one thing i find interesting about the substance is how the people who made it dont seem antagonistic or evil, they just kind of exist. the people who said the movie was bad because we dont get to learn who the people behind the substance is are missing the point
People just hated the ending bc it was bizarre, i mean, the whole Body Horror genre is about bizarre and gruesome things, i think this movie just caught the attention of people who don't understand this kind of movies and it doesn't help that The Substance is promoted as the common Horror when is not exactly that.
Teenagers need to understand that not everything needs world building, sometimes the story is about people and the "fantastic instruments" are just a means to an end. This is art.
They talkshit about the ending because it was made like some gruesome body horror online video but they forget the whole scene has so many meanings and hidden details about the reality
Yeah that’s the point, not knowing who they are is what makes this movie or them more eerie like if they’re a secret organization or cult that are living amongst us and seem to be everywhere (since one of them was a doctor)or are starting to since she’s number 503
Such a perfect depiction of what an ad for a black market product would look like. Simple, short, and under budgeted but doesn’t really explain anything
I just noticed the detail at 0:35 where when the guy divides the yolk into two one is perfectly round unlike the other, like how Elizabeth sees her new body as perfect and her old one as horrible.
The Organisation is symbolic for the demand for youth. As long as The Industry demands beauty and youth, there are many organisations who will create many technologies like The Substance to supply the ones who need it.
The vibe that this question gives off, "Have you ever dreamed of a better version of yourself?", is almost the same as a demon offering a pact in exchange for your soul, and the best part is that Elizabeth really did sell her soul, even if only figuratively.
Probably not. This is more likely a satire of all those illegal drugs people purchase over the dark web for all sorts of reasons like early cancer treatment that is not legal in some countries and highly risky side effects, DIY plastic surgery kit, penis enlargement injection, backyard fentanyl, unknown shrooms, bitcoin driven THC from God knows where they grew out of, etc... Simply put, the person in the video represents "the faceless sellers" in the dark web who are willing to sell to people who are desperate enough.
@@nathanalves3284i’m not very religious but it does feel like an actual “temptation”, the idea is more of a pitch and almost makes you think it’s a good idea
this movie is a masterpiece
This beat has been living rent free in my head for the last 2 months.

The Substance is a Masterpiece. I like to think Herbert West created the Substance hence it is Green like the Re-Animator formula 😁

why do i feel like i'm in the movie
Such a perfect depiction of what an ad for a black market product would look like. Simple, short, and under budgeted but doesn’t really explain anything
I want the substance
I love how this movie clearly introduces its rules and sticks to them until the very end, as we see while the story progresses
Could have used the font they officially used in the movie though.
The self-forshadowing in the movie is at insane level. Even this clip is basically the entire plot, the slap and static...
So it's a sort of jekyll and hyde thing
"I'm fine."
Respect the balance.
Remember. You.are.one
The balance just need to be respect!
So respect it
Respected*
I just got mine today, I'm going to inject it next week, I can't wait!
Remember: Respect the balance
You are the matrix.
The one and only thing not to forget:
You are one.
So, has she started yet?
you're cooked

we been knew
How did you JUST notice that 😭
Wasnt it obvious
@@omarelmasri9939 No I actually missed that at first lol.

The marketing team is doing it for me

Nothing better than a touch of magic in this world obsessed with science
Awesome beat! And the voice 🔥
Yeah Fr perfect voice
has she started yet?
Eating away at you
This ad would work on me
love the beat sm
No I have not. As it happens, I'm pretty perfect as I am
The beat is awesone, i would use the substance without doubt
i saw the film last night and the phone call scenes got me saying “remember, you are one” a few times throughout.
This is so Good, I looked the vid Again and again 😂
I am curious how the work day usually goes for the customer service manager who consults Elisabeth about the substance
“Ahhh man, it’s 503 again. Alright, let me clear my throat, ahem-YES?”
“Have you ever dreamt of a better version of yourself?”
No, but I have dreamt of mind-made horrors beyond comprehension.
Lowkey real as hell
The ringu: 7 days
The substance: 7 days a week
What is it with horror movies and the number 7?
@Meme se7en was thriller than horror
I believe this guy is the devil. Preying on those who are vain and cling to the past. Giving them the tools to destroy themselves.
I think this guy is a god send 😂
