  • Demonstrating and talking about the usefulness of the flameless cooker. I really am happy to have this item and I feel they have gotten a bad rap by some folks that havent actually taken them out and tried them in the woods.

    Very handy. Tip: use parchment (cooking) paper in the pan and avoid dishwashing altogether.

    Very good video brother. My interests at this point would be the heat producing packets. Their description and how to obtain such a needed product for hikers . This is an excellent deterrent for " NO CAMP FIRES" in our parks. For me, Unacceptable.. Suggestions, where might one buy these, tested, approved, heater products? So many questions brought up in our hiking/cooking/ process talk. Most other foods (to be cooked) could be housed in Gallon/Quart freezer bags. Bags for boiling temps. Don't forget the Steam Bags by Ziploc and others. Oh...... SC Johnson don't give me a damn thing.. Ifin yall got a better product idea for boiling water, light weight, packable, pricest so you DON'T have to 2nd morgage on the home, cost... what a hiker would need and can afford.

      Abdulla Ex I get mine from Amazon. Also the emergency essentials website carries these. Prices tend to fluctuate depending on stock. It comes out to being about $1.50-$2.00 a heater. Not the cheapest option but I like the ease of use for fire season.

    I think I'd have split it in half. Mountain House meals are two servings.

      mike_outdoors 1981 thanks Mike! There is two companies that make these as far as I know. At least two that are popular. The other is called Baracook. Maybe spelled different but it is the same. They just make their containers a different shape.

      @@Preparation101 doesn't look like they have made it to Britain yet, although I probably would stick to portable stoves because as long as they are off the ground, they are generally OK to use anywhere. 👍

      mike_outdoors 1981 I haven’t used one of those yet. I got this thing as a gift a while back and was impressed by it. Maybe someday I will give the little stoves a try.

    I never understood the problem with carrying a large bulk item in your bug outpack especially a cooking container or so on that space inside the cooking item is empty space You could fill it up with anything you want.

    How long does the heating pack last and how much does it cost for replacement pads in USD?

    • @Preparation101
      @Preparation101  5 років тому +2

      Jonesin4Rock they only store well for a couple years. They stay hot for about 20min. And it is about $18 for a 10 pack of heaters.
