  • Hey All,
Today I set up and provide a bit of a run down / review of the DOOA Terra Base and DOOA Neo Glass Air, as well as the other items I used to set it up.
For lighting I decided to try out the Lominie Asta 20 Freshwater which I have also been pleasantly surprised with.
DOOA Terra Bases are a great project for anyone who is keen to branch out into Wabi Kusa, Emerged grown plants and terrariums and I would recommend for any skill level.
Lominie Asta 20 Freshwater - I purchase this via Amazon AU - www.amazon.com...
I got my Terra Base by contacting New Life Aquarium Mitcham and ordering through their Facebook page - / newlifeaquariummitcham
    Enjoy!

I have enough trouble with submerged plants let alone emersed. But dose look good. Can’t wait to see it grown out.

Emmersed is easy, no algae or snail or fish to mess them up

I have a question about the glass. What is the gap between the bottom glass and the top glass,? empty space. Very nice arrangement. Greetings from Poland.

      @BlakesAquatics  4 роки тому +1

Hi Matthew, its just a design element of the Dooa neo line of tanks, supposed to give a minimalist feature, its just a raised bottom though, just air.

@@BlakesAquatics OK I understand. I was more concerned with how much free space is there? I just want to make similar glass. I need dimensions :) Thanks.

Hi Blake😊 I know this video is 3 years old now but was wondering if you still have this terrarium set up. Most you tube channels that feature this style of ceramic planter find the whole thing very high maintenance. Would love to know your experience and if you would still recommend it. Many thanks and Merry Christmas 👍

It has had a few iterations. Still running but yes quite high maintenance

Thanks for asking as well. I was just about to drop some money on this but I will just use dooa's ceramic mounting plates for my orchids. My house is at 70% humidity on its own by the ocean so I dont think I need an enclosure@@daveo544

Might try this but with a piece of old log, as log decays it probably provides nutrients at the same time

    Groovy idea. Few thoughts.
    - Wonder if any non glazed ceramic vase would work (fired or even air dry).
    - A selfie ring light that youtubers often use could be great for even growth around the column.
    - Ebay "ultrasonic donut". You'll see little USB floating foggers. You could place one inside the column. have it attatched to a timer to go off for a minute every so often. You'd have to refill the column more often or add a sneaky air line auto water topup from the light (of perhaps hidden by tallish plant/disguised as vines).
The fogger looks cool, great for humidity and allows more vessel and lid variations while still keeping plants moist.
    - Peppermint spray is really common amongst gardeners and indoor plant enthusiasts. Usually as a pest deterrent. You can buy it for a couple of $ at many places. Use it every other week (too often can be a problem for some plants). plus simply refill the fert spray bottle with aquarium plant fert diluted with decriminalised water (full strength could burn non submerged leaves).
