I had a minor engine leak a few years ago with my Macan GTS 2017 but nothing major and besides that, no problem what so ever. I’m at 108,000km and I still absolutely love the car.. 4.5 years I’ve had it, I’m still not tired of it. Highly recommend it
Wow! This is great to READ! I just purchased a used 2018 Porsche Macan with 68k on it. Glad to read that at 108k miles, the car still runs strong 💪🏾 👏🏾 👍🏾
I've done 15,000 miles in 2 Macans, think I'm in the front sensor comments. On my car it was a loose plastic front No.Plate that I fitted, setting off sensors when I braked as the ends moved a few mm. I secured the ends with adhesive pads - problem solved. PORSCHE fit metal plates. Rear wiper is the very small fiddly switch not easy to use. I had a warranty claim for poor fit of the clamshell bonnet, so bad it should not have left the factory! All fixed by dealer body shop. A fantastic car, just look at it in your video, best looking SUV available today.
I work at Porsche as a technician and yes that’s a huge problem the oil leaks it’s always the front timing case but it’s only got to do with 3 bolts, on the case so it’s just front end off and remove the bolts and torque up the new ones
I bought a 2015 Macan Turbo and I love it! But she burns oil a lot. Like a quart every 3 tanks of gas. Is it really that easy of a fix? If so, I'm going to the dealership tomorrow my friend.
Zane Ferris since you work as a technician I’d love to get your opinion on doing a stage one tune on a 2018 Macan S. I know that the dealership even offers one of their own. Does the transmission and differential have what it takes to handle such power increase? Or am I asking for trouble in the long run? Please shed some light on this. Your input would be greatly appreciated!
John Doe they can easily handle it nothing will be a problem I’ve seen stage 3s before and they are fine but stage 3 and upwards you will need a remap for your PDK but if you are only doing stage one that’s fine
@@Mjv2175 I am glad I could help, I hope you love the car as much as I do. I was very skeptical going from sports cars to a 'cross over SUV' but the handling is great, acceleration is sufficient, and it is luxurious and comfy, the stereo system is insane for a stock system too.
@@jerrydufresne1886 I pick it up friday :). I could not believe how well it handled and rode. Been a dream of mine to own a Porsche since I was a kid I'm beyond excited.
I have a 2017 Macan S, is an absolute great car, better than Mercedes and BMW which i owned prior to the Porsche. With regards to the parking sensors, they are sensitive, but they are supposed to be, one likes to know when you get to close to an object. In addition you have the option to turn it off with the switch located in the overhead console😀.
All EUROS are Nightmares................. use PREMIUM HUGE Maintenance cost............ and have you Loose your Big "A" with Re-Sale /depreciation..40 t0 50% first two years while..Lexus values used increase.......What dos that tell you dummies!
I have a 2015 Macan S Never missed a service! 1st out of warranty service by a few thousand miles...OIL LEAK!! $6,000 fix. Beware!! This is a common problem with Macan's and is ignored by dealership service until warranty is up!!
I just watched a video by a Porsche mechanic. He told a sad tail about the Macan 6. He said it’s a pos due to too many Audi parts, plastic parts, OIL LEAKS. He said the leaks come at 6,000 miles. The use of cheap aluminum bolts are all a over the car. The mechanic said it not a good car. Cayenne is a better car. The 911 is the one to buy. Drat! I have been dreamingof having a red Porsche Macan 6. I will rent one for a couple driving days.
Hello , ur macan S is diesel or petrol? I've heard about this issue its common on a macan s (but i dont know on which version ,i think petrol) its the aluminium bolts , they need go be changed with metal ones. Others have told me it was a 3000$ fix .
@@Melaifior Porsche told us it was a design flaw in the engine and would be changed when the model changes..mine was an S . They are well aware of the problem.
Maybe I missed it but I hear no mention on the juddering rear wiper. I had this on mine but someone on the Macan Forum suggested a simple fix which was to take it off and turn it around. Worked perfectly!
It's a fantastic car, agree the sensors drive me nuts, can confirm Porsche said live with the squeaking brakes, have had it back a few time for blown fuses, once on sun roof, twice with electric seats. If you have anything in the back that the seat pushes against, it'll blow the fuse. I'll forgive all that for the handling and general usefulness. I abuse mine with two dogs in the back, gets covered in mud and all kinds of crap on the back seats, but it scrubs up well. Only regret is not having the roof rails. I love the diesel too and the economy you get for a car with this performance is excellent.
Pretty much basic faults and dealt with (hopefully) under warranty. You’ve helped me make my mind up and the Jag is going and a Macan S is on the cards. A good site and nice to hear a Geordie accent.
I’ve owned a 2015 diesel Macan for just over 3 years now. Issues I’ve had are similar to ones commented on here. Failed transfer box at 30,000 miles. Main dealers refused to cover cost. DPF error message just the once. Frequent tyre pressure monitoring messages. Spurious parking sensor issue. Dodgy wipers. Seat bolsters easily damaged getting in and out. I’ve actually developed tendinitis since since using the Macan. I find the actual base of the seat too firm. Ive used memory foam cushions and the pain disappeared. Remove the cushion and the pain reappears. Went to check top up the washer fluid today and the bonnet won’t open. I’m still scratching my head on that one! Lol
My 2017 Macan S is great. My complaints are over sensitive blind spot sensors and the brakes sometimes grab in slow traffic, also the rain sensor is too ambitious.
I am 6'3" no issues at all with height or back seat. We bought a CPO 2018 S. This is a solid car, very well built, fun to drive and very nice. Has a lot of options the previous owner specked out. Over 16k in upgrades and we paid just a fraction of the upgrades. My only complaint is the wheels are ugly. They are the 5 spokes with 3 ribs each.
More issues since my transfer box failed. diesel particle filter “service” alarm appeared on screen. First course of action. Find a stretch of motorway, select manual then drive at a steady 2000RPM for 15 minutes or so. The DPF will “regenerate” & the alarm will more than likely disappear. High bolsters on 18 way adjustable seats are easily deformed getting in and out of the vehicle. Light coloured Alcantara seats especially will look a mess very early on. Front parking sensors have a mind off their own and randomly come on whilst crawling in traffic feet away from other vehicles. Top tip. Find a good enthusiastic independent Porsche specialist to look after your car, there are loads out there. Why? Because main dealers like their piss take prices are a joke. They would steal their own grandmas false teeth if they thought they could make a profit on them. You have been warned!
Just had a plastic ( yes plastic) pipe that connects the two cylinder heads on my 2015 Macan S petrol fail due to heat fatigue at 88,000kms. The pipe must balance the water flow into the heads or similar . A relatively cheap ( $160) part that a. should be made of metal and b. shouldn't fail at this age. Porsche are likely to be aware of this issue and the thing that really irks me is they haven't improved the replacement part - same cheap plastic affair. A labour intensive fix that could have been avoided with better materials being employed. I'd hate to have this happen somewhere remote. Renders the car undriveable.
Find the sensors about the same on my 2018 Macan GTS as on my 2016 911 4 GTS. Usually just turn them off when in a drive-thru, otherwise they would be (almost) always on (too close to the wall).........Love this car.
LOVE my Macan. My only complaint is the inability to adjust the defroster temperature. When driving when it’s snowing, the best way to avoid snow build-up on the windshield is to use the defroster with a cold air setting. My ‘15 Macan S only blows hot air on windshield.
I just re stuck the front and rear numberplate to stop the sensors going crazy, also make sure there are no spiders living there as the cobwebs moving will set it off
Having owned 2 Porsche products from new since 2001 I am qualified to comment. Porsche trade on a reputation of "a super car you can use every day", "hewn from granite build quality" and the "epitome of German automotive engineering". That may have applied pre 1998 but sadly post model 993 & air cooling that is not the case as articles such as these show. As Porsche attitude to those who suffered IMS & bore scoring on the M96 & 97 engines have shown, their products, engineering & customer care are awful.
Wow. I've been thinking of getting a Macan, but after mostly Toyotas for the past 30 years, I think Porsche build quality and unreliability are unacceptable to me. So many of the comments here are written in a way that presumes and accepts a level of having problems that I've just never encountered before.
my family has a macan and the reliability and help from porsche is outstanding and will try to fix anything that you need help with. if you haven't seen it in person and taken a drive with it, it might change your mind
@@Slytherious Thank you for the encouragement. I have seen them around, and I'm sure they'd meet all my driving expectations. The wording of your reply, though, makes me think there's still a big difference in reliability: I've had Toyota's for 24 of those 30 years, and apart from regular servicing, the sum total of problems that I've had are (1) a broken speedometer cable, which I replaced myself, and (2) a failed starter motor, which was instantly replaced under extended warrantee. I'm struggling to think of anything else that's ever broken down, apart from light bulbs. I had a Belgian-built Ford for a few years; the failures were endless; I sold it when the auto-electrician bills got over $1,000 per year. European cars are definitely the classiest and best designed, but under-engineered in the detail.
Toyota Recalls 44,000 2019 and 2020 Models over Engine Cracks The recall involves Camry, Avalon, RAV4, and Lexus ES300H vehicles, including hybrids, and affected vehicles will get their engines replaced. I'm willing to bet at least 44,000 people would disagree. Moral of the story - EVERY brand has its problems. If you think Toyota does not, you simply have your head in the sand.
Major complaint from me and others on their macan S 3.0 v6 year 2016 is : oil leakage from timing cover , the bolts were broken , motor to be taken out - expensive - but taken by porsche under customer goodwill So before buying a second hand, pls check that
Hi Jean Marie, I have the same issue with oil leak from timing cover. I am reading your statement that Porsche will repair on goodwill? Is that true? When did that start? I wasn't aware that Porsche even acknowledge that this is a problem although the oil leak and transfer case issues are the two most complained issues in MacanS, GTS Turbo since 2015. Look forward to your response.
@@or7697 I had same oil leak issue on my 2016 turbo after 20K. I was out of warranty by 2 months. Cost $3500 eventually dealer took care of it after I complained. Think Porsche offered extended warranty on transfer case. Very disappointing for such expensive car. Not a fan any more...
Bought mine 3.5 years ago. Fuel pump, water pump, transfer case, crankshaft, exhaust pipes replaced under warranty. Issue with squeaky steering wheel fixed under warranty. Had to have the engine dropped out to repair an engine oil leak. Also covered. They even did a free entire detail when they got the car back a day later than estimated. A little concerned about legendary quality not being what it is supposed to be but they have definitely stood behind their product. Besides maintenance issues, which have been handled very professionally, the vehicle is fantastic. The best combination of family hauler and sports sedan with the DNA of a sports car (steering, stability, braking) and decent ability in the snow and unpaved roads. My next purchase will be another Macan. Probably The Turbo.
John Malloy (wife)recently purchased a 2016 Porche Macan S with 33k miles. The warranty will expire in January 2020. She wanted that new 2019 Acura RDX however instantly fell in love with this Macan. I am however terrified of potential issues that have been listed in thread. If we planned to keep this vehicle for 5 years are we in for major issues? I do believe that Acura reliability would be superior however I never imagined major issues within the first 100k miles with the Porche. I hope we didn’t make a big mistake. Thoughts?
Todd Mullis Hi. Any car can have issues. Porsche knows about most of these but doesn’t actively seek to fix them. If you contact them they are great about acknowledging and fixing but you have to initiate. You’re at about the mileage where I started to see these issues. It is the first edition of this vehicle so there are bound to be wear issues. All in all I would not trade it for another vehicle. Acura makes great vehicles but you would notice the considerable drop in performance. Hope it works well for you.
That's a huge list of problems. I've been thinking of getting a Macan, but after mostly Toyotas for the past 30 years, I think Porsche build quality and unreliability are unacceptable to me. So many of the comments here are written in a way that presumes and accepts a level of having problems that I've just never encountered before.
Good job with the video. We have a Jet Black also, a 2016 Macan S. Wife leased it brand new and bought it off lease so we now own it. Great vehicle. Just performed the 30K oil/filter service. Not too bad, T25 for belly pan screws; 8mm Hex for oil pan bolt and 36mm cartridge filter wrench, nice opportunity to buy new tools!!. As a 6 ft tall driver ( i am program #2 for seat positions ) I do agree that rear leg room is somewhat limited, however, for short trips, my 6 ft tall 17 year old son is still ok in the back behind me. Last year we did have a warranty repair on a timing cover oil leak. Leaking at top edge and the problem was aluminum bolts broken off. "Replaced with new parts" Dont know if the new parts are aluminum bolts too? We got a loaner Macan for a few days and all appears ok now. Thanks for the video. Love our Macan S.
A couple of those issues I would want to know how the people are driving the car. If you hit bumps to hard it can trigger some of those issues. Others seem one off based off of what I've heard. That being said, I am looking into one of these and I am happy to know.
Great video TY. Only 1 reported oil leak is not a trend. I have 18k miles on mine and no rattles from sunroof. Def is tight on rear seat legroom if front passengers have long legs. Comment complaint in USA is odd uneven panel gaps between doors and hood-front 1/4 panel. Doors are set a little narrower than front of car for aero reasons Porsche say.
Only 1 reported oil leak? I'm sorry? These things leak like sieves. Our CPO'd Macan S leaked from both timing chain covers and valve covers. Took the local Porsche dealer 4 attempts to fix. Check forums. These leaks are prevalent 🤣
2017 Macan S 30.000 miles no complains until now, Great Torque, Great Speed, Great Style and lines, Good Space for me 6"02' that stay alone 95% of the time, Consume a little high but because Turbo system ! The one big problem is that I doesn't have money to by a Macan Turbo yet. Previously Cars: Volks EOS 2015 / Dodge Challenger 2016 / Yukon 2016 / Convertible Mustang Ecob 2020 /
Interesting comment about the hypersensitive parking sensors- my 2017 991.2 has the same problem. Very annoying when it goes off at every stop light. Other 911 owners have reported the same. Unacceptable in any new car , especially one in this price range.
The location of the backup camera got dirty pretty easily, and I am not sure if this is a complain of the design, once I stuck at the US-Canada border for 1 hours because the officer who exam my car could not find where the truck open button is. I ended waiting in the building for 1 hour without anyone come here and ask me where it is.
I have had to replace the transfer case twice in first 27K miles on my 2015 Macan S. First time Porsche reimbursed me $3,000 for the repair when they extended the warranty on this part to 7 years due to so many problems with their transfer cases. 2nd transfer case I will need to pay for because I am 6 weeks past the 7 year warranty. Seems many owners are starting to replace for 2nd time. Porsche should be recalling the Macans for this issue. Very disappointed with Porsche not taking ownership of their faulty transfer cases.
My Macan diesel S is superb. Yes, the front parking sensors are sensitive but just turn them off! A big issue that wasn’t mentioned are transfer boxes. Mine had a new one at 19000 miles and I know of others that have had two. Also DPF issues with the diesels but you get that with any diesel. I’m 6’ 2” and my mates, all over 6’ have no issue with space at the back and I also am very comfortable driving. My heated seat sometimes won’t work but other than that the only problem is that I can’t think of anything that better suits my needs and I’ll be keeping it until it breaks or I do. If you are looking to buy one, make sure it has the PASM adaptive dampers.
My Macan had an issue when playing Bluetooth audio the dash display would not update as often as the main screen. After much investigation turned out to be a PCM fault and dealer had to replace the PCM computer unit! Mega money but covered under warranty.
I've beem considerimg a Macan. I've done some research and wonder if anyone has had oil leaks due to timing cover bolts breaking? Read it was somewhat common issue.
Yep so the bolts they use are aluminum and basically disintegrate pretty easily causing oil to leak through them. If you get zinc coated aluminum bolts it's around I believe a $400 dollar fix. As long as if you replace all the bolts with the proper quality metal so it doesn't rust and break you basically have fixed the issue. If your buying one used or even new have the skid plate pulled and check if the underside of it has absorbed any oil
I have the new Volvo XC60 T6 with all the safety equipment. I was thinking of getting a Macan as my next car. However, I think I will stay with Volvo. Other than the Porsche name-plate, I don’t think the Macan is up to snuff in quality and safety with the new generation Volvos. I’m sorry to have to say that because I grew up dreaming of owning a Porsche one day. Now that I can afford to buy one, I’m finding that today’s Porsche are not what they were back in the day when a Porsche badge on a car meant something. They no longer have that German quality and engineering of yesteryear. Very sad indeed.
I like your video all the way til you read looking down while driving. Had a friend get into accident reading text on the phone. If we can not do that, I'll be more than happy to like your video. Otherwise enjoyed and I like how you display the messages on the screen for us also. Great day to you.
Fully agreed. He can risk his own injuries as much as he wants, but when he's threatening others by not paying attention when driving, yeah, that's anti-social and selfish. Good on you for raising it.
My 2017 macan gts had a wheel bearing go out at 35k miles. The AC had a leak and stopped working as well at the same time roughly. Also I don’t like that the seats move forward so whenever I go to get in the car I have to move the seats way back to fit in
Dashboard is horribly laid out. The big, central gauge is the tachometer, which I suppose reflects the sporting emphasis, but we all know it's irrelevant with an automatic transmission. The speedometer is a tiny gauge off to the left that is completely useless. So you need to set the digital display to show speed.
Macan S 2015 so far under goodwill letters to Porsche: 1-evaporater replaced because of cooling gas leak, 2- transfer box replaced gear jerking 2nd and 3rd 3- exhaust replaced some welded part broken. Recently had to change mechatronic control unit ouch had the gear warning message and engine light come on triggered by faulty sensors in that unit. Also had the rear wiper arm replaced because it kept throwing the wiper out for no reason! The car is great to drive but very bad quality parts from Porsche. Never expected such! Also to add the brakes are worn out quickly it seems that its not for daily use or not for ME region!
Have a new Macan GTS, love it, but in very early days there was an annoying grindy rubbing sound when slow-speed steering, when I mentioned it to the dealer they said it was something they've seen a few times, they had to take apart steering column to fix it, been fine since, of course covered under warranty.
Hiya, Great video and very informative? Been looking for a 2016 model with ‘toys’ and good mileage. Some of the blogs are saying a lot about oil leaks due to aluminium bolts ? How true is this ? What’s the average costs of a service ? Keep up the good work ! Many thanks again. 👍
Good video. Nice to know what can go wrong. Personally not sure where the height thing is coming from; I'm 6'6", 280lbs and the car is very comfortable indeed - you could be 6'8" and fit. That said, I have 18 way seats and that may make a difference. Agree that it would be a nightmare to sit behind me, but you have the Cayenne for that.
I find it hilarious that taller or bigger people complain about the space in a COMPACT vehicle. That's not even a complaint, it's a petty and illogical thing to say as any thing small or big will have it's limitations. Perhaps I should complain how a Yukon Denali XL is hard to drive in tight urban areas or a Smart Car doesn't have enough space for 4 people. It's a compact vehicle, not meant for fat asses.
Unfortunately most fat ass rich ass holes own these type of cars. I do not care though. They can keep buying them new and once they depreciate like rocks I can buy their "garage kept" car for a fraction of the price re-do all the upholstery, aftermarket exhaust, aftermarket technology, etc... 85% of the commenters here fit your description. As long as they exist and use their money to buy these cars I could care less. More cars in the used car market.
Most Porsche owners approach car-buying from the vantage point of the 911 experience and limitations. So compromises here and there are not a big deal compared to the 911 quirks.
Just purchased my first Macan. It does not seem to offer the ability to alphabetize the favorite stored destinations, which is a huge FAIL on Porche's part. Also, you CANNOT save an address which was located via the Porsche Online Search feature. You have to RETYPE it manually. Another Huge FAIL!
Great video’s. Just bought a CPO 2017 Macan S with the TT V6. What is the hp rating? I’ve heard 365, 380 and 429. Thanks so much! New subscriber John San Diego, CA
Paid over 100K for my Macan turbo. Horrible cars with $3000 to fix timing valve oil leak after only 20K. Warranty out after 4 years. Don’t buy this car! Money pit!
my 2017 porche macon occasionally revs very high for no reason just pressed gas as usual but went super high where i am left taking my food of accelerator and waiting till it comes back to normal??
Are any of these faults occurring regularly in most production Macans or is it just one off person here and there that have these issues? Also parking sensors and annoying window wipers aren't really that significant problems. And complaining the car is too small for 6ft+ person is just stupid if you didn't test drive it.
To answer your question, yes, the issues mentioned in the comments are fairly common. Timing chain cover oil leaks, both Porsche SAs and techs told me that the problem "happens far more often then is should." And "the factory hasn't done anything to solve the issue on more recent builds." Mine had to return to the dealership 3x to get this fixed. Transmission problems, transfer case (so frequent and prevalent that the factory had to extend the warranty to 7 years), etc. If you're still in the market after reading these comments, make sure you're shopping in Gen 2.
I bought my Maccan S 3 years ago it has 75,000km as per today and never missed a service at the dealer , had 3 main issues so far :- 1- front sensors are horrible sometimes they just get crazy with no reason 2- had my PDK transmission replaced on warrant at 55,000km never knew why, i didnt have any issues with it and paid nothing ,dealer said its recommend by Porsche technical report as i will have issues later in future 3- exhaust weird noise fixed today in 10 mins by dealer and ordered new front exhaust part to be replaced on warranty
What happened now? I just got a 2018 certified pre owned with 40k miles lol the warranty is good for 3 more years but now I guess just get rid of it before then??? I LOVE the car tho !
My buddy got a brand new beamer and in 6 months, he is facing major issues with breaks and sensors. I am planning to get a RDX, whats your thought on that?
Sensors.. yup I have had that problem, it drives me mad, I asked my dealer if they could do anything about it but unfortunately not.. another one is a squeaky steering wheel, apparently a known fault had it fixed. its now doing it again..
Just saying MOST of these complaints are so over the top like it’s not a Cayenne it’s a wagon so if you are over 6ft (I am) that just put the seat back and stop sooking and the other one the we have never had a sunroof problem so they are probably not pressing the button in they are half pressing it in, and the final problem that people need to get used to and it’s a big one is that the noisy brakes, Porsche have the best brakes in the business hands down but you can’t have such good brakes with no noise it’s not possible and it you had no noise you will have huge brake fade because the pads will be softer and that will effect how good the brakes are so they won’t always have a noise to them but they will always be the best brakes possible and you can’t have the perfect brake that brakes on a dime and has no noise so that’s the only thing that I don’t like about the complaint but other then that I hope people understand what I’m saying
Only complaint I have on my 2015 S is that it frequently doesn't sense that the keyfob is present. Annoying. Other than that I have 45000km on and still love it.
As much as I want one, my experience with a failed HPFP that sent metal filings throughout the fuel injectors, lines and gas tank on a Audi Q7 TDI will prevent me from buying a Macan. The Macan has an Audi engine - not a dedicated Porsche engine. Too many issues with oil leaks and HPFP failure rates. It’s a shame really as I love the Macan.
Is it a good idea to buy 4 year old Porsche? I normally go for few year old cars to avoid heavy initial depreciation.. but wondering if Porches break down more after 70k or 80ks and are there more mechanical/electrical failures later on in their life.. And I keep them for two to three years
I have a 2019 facelifted Macan S. Problems so far: 3 door handles cracked. Replaced without problem by Porsche. " : Navigation system takes an age to start. Was instantaneous when car new, but 12 months on getting slower and slower. Can get the slow "wheel of death" for over 30 seconds as the system reboots. Porsche do not see this as a fault - "They all do that Sir" !!!!!!!!!!!! Not impressed. It is embarrassing when a friend gets into car. Anyone else got the same. problem? Anyone had it fixed?
Buy a Toyota or a Lexus Soccer Mom car instead of an SUV from a Sports Car Manufacturer. Buyers like yourself have watered the brand down now. PASM is one of the best parts of the Macan. The handling the thing has is one of the best in the SUV segment. Porsche designed an SUV to be sporty as opposed to the "sporty" add ons of the SQ5, GLC 43, etc...
I have 2016 Macan which I love but it has always had one big problem with the rear windshield wiper. The wiper breaks with just a few uses. In the past three years, I have had to replace it some 6 times or so although I rarely use it whereas the front wipers which are used heavily were replaced only twice.
Don’t buy the Porsche Macan, Cayenne if you want to drive in deep snow 6 inches or more Unless you have snow tires but why? Extremely good in snow is Mercedes SUV awd it’s night and day compared to Cayenne,Macan...I own them all..
I had a minor engine leak a few years ago with my Macan GTS 2017 but nothing major and besides that, no problem what so ever. I’m at 108,000km and I still absolutely love the car.. 4.5 years I’ve had it, I’m still not tired of it. Highly recommend it
how much did that cost you?

BigTime Posters It could be the front timing case cover that leaks but it’s covered under warranty which is good

With regards to the parking sensors, they are sensitive, but they are supposed to be, one likes to know when you get to close to an object. In addition you have the option to turn it off with the switch located in the overhead console😀.

I have a 2015 Macan S Never missed a service! 1st out of warranty service by a few thousand miles...OIL LEAK!! $6,000 fix. Beware!! This is a common problem with Macan's and is ignored by dealership service until warranty is up!!
You should contact your national Porsche head office, I'm sure they would be able to do something for you.

LOVE my Macan. My only complaint is the inability to adjust the defroster temperature. When driving when it’s snowing, the best way to avoid snow build-up on the windshield is to use the defroster with a cold air setting. My ‘15 Macan S only blows hot air on windshield.

Major complaint from me and others on their macan S 3.0 v6 year 2016 is : oil leakage from timing cover , the bolts were broken , motor to be taken out - expensive - but taken by porsche under customer goodwill
So before buying a second hand, pls check that
At what mileage did it start leaking?
Superb Video.

Yes we had Macan S and always when rains the front sensor become crazy beeping for any reason

Interesting comment about the hypersensitive parking sensors- my 2017 991.2 has the same problem. Very annoying when it goes off at every stop light. Other 911 owners have reported the same. Unacceptable in any new car , especially one in this price range.
60k 2016 macan s... same brakes, one tire change, oil changes at 7500... runs like a champ.
Is it worth its money?
The location of the backup camera got dirty pretty easily, and I am not sure if this is a complain of the design, once I stuck at the US-Canada border for 1 hours because the officer who exam my car could not find where the truck open button is. I ended waiting in the building for 1 hour without anyone come here and ask me where it is.
Oil leaks from the timing cover is a very common fault in the USA - and as the motor has to come out to fix it - is a high cost fault.
Break squeak, only applies if you get performance breaks. It's 100% acceptable... You should know they squeak if you spend extra for those breaks.
why is it?
I have had to replace the transfer case twice in first 27K miles on my 2015 Macan S. First time Porsche reimbursed me $3,000 for the repair when they extended the warranty on this part to 7 years due to so many problems with their transfer cases. 2nd transfer case I will need to pay for because I am 6 weeks past the 7 year warranty. Seems many owners are starting to replace for 2nd time. Porsche should be recalling the Macans for this issue. Very disappointed with Porsche not taking ownership of their faulty transfer cases.
Similar experience here. I only use independent specialist. Main dealers suck and piss take prices
2018 Macan Disel, never had something break!
If that is the only faults, I am going to buy one..
Maybe you should test drive one, you would change your mind. Volvo's are worse for reliability anyway.
Love the car, really a 2 seater! Lots of gadgets!

Transmission shifts too soon when not on sport. But paddles are more fun so no big deal.
Wipers chattering. Back wiper switch is too fiddly.
I have had the sensor issue too on a loaner...once or twice in traffic I though a car near me was about to hit me
Timing chain cover and valve covers leak on ALL macans.

Turn the front parking sensor off until you need it, clean the rear wiper with WD40, job done.
I woukd also add that the paint job quality in general is subpar on many Macans. Lots of “orange peel”.

Yep I have a Macan and in the drive thru the sensors keep going off
You can turn them off. A “P” button I think.

Sensors.. yup I have had that problem, it drives me mad, I asked my dealer if they could do anything about it but unfortunately not.. another one is a squeaky steering wheel, apparently a known fault had it fixed. its now doing it again..
Hm..all that money and the brakes squeal , not acceptable IMHO .
You can’t have the brakes stop the car as quick as they do without a down side and I’ve only ever seen a handful that I’ve seen with brake squeal
I’ve only ever seen Cayenne E3s with brake squealing
And it also depends on what brake option you get
Only complaint I have on my 2015 S is that it frequently doesn't sense that the keyfob is present. Annoying. Other than that I have 45000km on and still love it.
Same here
