i owned two evs.. both audi and bmw any road trip is always stresfull since i had issues in past charging , the fastest charge speed i had was 28 min from 20 to 80 ... i cant charge to 100 % due to battery deg.. wont even mention lines to charge always and winter time is hell battery swap is the feature always will be in many reasons , for batter health checks , battery life times and efficenciy as well as comfort for the customer .. this all will show very very soon , the only way we get more ppl to buy EV is to buy cars that can swap or charge.

Many say that swapping is stupid because they will load with supercharging in few minutes in the future but they don't realize that it is not the problem, but the saturation of the electrical network to charge so many vehicles. Swapping is the solution to avoid pressures on the electrical grid and provide residual energy at the same time. It is a more sustainable and ecological system.

Only works if no one use it 😅😅😅. If everyone get swap . The waiting time will be x20 and the place to install this big boxes taking 2,3 cars space away is not the solution. How much swap I need to swap 100 cars?
How many swap. Station are needed and how many time to swap and charge. With curent electricity. Where will be the expensive one
      Tesla have better solution
They can install so many Chargers= parking slots. And they also build battery storage. Where 1 storage is times More than one swap station. They coud charge more car per minut and use the power storage they have for cheeper charging from bigger battery storage. Where can be someware faraway not using important space.

      -more warany7of battery
      -more user friendly battery changing.
Can this happen in 10 years and will this help the swap or hurt it?.
The Nio SEO say to wait 10 years.
But if I look past 10 and see future 10 we are heading to this points I say above.
And having this expensive battery swap buildings around expensive areas in towns. While other battery storage using placece more cheeper to build and maintain...
What why I not like Nio approach to swap. They shoud invest in other part of the company. 1 make a Profitable car.
1 car where they earn enouth to build next one. Not only frowning money away. What why many investor don't like NIO becouse they frow money in the toilet. Your money. My money.. Money for fancy showrooms with fancy art and what not where don't bring any valiu to investors.
I am bulish of Nio becouse I see tesla exploding soon and Nio is more then 95% down. If tesla jump Nio will get some valiu also. And Procentage wise only to recover to all time high is much more than tesla. But if they continiu to invest in this swap I don't see a future nun Nio at all

Battery Swap vs Fast Charging is no brainer, it is simply Physic 101 on electricity and material. Battery Swap is a problem/solution in an easily replaceable box, in 3 minutes, and customers need not get involved in the work or unpredictable cost. Degradation of battery of any chemistry/material is positively correlated to the amount of current used in the charging. Unless the battery is easily replaceable, eg via swap, fast charging = fast disposal of battery needed. Fast charging also demand stronger gauge of cable, larger capacitor/electronics, ie, more costly charging units.
Battery Swap advantages: 1) can do fast charging if not near swap stations, 2) is future proof for new chemistry/material of new age battery, bc they can always be packed in the same form factor for swapping, 3) can vary battery capacity and newness, eg, 70kwh vs 150kwh for different trip lengths, 4) is supported by government policy, 5) I say so!

battery swap's a no brainer. It's guaranteed battery tech will improve but so did the mpg for ICE cars but that didn't mean we needed less gas stations. Keep building out the infrastructure and it will be the norm. Plus humans are inherently lazy. BaaS will be as popular as drive through fast food joints. It just takes time

Quality video analysis on the NIO stock, from what i can see on it's chart,
-the NIO is poised for upward movement as it is sitting well within a point of discount
-i would expect the stock to start heading to the upside in the coming days, but this doesn't mean the fast charge issue would be easy to fix
-if they can find a solution to this and alter their products i think it would do well for their products
The only true test of whether a stock is “cheap” or “high” is not its current price in relation to some former price, no matter how accustomed we may have become to that former price, but whether the company’s fundamentals are significantly more or less favorable than the current financial-community appraisal of that stock.

Degredation may not only be somewhat less distance. It may mean that you loose top speed and acceleration to the extent that the car is unsafe to drive.

@@martina5328 They have an eight year warranty for the same reason all cars have a warranty period. The facts are EVs out last ICE vehicles by a wide margin including the batteries you can verify that in about five minutes of research. You have Teslas built in 2014 a decade ago with over 200,000 miles still holding 80% of their original range. What do you think today’s modern batteries are going to do after a decade of use. I’m not against swapping it has its usefulness but acting like it’s necessary because you won’t get a reasonable amount of years out of the vehicle before it needs to be scraped is just out of touch with reality and is the claim of many legacy ice vehicle makers and it can easily be debunked. Nio is offering a solution that some consumers want plenty of people would rather get a discount on the car and make monthly payments on a battery kind of like filling up a gas tank something many consumers are used to. It’s a nice option my point is it’s going to be popular in some regions of the world but it’s not a solution that Tesla will ever adopt. BYD might adopt it probably out of pressure from CPP they seem to want to push this in China I don’t think they would otherwise clearly most consumers don’t care about swapping as the vast majority of EVs are made by Tesla and BYD and their consumers are not asking for it. I’m an investor in Nio and when ONVO comes out it will be exciting to see how it does in the mass market it does give them a lot of flexibility on the up front cost of the car I think that will be an advantage.

Tesla is very innovative as well they are not putting out the same old ICE vehicles that we have been making for decades some new issues are going to arise when you are disrupting an old industry with new technology.

    dont agree.
what about that every year that battery getting better and better. to a point they don't degree.
you wana say if a new battery technology come out NIO go down immediately , that so risky
also price is going down and down . i look to the future not to the past . and the future tells me different story.
they shoud leave the swap and concentrate in battery technology and chargers .

@@David_Financial 3 min if noone before you. How i see it. You need to wait sometime 2hours + to have your battery charged. Or other people in front of you.
A big portion of people will go sleep and car is charging for 0min of your time.
Soon every parking will be a charger.
You go to supermarket you. Come back an car is full. Charger will be everywhere. On every stop where so and so you Stop.
3 min in best case scenario..
I realy don't see a real usage for this all drama with the swap.
Only 1 positive is to buy and sell cheep. But that better build more cheeper batty boxex 😅😅. I am very bulish of Nio But The swap is somethink I am realy disappointed. From the fist day he anaunce was a stupid idea....

@@SailingTerra You are correct that it’s 3 min if nobody is in front of you. But you are being a little narrow minded with the swap stations. They are way more than just battery swapping. They also will be selling power back to the grid as needed. So they will be a big revenue generator. If you live in the states you know as well as I do they will never have charging stations at every corner. Way too expensive and our government is doing NOTHING to help build a charging infrastructure. Also swapping allows you to keep your vehicle longer if you want to and gives it better retail selling as it’s not stuck to a degraded battery. You can never be sure how an owner of a car took car of their battery. They probably know they will only have it for a few years and could care less. We are allowed to have our own opinions that’s what makes forums great. But I guess we will just have to wait and see how it plays out.

@@SailingTerra I also forgot, in your scenario where you plug up and go shopping, same applies to you. Almost every time I go to charge I have to wait for a charger. And waiting 2 hours for a battery swap means there would be 40 cars in front of me. I hardly doubt that is true.

@@David_Financial this revenue will work if no cars are charging all the time. What why Tesla power storage is much better solution for what. Much more capasaty. Les expensive to build. And not using expensive space in an expensive city.
The battery swaping. They charge on the the curent electricity price not on cheap . They don't have the capasaty to store so much. They will use the most expensive electric to swap your cars battery. Becouse is a working enviorement and no one will wait for the cheeper price..
Having a much larger capasaty size like tesla energy storage. Can provide cheep electric. Much more efficient.
What will happen if tesla say tomorow life time warranty of battery. And they can recycle the old battery for storage. What will happend with all stations swaps.
I realy don't see a future in swap.
      -To complicated
      - takes to much valiu space.
-waiting time to much if more car use it.
-energy storage works only if you not using the batterys for cars.
-convincing other company's to make same technology... Dificult
. What why I think swap station is not a future product it is a now but to late. Future looks difrent
