Ep. 14 - Why We DO what we DO! (or "The reincarnation of a Land Cruiser")
We do it for our family. We do it for adventure, for excitement. We do it because we WANT TO SHARE IT. This one's for all of you off-roaders out there! I'm sure you'll feel the same...
We went on a road trip at the end of summer and finally got the Jeep out to my dad's land in Saskatchewan. It's where I grew up off-roading in the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-45. It is the fulfillment of a craving, a dream. I hope you enjoy this fun and nostalgic journey.

    Has nobody thought of BC backroads map books? You don’t have to be from BC to get on a trail and vanish in less than a mile then never touch pavement again unless ya mean to.

    Feel your pain, having my mechanic put on the new coil springs and shocks, will have them drill holes in the front metal pads so I can put on bump stop extensions myself, going to countersink a few hockey pucks and bolt them in. The rear Bump Stop extension holes are already drilled which I can't figure out why they didn't do that to the front of JK's

    In your opinion does the bottoming out aspect seem to be more of an issue in the front as compared to the rear? I was thinking about putting hydraulic bumps just in the front because it’s so easy to do and keep the metal clocks for the rear

    • @robp418
      @robp418 2 роки тому

      Should be pretty even imo, at least on a tj. Hydraulic bumps are badass though and if you don’t mind spending the money you should go for it. That’s being said I’ve got fox remote reservoirs and metalcloak bumps on my tj and it’ll do 50mph through medium sized whoops and take small jumps very comfortably

    10:28 "How did that rock get there?" Glacier dropped it there as it melted. Hiking on foot will bring out a bit more of the 'spiritual' factor. You get closer to the plants, animals, etc. It's quiet and you can smell the earth. Of course exploring in the Jeep is fun too and gives a bit of that closeness to the earth, but its not at the same level, imo. An electric vehicle or mountain bike, or dirt bike is still so much faster and more removed from connecting with the earth like when you are on foot, so no need to worry about the gas guzzling factor of the Jeep.

    • @aberteig
      @aberteig 2 роки тому

      Totally - there are amazing hiking trails around Vancouver leading to absolutely awe-inspiring vistas. I guess that would be another channel - "Spiritual Step x Step" or something like that! You are right about the smells of the earth, man...heavenly.

    This case has baffled me like no other. So Marshals vehicle was driven up tracks, that would destroy most vehicles due to the terrain, a part of his trucks structure was removed (a process i heard can take up to 6hrs) then it was torched. This is such a bizzare case.
