on IG my progress if I can do it. 😊 I’ve been having fun feeding jelly to Baltimore Orioles this year and oh my gosh - they go through a lot of jelly. I wish I could get some hummingbirds to come to feed though. Oh I was talking to her via messenger for many yrs, have shared info on healing (have her book), recipes, and of course crafts. I also had grown sunflowers and never had any bloom, this yr had buds and I had said will show you a pic when it blooms. Well I was happy sad as it bloomed day after she died, bittersweet. I will miss her dearly, but have maNy photos, watercolours and notes from her snd will add that with her book. She definitely will be missed.😢❤ shares are awesome. I have a biscournu pattern but haven’t started,won’t be this yr. My daughter has 7 chicks well they aren’t old but are pretty big, and 3 just tiny ones. Her husband is building the coop which is amazing as he doesn’t have a clue about building and is doing great. I am not a monogamous stitcher ever,however, sigh lol I am still working on totem since Feb1. I am on the last page finally! Omg Stephanie is so funny on her videos her Nashville and now these are so funny. Probably loiuse chap-pwe. Hard to spell,phonetically. The sound of p and we. Like saying ph ph we. Sarah, what a surprise that you mentioned you were a Doctor, because at this moment I have developed a physical condition which I just discovered that it was caused by my inactivity in my daily life. So now I have to start slowly with a exercise therapy . I found that I was stitching for way to many hours straight without leaving my chair. I went from a month of limping to pain that I couldn't walk. Please point this out to fellow stitching friends. I'm waiting to hear from Grouper.
