In your opinion i know timing is an always changing component as a hitter but i notice some guys start at the pitchers leg lift. Thoughts?
That was my trigger to "start" too when I was playing. So I would say yes, to your observation. Guys throw hard now and if you are late, you've been ate.

Such and underrated channel. Also I paired up my swing with Mookies and one thing I notice is how far infront he catches it. In my swing I was catching the ball about at my front knee, and mookie it catching out at his front foot so I will definitley use that approach you gave.

Hey Coach. My son and I loved this video. The way you give in depth analysis and also show drills to help improve your swing is magical! Very easy to understand and follow. My son is 11 and a little undersized so we are really working hard on proper loading and efficiently swinging. Thank you for sharing! Any other tips to help my son learn how to properly load?

Yes please make video pull balls and also how to keep bat through hitting zone square. How far past the zone or plate is it time to pull up. What are good drills for that? I notice my son could get a lot more hits by his hands staying within the zone longer. Even if he’s a bit early if he maintains bat square through zone hands in longer it would translate to good hits I believe

This is the first video I've watched with my son, and we watch a lot, where we both got excited and want to rework his swing from the info we got here and he gets hitting lessons and his coach is solid but this was so great. You really were able to key on the small details. And you're likeable. (: We are Padre fans so at first we thought you were Tony THE GOAT.

@@JermaineCurtis55 oh no doubt I will be looking at more and eventually later down the road share ideas. As far as making videos on UA-cam..I’m going to need to find me a book of “how to” for dummies lol. What do you use for video editing when analyzing baseball swings?
For editing and analyzing videos, I actually just download the video from youtube and just time what I'm saying with the video. I also use Camtasia for an editing software. Its a screen recording software and very basic editing software. It will take a year to really learn it, in my opinion.
What other questions you have for editing and analyizing videos?
Hey coach when you talk about getting the back elbow into the slot position does that happen naturally as the hips start to rotate or does the player have to think about that move himself

Hey coach, can you post the secrets you have to create optimal backspin?
One of my favorite things to do to create back spin is by using a fungo. It will tell you instantly if you have a good swing or a bad swing. And it will teach how to create it. There are tons of drills but this one is my favorite.
They double play drill I mastered that one it’s where you roll over to the second baseman and ruin the mood of your whole team

I've taught my son to take the knob to the ball first in order to pull the ball. Is that correct? would love to see a video on how to do this.
Knob to the ball would work. That's easy to understand for young players. I usually just say to my kids that you should be able to see the barrel of the bat hit the ball. As well as your top hand...That means they will hit it out front. Plus, it's easy to visualize for young hitters.
Another way of saying to pull it, I learned from the Upton Brothers, they say hands out front of body. That naturally teaches players to hit it out front. Thanks for watching Los Sr!
