Thanks for the video, simple and yet very useful. Also, can you please clarify the purpose of the 2x4 ? I'm not sure i understand... since you're already applying mortar to the stones, why do you need the support ?

The 2x4 is a level surface to start on-top of. This ensures your first course is straight and level
