I used to work at a newsagency in 2012 and I had a dude come in asking for the latest issue of a guitar magazine. He said there was a story in it about him. I looked up and focussed and it was Brett Garsed!! At first I didn’t recognise him and apologised for not doing so right away. So we chatted for a few minutes and man, what a great dude!! He spoke glowingly about Farnham and told me about projects he was currently working on. After all that, I found the magazine and sure enough, the article was right there. This was at newsXpress Watergardens in Taylors Lakes in Melbourne.

Has anyone heard the version John sang of this in 2011 for the whispering jack 20th anniversary concert? Video is on UA-cam. In that version there’s is a very noticible lyric change in the second line on the second verse….. ‘well I’m pushing it uphill’ is changed to… well ‘s#%t’ instead of ‘it’…. anyone think that that was the intended original lyric but he wasn’t allowed to sing it back in the 80’s due to censorship?
I have seen that 2011 version, and definitely heard the word change!! Love it! 😂😂 I bet if he could have gotten away with it he would have had it that way when it was released in the 80s. What a song hey?! So good and he still kills it in 2011. What a legend 😊😁
