"Assblasters" is the name of the creatures in Tremors 3 😂
Seriously!? 😂 Margaret Cho has a hilarious standup where she talks about how her parents owned a video store and they had a backroom for adult films and her mom picks one up and asks Margaret - What eez an azzz-blahstah? 😂
I love how the memory warehouse concept was brought up in Doctor sleep, Rose the Hat had a cathedral.
Hannibal Lector has one too in Silence of the Lambs. He calls it a Mind Palace 😏
Same in Village of the Dammed where Jeff Goldblum or Kirstie Allie build a mind wall to stop the kids getting in i forget which it was)
@@chrisellis3797 Christopher Reeves? 🤔
@@lkf8799 good man, 100% Christopher Reeves
The mind palace is a real thing though.
Dreamcatcher hits different when you're suffering from hemorrhoids 🥲
Undoubtedly true.
😂😂😂
This was the first Stephen King book I had ever read. When I heard they were making a movie, I got a little nervous because Stephen King’s adaptations can really be hit or miss. I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the performances. Especially from Tom Sizemore.
If y'all have the dvd, there are some legitimately funny outtakes. My favorite being Donnie Wahlberg and Tom Jane in the backseat and Duddits says "Un urm ill earl." Tom Jane starts a riff, "One worm? Would kill the whole world? Not just Boston? Not just Massachusetts? Not just the Northeast? East of the Mississippi?" At some point Donnie Wahlberg drops character and goes, "No! Dude, I said 'un irm ill earl!'" The Tom Sizemore interrupts in character and shouts something like "Where are we going?" To which Tom Jane replies, "Oh shut up, you're gonna be dead in a half an hour anyway!" Why I remember it so vividly nearly 20 years later, I'll never know.
This😂😂😂
I love how they did the back and forth between Jonsey and Mr Gray.
The DVD contains the original ending, in which Duddits defeats the alien using a special power, but is not revealed to be an alien. He then succumbs to his leukemia and dies. Jonesy and Henry then visit his gravesite in the final scene and sing "Blue Bayou."
I've got to check my dvd. I don't remember that
Much better ending. I wish WB used it instead.
That sounds lovely.
I enjoy watching your reviews because you cover so many movies others don't.
This is the first "Dreamcatcher" review.
As a veteran of 53 Stephen King/Richard Bachman tomes, I feel they did a very good adaptation of a middle of the pack effort. That said, obviously, the book is far more graphic.
Can never go wrong with anything from my favorite author Stephen King...The book was awesome...Great movie.
I've got 48 individual books, and always looking for more!
I can definitely say, at the age of 63, that my memory is completely intact.
It's never been used. ✌️
Wow. I remember buying the DVD of this years ago without knowing what it was about. The cover looked interesting to me. Watched it when I got home and I was a big fan of it. I think this was the movie I thought Tom Sizemore was a good actor. RIP. I also love the head concept. Where the alien is trying to find out his secrets but they're locked in a secret room. Gave me an idea for a concept for my own story.
I remember watching a pRon with Tom Sizemore. He says one of the funniest lines I’ve ever heard in celeb tapes. Can’t repeat here.
Neat bit of Stephen King lore, Pennywise was also referred to as Mr Grey in ‘IT’ 😎
One of my favorite King adaptions, despite the bad reputation. Nothing compared to the book but i found it quite entertaining. Glad you finally watched it.
That Mars bar they showed was the one with nougat and almonds. Haven't seen those in a while. But the regular one's are still around.
Mars bars became Almond Snickers.
One of my favorites. I also use SSDD. Y'all should check out 'Fallen' with Denzel Washington and John Goodman. Spooky movie.
Please please please consider making "Cujo" your next Stephen King reaction. I would really love to see Mrs. Movie's reaction to one of THE BEST performances of a mother in a crazy situation by the amazing Dee Wallace.
great movie, would also love to see their reaction
I absolutely LOVE this movie, one of my all time favorites. It’s just so damn good, too good.
This movie roasts my hometown: "You know, son, Pittsfield's a better place to come from than to go back to." Spot on, Mr. King, spot on.
Holy shit Dudditz said "Here's Josie" just like "Here's Johnny". A direct connection to The Shining that I completely missed.
Never read the book but have been reading King since 5th grade. Christine (book) was my first intro into his work. My mother had almost every book written by King, Straub and Koontz, up until 'Black House' and 'From a Buick 8'...
This movie came out when I was 13 and I remember watching the DVD over and over. I always liked to believe I have some sort of shine to me thanks to this movie. Love it! "I Duddits!"
My memory shed is one of those old cookie tins with a single piece of loose leaf paper that has gum stuck on it.
Can’t wait to find out which version and film ending they’re going to watch.
One thing Is certain. Stephen king Is obsessed with Maine 😅
Boston gangster voice ending.
“We got some work to do now”.
One of my favorite things about the book & the movie is the relationship between the guys. I thought the actors did a great job of making me really believe they were all childhood buddies.
I have aphantasia, my mind palace is built with Vantablack walls, shelves, floor and ceiling , and everything on the shelves is painted in Black 3.0
Critics wrecked this movie for everyone. Not only is this one of King's better adaptations but it is severely underrated. Great visuals and pacing. Good characters with decent, witty dialogue. Mysterious elements with funny moments and a top notch cast. I honestly don't understand why this film got so much hate. Unless it was all the book people that shat all over it because it deviated from the novel. Great reaction you two!!!.
Dreamcatcher was my first Stephen King novel I read when I was 16. My cat back then used to sit on my lap while I read.
There's is a blooper sceen with Tom Jane and Donny Warburg talking about one worm kills world, and tom jane is trolling him and Donny breaks character and yells dude i said one worm kills world, then goes bsck in character, sorry that outtake is the highlight of the movie for me
Yeah that blooper was funny then jane tells the dude to shut up your gonna be dead in the next scene.
I love that scene! Hilarious!
Donnie Wahlberg from New Kids On The Block, and Mark Wahlbergs older brother as Duddits. Gotta love it!!
Wow 20 years has passed 😮 read the book as well
Stephen King’s Tommyknockers was also about aliens, I believe.
Sort of. More about the ship in the book. In the movie/miniseries it was aliens (in the book the aliens are actually slaves to the ship).
They are still aliens, who use slaves to power the ship, and who also ruin other species worlds. Though they have a peculiar view of their own species. Great inventors but.....they squabble.
love this movie. I love Tomas Jane, Punisher is one of my favorite movies and his performance in it, love Damian Lewis in this, Band of Brothers, and the tv show Life. really loved Jason Lee as Beaver, I was just sad that it was so short. Timothy Olyphant was really great too. it would be tough for me to pick a favorite of the 4, it's very close all around.....
This was filmed in my city (Prince George BC Canada). I remember them filming it and seeing all the trucks go up our road.
47:06 this movie is like full metal jacket, like two movies stitched together.
Hey thanks for reacting to this movie!! No one has reacted to this one on UA-cam yet!!
I read Stephen King wrote this after he was hit by a van and had some serious injuries and was on some serious medications and this book/ movie was the result. My hometown, Belchertown, MA, is the main entrance to The Quabbin Resevoir, which was made up from 5 towns removed from existence in the late 1920’s. All graves were removed and moved to a separate cemetery and flooded (7 years to fill). Stephen King even came to visit as he wrote the book. 😊
So to mine knowledge, three alien based books occur within roughly 15 miles of dairy exterior King parts. Dream catcher, it, and the Tommyknockers.
This is my favorite Stephen King story. I'm actually in the middle of the book again.
Dreamcatcher is my favorite Stephen King book along with The Long Walk, Tommyknockers and The Talisman.
I liked the movie but i didnt like what they did with Duddits.
Also in the book they drive by a grave or giant rock (I think) with graffiti that says "Pennywise lives" so it's the same Derry and same universe as IT.
Storm of the Century is a very nice slow burn. I strongly recommend it.
From the mind of Stephen King on painkillers.
I feel like the Mrs would really like the Needful Things movie adaptation
The real horror of this story is that the whole time they thought he was their friend while he was setting them up to be sacrificed the entire time.
If you went to another planet & befriended a few natives, then sacrificed them to save that planet as well as your own (and others also?)... wouldn't that make sense?? Socks for the people being sacrificed though...
@@msfeistybabe You saw my joking point in the end. 😊
"ass blasters" is what they call the monsters in one of the "Tremors" movies.
I don’t think the dates line up in the novel for Pennywise to be a threat to Josie when she was stuck in the sewers. The childhood sections take place in the 70s and Pennywise was absent from 1958-1985
I'm waiting for a Stephen King biopic where we see his childhood, complete with aliens, ghosts, and telepaths. Great reaction, but I get the feeling you'll never look at toothpicks the same ever again.
This and The Tommyknockers are the only two Stephen King takes on aliens I remember. I really liked this one, had that classic Stephen King feel to it
Under the Dome involved aliens, but they aren't an active part of the story.
@@miker.9138 ah yeah, I'd forgotten about that
The Mist is an alien story, and the movie also stars Thomas Jane. They've already reacted to it.
I can't tell you why but there's just something about Henry that I liked. He's my favorite. I thought it was interesting that sk did a gray. I read IT first so I was somewhat eh about Mr Gray. But fascinating read. And pretty good adaptation
First King book I read in English (I'm Polish), I really enjoyed it. The movie, not so much. But I did like the alternate ending on the DVD.
Mars, Inc stopped making those glorious Mars Bars as shown in the movie. My favorites. 😢 They added caramel, then rebranded as Snickers Almonds, but it ain’t the same. Sad now.
Directed by Lawrence Kasdan, who wrote RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK and THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK....co-written by William Goldman, who wrote THE PRINCESS BRIDE, BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID and also adapted MISERY!
The timing on this was immaculate. I was trying to figure out where I knew Timothy Olyphant from and this movie came up in his filmography. I used to have Dreamcatcher on vhs and loved it.
Maaaaan I misss you guys reactions! Some how your content wasn’t popping up so I found it last night and been catching up since. Have a great week guys.
So when I was a kid I remember watching this with my mom and cousin. I loved horror movies so this wasn't a weird thing.
This lead to us all warning each other about checking for "butt slugs" in the toilet after this movie.
Core memory unlocked.
Sorry for everyone else that didn't experience this. But. 🤣😬😂
The sad thing is, butt slugs are real and even pretty common in the US. Parasites are more common than people like to think.
One of my favourite SK books ☺ I loved this film adaptation and I was honestly shocked growing up that so few people seemed to know about itb
I think Stephen King said this is the book he hated the most. He said he was feeling ill while working on it, etc. He said he wrote it while trying to recover from a car wreck he almost died from. I love the movie though.
The Tommyknockers deals with aliens. There is also another book that has aliens, but I can not mention it because it would be too big of a spoiler.
It was my second Stephen King book(the first was Riding the bullet) I remember I cried a lot reading Dreamcatcher.
Love the book, and I love the movie. Brilliant casting, too...Timothy Olyphant is a main character on these channels. Love Damien Lewis and Jason Lee too.
And I do enjoy that this classic gave me the term "Sh!t-Weasel". I use it regularly.
This movie inspired me to take a vacation in Maine and it turned out to be one of the best I'd ever taken...the snowy wilderness is gorgeous in this film.
One of my all time favorites growing up, glad yall did this one! SSDD
Wow this move is even after all these years and with your reaction!
I used to have a boss named Doug and we all called him Duddits. It was even funnier after he saw the movie
Mars bars are awesome. Massive in the UK.
Oh you like slug/work creatures? I recommend The Deadly Spawn (1983) (also known as Return of the Alien's Deadly Spawn) Or Night of the Creeps (1986) or Slither (2006).
I'm glad they brought the memory warehouses back in Dr sleep
The town of Derry is based on Bangor Maine. I didn't realize how many SK stories took place in that town.
Trish looks like Sherry Moon Zombie.
MY MOVIE!!! Can't wait to watch your reaction.
This is the Stephen King movie where the weird worms go to peoples buttholes, right?! Underrated movie! 😋😅😂👌
Tommyknockers, another stephen king story about aliens :D
Captain Winters! Band of Brothers
Fun fact I didn't recognize Donnie Wahlberg in this movie he did it again by losing weight by getting a role just he did in the sixth sense (1999)
Real Cool movie from Stephen King Novel - FIRESTARTER 1984. staring Drew Barreymore (age 8 little girl, Martin Sheen and George C. Scott
One of my favorite Stephen King movie adaptations.
I read this book before I even knew that the movie would be coming out 2 months later. The bathroom scene was literally how I imagined. Great movie, rushed ending, should have had a bigger budget.
No matter it’s still a fun watch.
Lol every Stephen King ending feels rushed.
I had almost the exact same experience. I read the book, told people about it and said it would make a good movie and then about 2 months later the trailer came out.
This movie was amazing just as good as It and stand by me..i do not understand why the critics bashed this movie and the box office was so poor when it came out..
Mars bars should pay you for that free advertisement I am going to go buy a four set tomorrow lol! I just love both of your reactions on all movies, thank you for making me smile!
The alien arse snake is just nasty
I feel like this movie fits into the "Lost" category; lots of ideas and ZERO CLUE what to do with them.
I was afraid to go to the toilet for days after watching this movie. 🚽
It’s crazy I searched for a reaction to this movie a day before you guys posted lol nobody ever react to it but I always loved it from when I watched it as a kid and in my 20’s now lol wish more people would react to it but glad you guys loved it. I’m just know finding it it’s a Stephen king movie and linked to IT verse lol.
Side note: MARS also deals in pet care products.
Enjoy that candy bar.
Did not know that was Donnie until I'm in theater watching the credits!😂 Same with Six Sense.
This is a coke induced fever dream of a story. I was actually surprised when they decided to make a movie out of this story. I hated that Pete and Beaver were killed off.
Stephen King does alien movies he did The Mist and Tommy Knockers.
Horror movies to watch: Annihilation, The Ritual, The Tall Grass, The Green Inferno, Identity, Color out of Space, The Void, Identity, The Thing 2011, Hellraiser 2022, Old, The Belko Experiment, Beach House and Coherence 💡👍
I haven’t seen this movie in a million years.
You earned an automatic like just for watching this movie.
Awesome! This will be a great reaction to watch!
16:47 A very wise assumption Mrs. Movies! After seeing a strange event and then a military helicopter shows up with people dressed up in white gear, that is very sus!!!
As a kid I couldn't watch this. Once the Alien showed up I ran out screaming.... Then I watched it again at age 13.
I named our little Shitzu, Duddits, because of this movie. My family was against it at first, but one by one they started calling him Duddits.
“Beaver” always chewing wood. It’s a Compulsive behavior.
Awesome reaction of my favorite Stephen King movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
This movie!? Really!? I mean everyone's entitled to their opinion, and I respect that, but THIS movie?
Have you not seen/read The Green Mile?
It's also one of my favorite Stephen King movies. I personally don't like The Green Mile that much. It was okey but I'll never watch it again. Try watching fun Stephen King movies like The langoliers for a chance.@@edmunddantes7097
Don't feel bad. I'm 53 and my memory warehouse is the size of a thimble😂
Great cast, fun movie. Was excited to see the Mrs. reaction to the "ass weasels." LOL! Love that her "memory warehouse" is a "she shed." My "memory warehouse " files were converted to digital in the 2000s and are full of bugs and glitches.
Really love y'all's Horror reactions. So funny 😁😂🤣🙏🏼🙏🏼
I wonder if they'll recognize Donnie Wahlberg as the adult Duddits
Don't worry adults in Stephen King novels are more impervious to being run down by traffic then children.
