    Ausgezeichnet! Alles Gute in North Carolina! Fantasticsh!!

    Although I don't play, your videos give me a great appreciation for the people who do play boogie woogie. Germany does produce some great boogie players. Jörg Hegemann is one of our favorites. But don't take a back seat. You are a great player also that we enjoy listening to. Thanks for all the great video's you do. Larry and Jo from Arizona USA.

    Hi Chris, I do like your choice of demo performances. First Jörg Hegemann and now the great Axel Zwingenberger. Both of these are part of my regular UA-cam play list, along with other German, Swiss and some other players.
    Maybe I'll get to this tutorial in a few months (or years - don't take the video down 🤣). I'm just about able to play the sample boogie at the end of your right hand tutorial (with slides!) although with a simpler left hand. The ending is proving a challenge, though I'll get it. Practice, practice practice 😁 edit: and takes about 5x longer to play! 😆
    I've said it before but it's worth repeating: thank you for all these great videos that you're putting so much time and effort into. It really is appreciated 👍👌🎹

    Well Chris, I learned a few things from this video: 1. I will need 800 gallons of German water fed intravenously into my lead left hand to get better; 2. I will need to be in lockdown a lot longer if I'm ever to get to these patterns; 3. I stink but trying to learn this boogie woogie piano style thanks to your videos is as much fun as I've had in a long time!
    Speaking for us rookies, I think it would be great if you could post a video of left hand exercises to develop that relaxed left hand that you have clearly mastered. I'm slowly getting better but no one on the internet has posted any tips videos and I'll be honest, you are the guy to do it!
    Thanks for all of these great videos, Chris.

      Hey Bill, good idea about some guidance for a relaxed left hand. I start relaxed, then find myself tensing up and then come the inevitable mistakes and inconsistent timing.
      Does it just take lots and lots and lots of practice, I wonder? I've been taking audio recordings of my practice but have started video now, so will see if I spot anything obvious I can change.
      Chris certainly is a master and a very good teacher!

    Thanks for the great tutorial Chris. Unless my brain has totally melted due to the immense concentration required to play this (!!) doesn't the first example start on the second half of the fourth beat as well? I only ask because you specifically mention it for the second variation, but not for the first?
    Thanks once again for the great video.

    • @InternationalBoogieNights
      @InternationalBoogieNights  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Wally. Thanks for your comment. Variation 1 starts on 4+... the keys E & G you should hit on the first beat. The key "C" is always on the off-beat and the thirds always on the beat... OK? :-)

    • @wallybazoom8976

      @@InternationalBoogieNights Brilliant. Thanks Chris. Is this left hand pattern very common amongst German and Swiss Boogie players? I notice that Stefan Ulbricht favours this left hand pattern of playing E and G on the first beat as well. Thanks again.
