I went to the end like you guys did last year. I was looking at my map, and it appeared that there was a big loop at the end, but alas I was wrong. It's just a dead end.
Yeah, it's a pretty cute spot with a nice view. But I'd never camp there or anything because I'd never want to get cornered by fire, bad actors or other unforeseen events. Nice trail though!
