Ekaterina Shelehova: From Russian Child Prodigy to Opera Star & Era Lead Vocalist

Discover the extraordinary journey of Ekaterina Shelehova, a renowned contemporary vocalist celebrated for her work in Canadian and Italian opera houses, as well as her captivating performance on Italia’s Got Talent. Born in Kaliningrad, Russia in 1995, Ekaterina began her musical exploration at a young age, singing along to her brother’s piano practice. By age three, she was taking formal singing lessons and began performing soon after.
Her early career included contributing to the album Дождичай (Russian Children’s Songs) and winning top honors in Kiwanis competitions in 2008, 2010, and 2012. Under the stage name Katya, she released her debut album Moonlight in 2013 before studying at the prestigious Conservatorio di Milano, where she earned her bachelor's and master’s degrees in opera performance.
In 2019, Ekaterina wowed audiences on a China tour with iSing Opera Academy and further expanded her expertise in improvisation, extended vocal techniques, and folk music in Mexico in 2020. Her sensational performance on Italia’s Got Talent in 2021 boosted her fame, and in 2022, she toured Europe as the lead vocalist of the popular French new age group Era.
